I am already working on a larger CV as we speak if you mean it's small xD It's supposed to be small,its a copy of the sv version. In fact the lack of space to do anything has led to this next build I will release shortly
I think everything in these forums is 'small' for @vicomt & @oojimaflip . Except maybe @Siege Inc. 's space station...
Ahh, yes... I REALLY wish the Devs could get that one fixed. Some of us can't build Micro worth a buggers. Which is easy for THEM to say... they have a duo team... some of us are in Lone Wolf Mode.
You know its funny, I went searching for Finnish names for things and was going to name a ship "Vasara" in honor of our Finnish friends in this thread. But then I got kind of intimidated because I did not want to be insulting, and based on what I looked up with regards to Finnish, Vasara could have different meanings? In any event, I still have not given up the idea(for a Finnish name) - still need to find something. The wiki site is not really helpful at all: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_mythology But then, I do not find Wikipedia all that reliable and I am focusing on Mythology. I did learn where the name Ilmarinen comes from and that makes Rainy's already incredible mining ship even sexier. Maybe branch out into the language in general? Then there is also German, easily my favorite language. Either way, you beat me to it and that is nice ship.
I see, I have to put up my workings here again, to get anybody back to normal states, that is showing the real small vessels and bases...
That's nice Was surprised to see it in the first place, wondered if it had a meaning in some other language first. In finnish 'Vasara' is just a hammer, no other meanings really. The one you hit your nails with. Nice 'Ilmarinen' ties in with my first Workshop entry, 'Sampo' - which is also a mining ship... @Starwing6 and @Friendly Timo are also inspired by the Finnish mythology of Kalevala with their CV's.
Ok been working on this all afternoon after releasing heracles... I am loving this sleek shape, luxury survival shuttle/cv not finished yet but heres a preview.
My latest going ons: I've been trying to build stuff, then getting dissatisfied with how it's turning out & blowing it up. I fear i'm under attack from the vile hated "Creator's Block".
Me too. I've started now a good dozend bigger CVs the last weeks... then got into some design problems (partly missing shapes, partly I'm just unhappy with the result so far)... So I got back to my usual small Early-Survival-Stuff, and at least I've finished a few things there (Pictures will follow tomorrow, still designing another small Outpost that I want to finish until sleep...)
Maybe I should start drawing critters & stuff... Most games have related "concept art" but not here. This could in turn generate ideas for features, or at least change a bit from text-only suggestions. I'm sure there are plenty of talented draw & paint artists here... why not having some visual input on forums regarding vehicles, bases & features ? Sketches take much less time than building, most of the time. We all know many creatures are "placeholders" but what will the final versions look like?
Okay, enough for today. WiP Small Omega Outpost B2 (Class 3): The Idea was to make a small - still good defended - Forward Base with increased Workshop capabilities (for Ore processing from AMD Runs et all). Again, most is underground; this is the complete Base above Ground: Main house consists of a garden/kitchen area and rest room: Underground the Hangar with room for 1 medium+ SV and 2 small/tiny SVs: Hidden behind some Cargo Boxes the medical Area / Washroom: 2 Furnaces and 4 Adv. Constructors for Ore processing and building stuff... Anything can be accessed directly, inclusive O2, Fuel and Ammo... Most things are controled by Switches. Good, more tomorrow...
