Well.... Maybe it is all in my wee little head then. Made a second variant that is one block thicker in height, slightly more rounded features, and actual doors for entrances on the side: Up until this point I had never used anything past the 1x3x1 jet thruster.... so on this larger model I tried some of the 3x7x3, 3x10x3 and 3x13x3and they are all really disappointing. Stacking the 1x3x1's actually yields much greater thrust but looks a little goofy. Decisions, decisions!
I actually like the styling on the first one better; specifically the angled bits up top, the rings floating in the middle, and those vents on the front.
Gotta stop for the night. Got this far: I decided to finish them both, because I am a crazy person. There is more work to be done - at least a days worth. Balancing to do, lots of trim work and little details; I have painted them both twice already because I cannot decide on the base coat vs trim color. For a bit they were both black with blue trim to match the jet thrusters and it was pretty nifty.... but this is the inspiration for them: https://kypcaht.deviantart.com/art/Jericho-Razer-424247096 and I kinda wanted to do the red/orange. Just not sure its possible. Blue is still pretty sweet though. Highly recommended to NOT ask @Kieve for inspiration on sweet ships to make because he links things like that and your brain explodes. Also @rainyday and @Starwing6 what is Finnish for "Razor" or "Time" or "God of time" Or.... umm..... will have to think of others. For now the name is either Shroud, or Occam's Dilemma. Well, "Time" is 'Aika'. "Razor" is 'Partaveitsi' - which I don't think is particularly good... I'll keep this in mind in case I come up with any good suggestions Looking really nice

She's a quick little bugger, isn't she? Good grief! Maybe I should drop the pretty stuff and try something utilitarian for a change... But for now: more pretty stuff. I had the worst time trying to figure out an acceptable cockpit design, but after talking with @Fractalite for a while, I finally managed to bolt the last pieces in place. The KSV-34 Sabre is complete. Like the Viper PX before her, the Sabre comes 'unarmed' by default. Rather, I've opted to give her empty weapons bays - a total of 11 in all - fully protected by shutter ramps. Each is labeled with the maximum weapon depth, though of course the shutters can be removed to accommodate any weapon size, if the pilot wishes. She's also wired with two Signal circuits, a Combat and an Overdrive mode. Overdrive will engage additional thrusters and RCS only, while Combat will also retract shutters and shut off the exterior lights. The downside is, she also has no cargo or food storage, nor an armor locker, constructor, or O2 station. As with weapons, the pilot can install these where they desire (though it is strongly advisable to remove that bay's shutter from the Combat circuit, so it is not exposed during battle). She'll be uploaded to the workshop sometime tomorrow. For now, this tiger needs his sleep.
Nice as always... BUT... are the shutters infront of the guns? If so... bad. Your weapons will (sometimes) not shoot as of Patch 6.6. (I had similar problems)
She has 3 thrust speed levels too, as she was too fast for moving around in tight hangars and such XD the lowest gives 10 ms all round, suitable for hangar navigation, power save in space or low grav planets power save. level 2 is suitable to most planets grav and sets everything up to about 21ms with 30 at rear. level 3 is what you see in the stats pic, combat, high grav planets etc.
W.O.W.! That's a MONSTER! @rainyday you always make fancy stuff, we don't need to talk about that, (this is again one) but you know me, for me most of your designs were... uhm... a bit too slow paced... But THIS! THIS I want to see! WOW! Mouse movement very good, sideways dodging superb, this performance as/in a light attack-hover... (and I even tested mining with it... SUPERB! Very good Handling, even easy going out of dead tunnels relatively easy, nice! that's definitive the best miner out there! uhm... and this will be my new Go-To-Miner...)
Be happy, not a single one of my creations have received enough ratings to get one star. It's a good thing I enjoy building just to build. For myself, today I combined two of my XL concrete landing strips, trying to get a single base long enough for the screenshot I was making for the small generator CV challenge. The resulting base is 182 x 20 x 60, and I cannot spawn it on a planet anywhere. The box never goes blue. Anyone know a way to override that?
