I sure hope it's solid, it's got expensive ships parked on it! It's probably over-engineered Nice starter SV too! I'll add it to my collection of ships on the pad
My Shamelessly Biased Opinion says the Core work is epic. Naysayers be buggered. Seriously, it's like a touch of good ol' Old School RPG in it. How can anyone not like that? For the Topic: Got a SV Build done & Posted on the Ship Sharing Thread for any interested & hasn't already seen it. Might be my most humble SV Build yet... & even still, I still just HAD to stick 4 Homers on it. Also have a part done Mining HV Build that's gonna be intended mostly for Ore Vein digging that i'm uncertain on if I like enough... not only cause I can't Protect everything on it as much as I wish I could, but also cause i've only found a way to stick 2 Rocket Turrets for defense onto it & I want the full 4 dammit. If I get it to a point where I need to test it out to finish determining if it'll be good enough as a final creation, I may even need to borrow Space Mole aid for its Testing Phase... seems how Creative Mode can't seem to kindly provide Test Ore Veins for Test Digging purposes.
In other news, we released the 6.x version of 91 Circe and did a few small updates 51 Mephistopheles to bring things up to date and in-line with new sensors & stuff... If you are subbed, go check em out if you're not subbed.... why not? Seriously though, like I said in this thread, we're having trouble with some of our blueprints, if anyone has any information, please stick it in that thread to keep it all together thanks.
Today I've been busy... so busy, I forgot to record some let's play footage. Grr... Finished the 3rd platform, and celebrated by starting a fresh CV build. Borrowing the Polaris cockpit is a recurring theme Also built a greenhouse - having to run between 2 CV's to harvest and make some food was a bit tiresome, so I went for a decent amount of space for canned veggies production, as well as some medical items. Still need to texture/paint in here, but for now it all works.
I've built a new up-to-date Hover War Tank. Not particularly sure if i'm satisfied with it... especially cause I have tried sticking a Ventilator into the Internal Space & have no clue if it's actually working or if my Inner Area is failing to be sealed enough... plus i'm finding it damn hard to get 15 Turrets onto my War Tank & can't make an actual Tank lookin Shape at the same time... my Tanks keep being forced to look like Hovering Bricks so the Top Area can have the Surface to hold the Turrets with. :/ Also, i've discovered that the Cockpit 5 is missing a Control Joystick, but makes up for it with a non-functional Cup Holder. Spoiler: Pic for Proof
If it helps--about the babies--yesterday I found out those little parasaur babies have a good amount of meat on them. It was a terrible scene. LOL And if anyone's parking needs improving, it's surely mine. You weren't there the time I accidentally got myself docked on a weird angle in the corner of the hangar shaft--on the wall of course-- back in Akua. How much iron will we need for your Ilmarinen CV? I'm really looking forward to playing with it I'm having a lovely time on Ningues but I'm experiencing a bit of wanderlust myself. There are a lot of planets I haven't even seen yet! We'll have to entice Timo with this idea tonight while we go on our overdue mining excursion. <-- We were supposed to go yesterday, but I was distracted doing my slave labour in Kivutar. Maybe we could manage to finish up the space station so it could be fully functioning. I do think it's kind of small, but I like warping around in it I had so much fun painting all the pipes in that place... So the only things I did yesterday was collect ore from most of the autominers, went hunting, and worked on the ship for a long time.
@rainyday I really like the Shooting Star SVs you built--I'm looking forward to trying them out when they're in the Workshop!
There's one on top of UMS - feels free to try it out Will be on Workshop too, probably later today. Ilmarinen is around 180 000 iron. And 40 000 sathium...
Silly question but where the everloving <bleep> do you get that much? I mean, auto miners are great for it, and you can rack up a pretty impressive amount of them (I kept finding auto miner cores in POI's...) but... damn, that's some organisational nightmare right there
@Uncle Benny Tier3 autominers, you'll get so much ore that you don't know what to do with all. Organisational nightmare is storing that all - so better to throw them into BP factory Also multiplayer - Im not even in the game, but Im still getting ore as we speak
Myeah I have a bunch of them going myself - haven't yet had the ore storage problem though, that seems like a total "luxury" issue to have
Today in Empyrion: housekeeping. Made some sprouts, planted some sprouts, cleared out the last crafting run of promethium pellets (now have 2 large cargo boxes full) and queued up a massive fusion cell run, loaded up all the hydrogen/oxygen/water generators with fresh cells, visited my autominers, filled the furnaces, rebuilt my Cargobeetch HV a little because a single thruster does not get you up a 45 degree incline, almost died because I forgot to eat, and turned the cavern into a rather large storage facility where I keep all my things.
In SP harvesting the POI's on Akua alone will yield enough material to require a lot of storage. Using the BP Factory for storage is extremely handy, especially now that I have a library of BP's for things like AA batteries, minibases and greenhouses. Hitting dirt on another planet with ready-to-spawn shelter and robust AA is golden when there's a PV lurking about.
Yeah, you can get things running very smoothly with a half a dozen or so. But when you have 30-40 of them running - it really starts to become crazy. And bit of a chore to empty, refuel, process & store all that ore We don't have such infrastructure now - but we still have plenty coming our way, atleast with the basic materials. We're headed out to get some of the more precious materials - after certain point its the Sathium you need the most. Its not everywhere, but if you build big armoured ships you need quite large amounts.
I should be working on my space station or updating blueprints. Instead I'm back to working on a modular base design inspired partly by Subnautica's undersea base modules as well as things like the International Space Station or lunar bases modules. They're designed to be compact, utilitarian modules that can be adapted and used to start an outpost on a new world. I've built some small, rounded buildings with either one or two stories that can be used for various things like habitat modules, food production, research labs, etc. I'm not sure what I'll use the rectangular ones for yet. I've built a larger rounded building as well that contains a small garage underneath. Everything is on supports so it sits above ground level. These are the prefab tunnels used to connect the buildings. This is going to be the powerstation. Bottom left that small, roundish building is a warehouse. Bottom right is a signal relay tower. Above that on the right is the control tower. In the middle there is a factory. Above that is the landing pad. On the left is the radar dish and below that a storage tank. I'm going to build individual components which can then be assembled into a base using mergestructs. I'll eventually post them as a collection....assuming I ever finish them.
@Siege Inc., Super work as always. I like these buildings a lot. The power station and the other support structures do a lot to create the impression that this is a living base. Placeable NPCs that just moved around a bit would make it perfect. I've played and made mods for Fallout 3 and FNV for so long that an NPC that goes about its business without begging me for water or trying to send me on a quest is okay.
