Agreed. It'll also illuminate the SV nicely for those who have blown your Hangar Door & are looking for juicy targets to cheap shot. Cool... that makes the Spotlight look like an Electronic Eyeball!
Carrion left me feeling.... well, its a nice ship, but not quite right. So. Today in Empyrion I got back to building HV's after a long hiatus. What do you think; Sexy? Or, "break the workshop?" As measurable units go, I am going with the later, but it is hard to tell.
That is some smexy clean lines there FRac,,,,sometimes you work Within the boundaries of whats possible and it's good sometimes......you get stuff.....lol
A little something for @Starwing6 Was the best I could come up with other than doing it with blocks on top. And it would be a shame if something happened to your fortress... Again in my defense, they left the color tool laying about so what was I supposed to do? Time to build myself a proper earth building somewhere now. Gonna be creative in survival! IJS out...
I love you Siege. Thank you for the fast thumbs up and favorite. It is my luck, I create something like this and no one notices. You bring me hope! Steam Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1117216485 Steve, you.... are.... awesome. The "mine" had me almost fall out of my seat laughing! Ahahahahahaaha! Nice.
Today I discovered the major weakness of my current CV: my useless brain (with a side-helping of a lack of combat steel around the core). I also learned that NPC aliens are made from wood and plastic. I'm currently doing my pacification thing on Skillon. First order of business was to disable the PV and it's base, and second was to take down the Drone Base. Those two tasks were accomplished without too much trouble, and I decided to go check out one of the peaceful POI sites to take a break from the action. I flew my CV over to the Transit Hub, and noticing that my turrets had started to fire on the Hub's core I decided to turn them off so as not to be a rude guest. I like to leave peaceful NPCs and animals alone and save my ire (and ammo) for hostiles. I did notice the presence of a Xenu Mining Complex about 400 meters over the next ridge, but given that I had already disabled the drone base and had been steadily downing any errant drones I came across, I wasn't too worried about its proximity. I suited up and disembarked the CV and began exploring the hub. I was away from the ship for about 20 minutes as I ransacked the hub for materials and foodstuff, but on return... heey waitaminute... didn't I leave the ship's lights on? That's when I noticed the large plasma drone that had been skulking around the back of the ship lazily flying back to the Mining Complex from whence it had apparently come. I hurriedly grabbed a spare core and bolted up the elevator from the hangar to the rear bay where the core should have been. I was greeted by a ragged hole about three or four meters in diameter through the upper hull, and a sizeable chunk taken out of the rear fantail landing area. Quickly slapping the new core in, making sure that my fuel and o2 tanks were still topped off, and flicking the switch enabling my turrets, I set about checking my fridges and grow space. I must have caught the perp right in the nick of time as my garden and food stocks were all just fine. Phew. I set to work replacing the missing pieces of hull with new combat steel, bulking up the area around the core a little bit more than it had been. I listened and watched with pleasure as my turrets chewed up the plasma drone, and then slight dismay as they changed focus to the Shuttle Hub. The guns fell silent after a few seconds as its core popped. I hadn't meant to do that. Well, I thought, there's nothing to be done for it, so I might as well start salvaging whatever materials from the Hub so that they don't go to waste. That was when I accidentally disassembled an Alien with my multi-tool and made the horrific discovery that they're made of wood.
... because HV to SV docking isn't a thing yet A known bug. My Ilmarinen is the same when I have 2 or more vessels docked.
Well I think because CV is meant to be the carrier not the SV. Since SVs do not have any type of Warp engine then why would a SV need to have the ability to carry another vehicle ? Even if you could dock your HV to your SV you still want be able to warp anywhere. I use my HV mining all the time now, I can't go back to mining by hand. lol As for the FPS drop I think the way to get around it until its fix is to turn off Shadows and any of the extra graphic stuff. Once I turned that stuff off I was able to dock 4 vehicles inside my bigger CV and fly around without a problem.
Because SV would be cool & useful as a dropship between the CV on orbit and the planet. Not exactly cheap fly around big CV on planets... and with the bug, you really don't want to lol I use HV for mining all the time too. So much that I didn't even remember you can mine with the drone. But it was just one sathium deposit - and there were four of us, barely had enough time to take the screenshot
the conquering of Earth is well inder way. I've pcified all POIs save one. The drone base. Why? Sonthe little mofos can bask in the glory of what will be the useless fortification named "The Double V". Pretty much going to be all condos up top and the basement will have parking, the inner workings for maintenance and power as well as restaurants and shops. And it will have a soft pink facade of marble and glass, a sort of external core to mock them and will be "connected to the base of their PV mothership. I will rule and mock them all! In the end it will be 20 stories of glory in the main towers with a front facing marquee lounge and bar. I think. For now, I have the foundation and basement laid and the core is well marked for them to find! Soooooon....
SWEET!! I absolutely love them. I think Zirax know no shame, but they'll learn it when they see these on future scout missions!
Greetings all. Having just discovered this amazing game, I'm still just pottering around Akua. However, with my first SV, I just took out the support base on Akua's moon. Then went back to the planet and made a start in clearing a drone base. I'm now addicted to the search for colourful alien capsules with cool stuff in I'm sure I will have lots of stupid questions for everyone, but here at work I can't think of any. You have been spared for now
Welcome! Just ask, here are a lot of nice people that can and will help you! TIP: look for these purple loot boxes (capsules)... they have 99% an EPIC weapon for you! (the odd auto miner core then seems like bad luck then haha ), on Akua I have only found 2 of them, both in the Abandoned Mine, BEST POI there But you need TONS of Ammo! (and Medics... another Tip: Textured Plant Protein with some Pills against occasional Food Poisoning)
Welcome @LordMontecute I have to second that suggestion of the Abandoned Mine. It's my favourite POI for the combat, and the loot is just as fabulous!
Welcome @LordMontecute ! I still remember my first days surviving at Akua too. My favourite tactic for food there is to gather some seaweed to make seaweed snacks but mainly live off from corndogs. As you get foodpoisoning from a corndog, then its time for a seaweed snack that on top of calories for your body to burn, cures the food poisoning. Hope you have lots of fun and find plenty of help and entertainment from our community
I agree it would be cheaper but in single player it's not a big deal at all. Flying a CV is easy in SP. So I can't speak to what you guys deal with in MP. I do love the fact that it takes a lot to maintain a CV in this game and I think that should continue because ship maintenance would be a whole another game in itself. I find it weird that the Devs didn't allow SVs to have drills. Drilling with an SV would be way easier although drilling with a HV is pretty fun. It's also weird how the devs do not want to allow our CVs to have all the weapons turn on while we're on the planet but a CV is the only ship that can carry a HV. I use my CV as a base because I just love taking it planet side and flying ships in and out of the hanger and plus I'm not interested in building a base on every planet.
