@rucky Thanks! I take a lot of pictures but it does get me in trouble at times! One time a Nightmare was stuck in the floor and I thought it was a fantastic opportunity for a close-up...
Nah screw it, I may or may not have mown down several herds of Lizard Mules with gatling gun fire and rockets!
Of course, @Wild_XIII I was just being silly. Survival makes monsters of us all, and it's so wonderful!
@Fluffy, your fly-by-wire cockpit is convincingly executed and it's believable in the context of the game. I'm assuming that you make use of 3rd person view for some things. That leads me to ask if the location of the cockpit significantly affects the POV in 3rd person. I made a couple of attempts at windowless cockpits earlier on. At the time, my rudimentary piloting combined with scant time in 3rd person made the result a hazard to anything between me and the ground when landing.
@Starwing6, it's become obvious that the Food Processor needs a template for Kentucky Fried Raptor. Excellent pics!
When in 3rd persion view: With ALT you can hop around your vessel, even under it to see where you're landing With PgUp/Dn you can adjust the viewpoint-height It's still sometimes tricky, especially with Cargo-SVs (these that shall fitt in 2x1 or even 1x1 CV-block-spaces, but it's doable...
Good points! I admit that I don't make as much use of the 3rd person hotkeys as I might. I played so much Tie Fighter that staying in one view seems natural.
AFAIK the position of the cockpit doesn't change it, it's tied somehow to the size of the vessel in the forward-backward and up-down directions. That said. it's broken. totally broken. you should try and see where you're going whilst flying Circe - you have to move the viewpoint down as far as possible, zoom out a long way, and even then you can only see half the damn ship.
It's from the Condor, the text I used is below. Side note, the Condor was my last CV I had to update for 6.0. . + . . . . . . . . . * . * . . . . . . + . . . + . . . . . . . . . . . . . +. + . . . . . . . . * . . . . + . . . + .+. . . . . + . . . . . . . . . . . . . * . . . + . . . . . + . . * . . . + . . . .. + . . . . . * . * . +.. . * . . . . . . . . + . . + . . . . * . * . +.. . * . . . + . . * . . . . . . . . . . . . . + . . . .
Why not capture it as a video file and then select the frame you like best? That's how I do a lot of sports photography, shoot 4k video files and later select the frame and crop to the shot I want.
Piloting that would take some practice. I'd find lots of mountains with the nose. And, thanks for the sign text. I sucked at ASCII art so I wondered how you achieved that nice look for the sign on your bridge.
I've stopped my attempts for an uber attack fighter for the moment, can't figure out how to make "bricks" looks nice.... haha ;-) back to Plan A, get ready to conquer other planets. One of my absolute favorits, the SV_SkyRocketSled get's a new brother! As I've heard, other planets might have stinking athmosphere (or even less than that), so I need some small nimble scout to eh scout around... ;-) I mean, I can't show up everywhere with my fully armed heavy attack fighter, do I?! What shall the peaceful villains think about me? (Wait... did I say villains?? haha... eh yes..... meant villagers... different languages... anythink looks similar....) So I made a peaceful Scout: the SkyRocketSled-ClosedVariant "When the environment doesn't qualify for the open one"
Sweet, man! I like what you've done. Although I'll miss the LCDs on your original open cockpit variant. Btw, if you're having trouble with "brick" syndrome, might I suggest exploring the curved blocks? I'm working on a new SV utilizing both angled and curved. Can't wait till I get it right... might take a few days. Oh yeah, I also wanted to suggest painting the guns black or something... that powder blue just doesn't look mean enough... even though you did call it a 'peaceful variant'
Today I have another sad story... Yesterday I only took 1 screenshot because our game was only stable for the briefest of moments. The caption I gave this one: A little in the air, a lot in the logs Today it's going to be better, I hope!
@Starwing6 Stunning screenshot! And it wasn't promising, had a quick visit on the server on the morning ... very quick...
@rainyday at least there's the newest hotfix--mine's downloading now. I hope it'll do the trick for us! EDIT: nope! I got a a few seconds to look around. I hate to say the u-word but this is actually unplayable at the moment.
