"Despite giving your spacecraft a great glossy finish, Turtle Wax is ineffective at deflecting laser blasts."
Our vessel arsenal has grown. Note my friend testing his latest speedster hover vessel on the middle of the pic My latest hover miner. Bit on the heavier side - but seems to be stable and effective. Mandatory sunset/sunrise pic. Been also working on my heavy mining barge on creative. The "Mining Ring". Theres also going to be 4 HV miners with mining turret docked onto the ring for working on planets.
Well finished my Survival CV blueprint now to get the resources in Survival to build it. lol I call her the USS Raider. She's not too small but not too big. Just right in my opinion.
created a PVP arena system - our first faction challenge is tonight - 4 vs 4 sv space battle - 3 rounds
So, today I finally finished all my prep for my first jump out of my starting system of Akua. BA mostly cleared out of resources, all transferred to my new mobile base CV. I take my CV into orbit - didn't take long, this things flies like a fighter *sigh* - and set Omicron as my target. Hmm, no guidance arrows, looks like that's vanished again, it does that every few updates. Anyone else noticed that? Anyway, I switch to external view, find the marker for Omicron and Warp. I arrive in Omicron and get the Freighter message....and there it is, just a few Km in front of me. Nice! I start heading towards the Freighter, wondering how my Minigun-only equipped CV - really not built for combat - will handle this...maybe I should switch to my SV....nah! And that's the end of my story, other than the bit where, after an odd puff of smoke, the Freighter vanishes. Lovely. I'd not even got into weapons range. Lol. So, is this just bad luck and the Freighter is on some timer and jumped away? Obviously as my first ever actual sighting of a Freighter I've no clue what to expect. Didn't expect it to vanish! Scoob.
Yep, sometimes I have to hit the stupid Lock Target Button more then once before the damn thing wakes up & does its job, sometimes I have to exit & re-enter the Space Playfield & try it again before it works. :/
Ooo, the Freighter just popped back in again....off I go! Urgh....it just vanished again! I had to nip away briefly, so I saved my Single Player game. Reloaded and it's nowhere to be seen. I think the game save process needs to record the presence of a Freighter! Scoob.
Ah. I didn't even think to try an exit game / reload to see if that helped - i.e. forcing the playerfield be reloaded via that technique. I will see if it's still a problem on my next jump though. Not a huge issue in the scheme of things, but likely confusing for someone new to the game. Scoob.
Oh cool, there's a couple of them there now. I had a look at yours, it looks pretty cool it reminds me of the ingame ship with the cargo pods on the sides. My only criticism is that it should have room for a crew of 6. Anyways, i've published mine under the title interstel superphotonic starship. Only it doesn't seem to be showing up at all, so i don't know. It's set to public sharing, i guess it just wasn't meant to be.
This is in my first play, so it's all new to me. Got the brilliant idea of using the explosive to break open the locked door at the abandoned mine. The explosion blew out the door and a lot of the floor, too. I noticed the blocks were something alien. That's weird. I tried to jump across the crater into the next room, but fell down, going all the way into a lower level, which looked even more alien, especially when I noticed the alien monster things. Fortunately, they seemed a little disoriented (broken AI, I presume), and I was able to shot-gun them into horizontal positions. Exploring further, thinking my back was protected, I discovered that there were more different types of aliens down lower, and started heading back out. But some kind of teleporter had sent a few more of the original alien into the area behind me and I was attacked, and I thought I got out unscathed. Perhaps I was only lightly scratched, I guess. In any case, after getting away, my suit began to report health problems. All the remaining health packs, antidote pills, and natural remedies I had discovered were to no avail. An alien parasite was growing inside me and it was only a matter of time. I went for a site I had not previously scouted, hoping against hope that it wasn't too protected and would hold some abandoned supplies that might help me. It was indeed abandoned, and was some kind of trade station as luck would have it, but before I could find any containers, my condition worsened. I downed health packs and antidotes like candy, but my stats plummeted, just steps away from containers that might have held a life-saving antidote shot. In the end, the alien parasite finally reached my brain and I died in a shower of blood.
The abandoned mine is a rite of passage in PvE. Most of us are killed several times in our first go at it. Nearly all of us find out that there's no such thing as too much ammunition.
too bad they are no where NEAR as big as they used to be. i raided one with a friend a couple weeks ago and was highly disappointed. no epic weapon to be found either.
I build all my ships for one person and comparatively small, it's funny you mention it i haven't even thought about that anymore. Regarding to that matter that it doesn't show up, i have no idea why this could be. Maybe someone else here has a bit more experience with things like this. If nothing helps you should start a thread and ask for help.
W/O turrets, bases will go for your thrusters first. I parked the ship between two POI's and watched them tear it apart.
Looks pretty! Today i made a cargo transporter. It is based on a idea i got yesterday when reading here on the forum. Cargo doesn't need to be stored on a CV or Base anymore. Transferring it back and forth becomes unneccessary because it will be permanently stored on the Transporter and parked besides the respective CVs/BAs constructor. (Cargo boxes have a total of 2268 inventory slots.) Spoiler: Image
lol, sounds fun! EDIT: Do you guys know the strange feel when you reckognize that you have done too much?
