It looks like a submarine, a satellite, a camper, and a garage all rolled into one. As it happens, water is a great landing spot for many CVs if it's available on the planet.
@typhoon01 Here's the blueprint I promised. Or you can just subscribe to it on my workshop. You'll have to use the page down key to sink the basement levels into the ground when placing it.
It is far from the inspiration picture I used. If we could get SV to SV docking I would make it a SV. But alas,
Ah yeah, man... brown sugar with melted butter go sinfully good together - on practically anything... probably even pizza. Also, Trader Joes sells bags of semi-dried coconut (still chewy) that's probably my favorite snack in the world. Ahem, just don't tell my doctor about my sugary sweet eats... he'll have my head! Now back to business. @jmtc: Now this looks so much cleaner! I'm real happy with this. My weapons officer approves. I'm real glad to get rid of those big A & B symbols that were painter there. Thank you so much for your advice.
Whew, setting up a spaceship fashion shoot for publishing to the Workshop is hard work (for a game thing, that is), and the method used to replace the main preview image is convoluted, but I managed it in just a couple of hours. Come to think of it, I've had Steam for 11 years now, and this is the first time I've released anything for it (although the Workshop is relatively new). Pick yours up today! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1208483603
I'm not gone! Just work related absence - been slowly introduced myself into Alpha 7 as I pretty much missed the initial launch. Again, been playing in the same game with @Starwing6 and @Friendly Timo - hoping to catch up them as they have already done all kinds of amazing stuff. Been working on my Lakehouse which is my starter base. Just basic wood and concrete to hold the essential stuff and all the loot. Balcony to watch the sunset & sunrise. Upstairs. Still needs some decoration. Downstairs where is all the machinery tucked away. And a simple starter HV to do all the looting with. Just hit level 7, so SV is on the factory already. Hoping to have some more time to play (and build) than in the last month! Keep up the good work guys, amazing stuff in this thread as usual
@rainyday It's lovely to see you this morning, kind sir! The Lakehouse is looking amazing so far! @Friendly Timo and I are currently on Oscutune, but the plan for our next session was going Akua to pick up some things from our base there, so we can arrange a rendezvous. We're still moving around with our dropship and our starter CV (from Creative). Then eventually we can all build a faction CV together in survival. We have another base project there, and the last screenshot I took was at the beginning of our last game session. Just this brought back fond memories of pranking you. The work was hard and but went quickly with Timo's help. We made the hangar shaft--not as deep as the old one from Alpha 6, but it fits Gargoyle! When we reached the bottom, I got to work on building the underground rooms we needed as soon as possible: ore processing, construction and storage. I did all that while Timo moved resources around and went hunting--I had to ask him to step aside and not dig out areas I have no plans for just yet. I started working on a living space so we could have a food processor. Anyways, I think this might be the best underground base we've made so far--even though there's a fortress aboveground.
My latest Project: A much sleeker design than most of previous ships. The comparable big side nacelles are the interplanetary drive system and the glowing shpere is the actual superphotonic engine that distorts space and creates a Warp field. It is also the first design where i was deliberatiely experimenting with a Gun- like Profile (i want to distance my designs more from Star Trek, but i just love the saucer shape. ) What do you think? Is it better or worse than previous designs? EDIT: Btw. the ship is still a WIP. I just wanted to get some feedback from you guys, before i put several weeks of work into it.
Looks really nice, Neal! To keep the gun shaped theme some contrasting elements that break the uniform shape of the upper superstructure (the "barrel") would be nice, just like you did on the lower hull.
I was tidying up today and going through old boxes and I found this: This was my favourite lego set when I was a child. Of course now I look at it and think "SV!" So a couple of hours later, here we have "Lego LL198" http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1210382485 I found it absolutely impossible to find wings that look anything like the original. I've actually only just realised I didn't even need to use wings, I could have used steel blocks, GAH! Well, I'll be working on a MKII next then. Here are some pictures of the super carrier CV, inside of which this SV was built. I think it's the first time I've built an SV inside a CV. The carrier is a long term WIP, but I'm hoping it will turn out to be epic!
I ag I agree with SirKnumskull the upper section of the 'barrel' could use some work but I like that a lot.
