Can't do cans. It lacks the wet fish slapping you in the face noise. Can't miss that. [Edit: Have started designing my first CV. So far I am happy with the shape progression & placing the elevator early lets me make sure it has fast and easy access to everything.]
Lol, every time i think i got something. It turns out to be a Starfleet ship in disguise... It gets really frustrating, by now. Maybe i should just stop trying to desperately doing something else and start something like a Alternative universe Star Trek fleet on my own. (if that JJ abrams fella can do it... )
Sticking with the Star Trek theme I made a new tiny CV with a small hangar: It's not an Enterprise - it is a Smallbusiness! Just a fun little idea I shamelessly stole from, err, was inspired by Airelons Atom. The hangar can hold my large mining HV: I put it on the workshop aswell: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1218524969
Star Trek has been around a long time. It's such an iconic shape at this point. Anything with a saucer and nacelles is going to be compared to their work. Star Trek Online especially has introduced a lot of new designs. It's nearly impossible to avoid crossover. I have to wonder how many video games or shows have told their design team "no saucers and/or nacelles" on the ships just because of Star Trek. I've been facing the same issue wanting to create things based off of shapes used for Star Wars. Star Destroyers, tie fighters, x-wings, y-wings....very interesting shapes but it's almost impossible to create a design based on them and not have it remind people of Star Wars. Fans have come up with a lot of interesting ideas over the years for all the various sci fi franchises. There are a ton of Millennium Falcon variants in every conceivable configuration and BSG fans have come up with entire fleets of ships that never appeared on the show. If you enjoy building stuff with saucers and nacelles I don't see any reason to stop.
I was trying to install off-timer on my BP. As a result is..... It worked as off timer, in outline... I think that it is correct as logic. It worked like it. but...It is strange. It turns off, but the time is not constant. I do not know why, but Anyway it is still working, I will upload BP to Steam soon as a sample. It should be suitable as logic......or my wrong...?? My brain is going to be tofu. Because I was worried too much. I was tired....... I am sleepy ... Patrasche... ~O~
Hmm, interesting. I haven't yet used timers much so haven't noticed this myself, but now you mention it I will keep an eye open
You're right. It's extremely limiting if you have to double and triple check everything you do so it doesn't look like a starfleet ship. Which is really frustrating tbh. On one side i think f*** it, it doesn't matter if it resembles a star trek ship, but then i see the latest incarnations of it and everything in my mind wants to distance from that crap. (sry for the swearwords ) The truth is even since i have come up with some designs i like (like the half circle nacelles on the "Distant Horizon") they are too limiting*, and the best and most versatile designs (in my opinion) like Matt jeffries basic Enterprise design, are already invented... So i can either build flying boxes or hear ppl. comparing my ships with Star Trek (or ST: DIS in the worst case...). *there's only so much you can do with it and make it still look good, or other elements, like the saucer circles are really material costly without any real use in the game. Nevermind, i don't want to annoy you guys with the same crap every week or so, lol.
Naw Neal, it's not the same crap, it's building evolution. Just as interesting as completed designs since you can see how others progress their builds and pick up tips n tricks that way.
Just try to "think outside the box" a little with ship design, sorta like they did with the Borg cube. It doesn't have to be aerodynamic - it's in the vacuum of space, and can look like anything. Flying pizza anyone..? - that was the Empire in Star Wars! You can even get creative and just start throwing geometric shapes together in different positions relative to each other, intersecting. It might get interesting somewhere along the line and voila - you have a new ship to create.
For me today: full on PVP event on our server 20+ showed up for the fun 3 rounds and everyone had a blast! heres some pictures! I was one of the admins making sure ppl didn't go outside of the bounds line. I managed to fly around in gm and grab some pictures to show everyone...
Built a platform for the CV I'm getting ready to build and just incase I need to spawn a really large CV.
I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. I did it. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1218751926 Another one, incidentally. I made it for the operation verification, but I noticed it. It is a good teaching material for those who do not know the latch circuit well. So I made BP as it is and posted it on Steam. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1218751646 Even though countdown behaves strange behavior, the function itself of automatic ON and delay OFF is operating normally. (As far as I tried) I hope you like it. And then ...If you are interested in Signal logic... I am glad if you give me your opinion. Even just to see it. It's embarrassing like publicity, though. https://empyriononline.com/threads/device-node-editor-signal-logic-rework.32732/
I know. lol I'm going to expand it after I build a CV but I have a shipyard that can just about spawn most large CVs in this game but I don't have enough iron for that yet.
Short question @everyone: Just out of curiousity, how much material do you think, should a good CV cost in SP survival?
SP ? Survival ? (Most of your ships won't fall in this category ) Iron <10K, Sathium/Neo <15K (when using Combat Steel... this isn't even necessary in SP Survival...) Early Access: Z&E <<1K Iron Duke has 6K/11K/8K and 3000 Z&E in full and 6K/12K/9K and 300 Z&E in early access (RCS2 and Repairs still included) BaseStar One has 9K/15K/8K and 5000 Z&E in full and 10K/16K/10K and ZERO Z&E in early access For SP Survival you won't need anything bigger - even these are questionable. It comes down to how much time do you want to grind to get the ressources to get it, when do you want to get it (as fast as possible, even as fast as Starter planets), or do you see it as an End game thingy (then even 100K isn't too big...) Edit: But in SP Survival, even there, your limit is only yourself. So if your Goal is to finally build the Enterprise-E in Real size, as the End of that Game, then go for it!
