@rainyday I know I have asked before, but is that where you got the amazing alien symbols? ********************* @rainyday @Starwing6 @Friendly Timo Add it to your collection and all, but you three should build a new one for the new adventure! I say this because I love reading the small stories you post to this thread and it would give you something else to post ... should try that myself today.
You mean the 'Xenu' symbols on Omicron POI's? They're all from that page - I just got creative with them and made an alphabet out of symbols. They translate directly into english. I did they same for my yet-to-be-seen faction - they have similar 'language' or alphabet but it translates into Finnish Yeah, Im mean like that. That's a new one meant for the alpha 7.0 adventure - it was just built in the 'old' adventure I couldn't help building couple vessels for the future too - even if I know it still might take a while before we actually get a public alpha 7.0 out. I guess it was also a test if we actually CAN build as a group - as we already decided that our first CV is going to be a group effort and 100% survival build. That should be interesting Survival builds are lots of fun - and it would be kinda tempting to do no BP factory start too. Maybe not the whole game, but until you're out of the starter planet or something. In the current multiplayer, I've actually built quite a lot in survival - including two CV's. But I stepped into the game well after the early survival game was already over - so I've had plenty of resources to work with.
This is the current configuration, guess I have to go with it. Side note, I finished my entry for the single small generator CV challenge. Presenting, the Schlock Runner.
I've been playing no-Factory in my survival games for a while now. The things I build are usually long on practicality and woefully short on looks. That's okay because the added layer of challenge makes the game more exciting for me. Playing ironman style at the same time on hard settings raises the stakes and the tension for even minor decisions. I do not recommend this play style because the frustration can be immense. Half of the time I don't make it beyond my starting planet unless I start on Akua.
Wow! That is super-useful. I had no idea that extended characters, or indeed cut-and-paste were available inside the game! You can even copy-paste from one display to another! Too cool.
OK then ... I had planned not to show the battle screen in Thors Hammer, and let it be a sort of easter egg for those downloading it, but with the talk about use of the LCD screens, I just have to post a picture of it: (and it seems not many want to check out a ship of that size anyway.)
I saw that ship in it's WIP stage during the building challenge - and it was already a beautiful ship full of brilliant details like that Really showcases what you can do with the LCD screens! I would definitely check it out in it's finished stage (and would recommend everyone else to check it out too!) - but I can't seem to be able to find it anywhere... care to throw me a link?
Thanx for the kind words I think steam workshop have problems at the moment, but it should be possible to go via link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1132047753
Hey, I subscribed as soon as you made the link public. I was just a little busy with the build I was working on.
I think most that are in this thread are busy building, I have to admit I am not the best either to subscribe and check others builds, but now I am finished with thors Hammer, I guess I have some time to do that. Just need to finish Biosphere 2 also, a base build I have been building on and off for almost a year.
OMG that takes me back to my youth. What a great little easter egg. And yeah, it's a little big for solo. more as a faction ship in MP.
Today i felt a little nostalgic so I did a remake-update of the old Pre-Alpha creative mode base, now ready for v6. Link : Akua Pre-Alpha creative base updated for v6
I FINALLY managed to get an idea that I was actually able to stick with for a SV... got it built after hours of work... then it massively catastrophically flunked its Test Flight. I was only able to fit between 40 & 50 RCS in it & I was experimenting on a new SV Shape. For this SV Shape, 40 - 49 RCS wasn't worth **** & the damn thing was a slow slug... useless for combat. I blew it up, hung my head down in shame, then had to call it a night cause I was too heartbroken to continue with Building Attempts...
@Tyrax Lightning my words, we need RCS2! (Have a nice sleep, then tomorrow, get up, and try again! You'll get it!)
I think we all hear ya. I'm a little jaded to build anything else right now just knowing I'll need to put in as many RCS as blocks for what I wanna do. My last one was pretty big for a solo SV but 100 were still not enough for anything more than just being a cruiser.
To the topic, I've left the warm embrace of Argentspire and a hospitable planet for the supposedly ferociously defended and populated planet of Ziraxus. Yup, seriously. Ziraxus. I was scoping things out from the trade station (screenshot below) when my CV was suddenly under fire from a freighter. But, by the time I got out there the freighter already had it's core blown out! Plus one for me I guess. I made landfall and spawned in a scouting SV and promptly buried and covered it while I quickly returned to the CV for some additional supplies and SV ammo before I hunker down on the planet and will leave all POI's with cores this time just for something different. They all regen in the scenario so should at least keep things exciting for a while. Not sure if I'll leave the PV alone or just pop it's guns off so it's just part of the ambience. Kinda hoping this planet has something relevant to the scenario (lookin at you @piddlefoot ) cuz I'll be here for a while. It's been a while since I built a proper base and I have plans for a good one. Plus, it doesn't need any RCS to maneuver so frustration should be low while I do some hardcore role playing. We shall see...
Quite nice indeed! It's always nice to see an unusual configuration cleanly executed. The view that shows the thrusters and all of the lights against the darkness is killer.
