Now I REALLY wonder if trying to use any Jet Thruster above S was what was screwing me over & doomed my last several Builds... & coulda doomed my current one...
Nice! I would go with this. (and I see why you will get loose some thrusters here and there... you don't have anything else... I have a lot of armor stuff infront, there ne loosing any Jet-S on my side ...)

Yes, unfortunately even a simple antenna will slow the thing down but this is just to have an idea of what is needed as "core" for top performance. This last one has too high power usage, adding weight would be worse. With another generator, adding a few meters to overall dimensions could still leave very good performance and not be so ugly. Losing 1 thruster out of 48 goes unnoticed, frankly ; I only realize it after the battle, when looking at stats screen. And the cockpit is too weak and easily breached (just like spotlights I always have to replace). So I prefer the previous versions with prefab cockpits that can take a little more of a beating.
The thruster XXL is the choice of real designers. I anticipate that my Color Crayon SV will be incorporated in the game any day now.
In fact there could be even better stats than 120 + m/s2 in 1 or 2 directions, but it's a trade-off, once again. Any thruster added to a build augments acceleration in its direction, but it also adds "dead weight" for thrusters in other directions. So that's the best I could do with all 6 directions having the best stats altogether, but I have yet to try asymmetry. When I build a CV I start by cramming all devices (X grow plots included) in the tightest space around the core and thrusters, then I check performance. I then add some blocks in chosen directions to see the RCS drop, then I decide the overall dimensions. I want to build a "fighter" CV now, with nothing but essential devices, and a minimal hangar for a tiny SV, and decent armor.
That's right, but we should be frugal here... 50m/s² is way enough, heck even 30m/s² is. (but it's really funny, there are so many Superiority Fighters out there not even getting 20m/s² but still being called super fast...) keep us informed!
@Tyrax Lightning heck even my VIP Shuttle has Fighter-like Performance and it even has a constructor!! So it is possible to make nimble SVs
If the CV's fixed weapons (150mm h-missile launcher and pulse laser) weak though they are were able to fire planetside I'd skip the SV and build a no warp CV instead. Right now, rolling in on a POI in a ship festooned with 6 minigun turrets, 6 cannon turrets and 8 sentry guns all firing wildly at something no matter how you set them doesn't shout "Roleplay!" to me.
Lol guys, honestly though I don't see the big deal in performance, these ships are so fast that no amount of uninvented inertia dampers are gonna keep your guts off the walls. I think it looks ridiculously unrealistic seeing ships move like that, especially CV. I dunno is it a pvp thing? Must be a PvP thing. I can dominate a hard level single player universe with 20ms all round thrusters so it must be a PvP thing. Anyway, today ! My yaml skills have improved :3
Multiplayer servers annoy me during this buggy phase but going back to single player with its small map is not very appealing, coupled with the timers not running when the game is closed. I am hosting this map on a public dedi atm. I have learned a lot about making playfields in the last 2 days. Here I have made a cluster of 7 sectors separate from the rest of the galaxy. The idea is it is a cluster far away in another galaxy that can only be accessed by a portal, 1 way, from the blue sector on the map. Players can then lead a separate survival game in this area until they find a way back out in the form of another portal on a separate planet in the cluster. Players could go through the portal as a team with whatever survival equipment they choose to take, landing at cassandra, a tough desert planet. Had a lot of fun putting this together, I used vexrays 50 planet package as a base then modified it with EmpyrionPlayfieldGenerator by moving it all around and adding a few sectors.
Please ... I need advice or Video tutorial for Signal Logic Sensors ... I know to use just 2 Signals I can not understand even when I try them ..... I hate the signal that would completely disconnect the Automatic Door from Automatic Opening when it is Cv or Ba running ... Is there any signal that can do this ??? I would like those doors or blinds to work only to manually start the sensor .. please help me SVK: Prosím Vás... Potrebujem radu alebo Video tutorial pre Signal logic senzorov... viem spravne použivat len 2 signali ostatne mi nejde pochopit aj ked ich skúšam..... Totiž hladám signal ktory by uplne odpojil Automatické dvere od automatického otvarania keď je Cv alebo Ba spustena... Existuje nejaky signal ktory toto dokáže??? Chcel by som tie dvere alebo rolety aby fungovali len na manualne spustenie senzorom.. pomožete mi prosím
