Sir, I'm glad to wait for a public release I'm more glad when the game is normal .. I have a weaker PC ... And this version 7.3.3.1375 works very nicely
@Fluffy, nice walkthrough. Good that you reminded everyone that the Exp branch has its occasional drawbacks.
Today I installed Solar Panels during the daytime... at Night I giggled maniacally as my base ended up using a paltry 277 FU (Fuel Units) with 200 grow lights and 14 turrets on.... The On? Donkey Kong.
I just noticed, this ship got so many likes (16 !) here, i'd like to know what features you guys like about it. I'm curious, because i'm thinking about to follow this style, by creating a more elaborate ship (including interiors, so it is really useable, not just a design study). The problem with the design in general is, that the internal volume is very small. There's almost no space for engineering, not to speak of a decent Hangar bay.
I want to ask: It would be possible to survival in the game .. At the beginning of it just after the fall .. Add to the inventory a completely ordinary binoculars???
Been thinking of the same thing myself - would be nice. We have weapons with scopes but I wouldn't want to rely just on them.
well lets see here today i managed to finish some more of the interior of my Asgard ship, ive rebuilt my puddle jumper's engines and i have start refining of resources for my massive POI im making and managed to get blown to hell by another poi today XD.
I've been working in Creative mode during most of my game time right now (so many projects to catch up on!), but we had a fun game session last night. When I joined the server, @Friendly Timo was jumping on the sofa in our new livingroom. I decided to join in on the fun. Then we got to work on our projects. Timo and @rainyday have been working hard at building the faction collaboration CV. It's pretty amazing already, I must say!! Timo and I have a brand new combat HV--Medusa-- for our Wyvern fleet. (Wyvern's being done in Creative, but the other vessels are finished up in Survival.) I started painting the exterior, and then Timo stocked her up with ammo and supplies. We decided to take her for a spin and visit the nearby Advanced Com Center. It was in the middle of the night, because we didn't expect much of a challenge from the POI. Zirax have no Turrets, Drones or Troop Transports that are any match for Medusa--but they placed their POI in a tropical forest... Timo crashed into the trees and we got stuck! He fought to free us and I took control of a turret to try and defend us a little (I picked the wrong turret and had an upside down view! lol). And Medusa got hammered again and again! Free at last, the Com Center quickly fell. Then we salvaged everything we could from it. We even took part of the POI home with us! (We had to logout and come back to fix it.) As we stood back and examined the damage, I couldn't help but say, "I didn't even finish painting her..." Timo agreed that we shouldn't use her in combat until I finish decorating and make a good blueprint. We returned to base and repaired Medusa. I did more work on her exterior. I really would've done more to highlight the awesome angles she has, but some corner pieces can't be painted or textured the way I want because of some parts sharing the same block face. I started playing around with some textures and colours on our unnamed collaboration CV. I did a little base coating and some accents. I don't know if it'll stay like this, but here's a little teaser of our project. The colour scheme could also change, but for now it's deep purple for the primary colour, royal blue for the secondary colour, and accents in yellow orange.
I love that ship because it successfully incorporates multiple varied shapes into a whole that Fits. If rotating parts were possible I'd expect the central extensions to cycle, and then I'd add to my workshop no matter if it was useful or not. I'd make it work just so I could fly that ship. If you managed it then Bonus. ^^
I liked how it was a fully functional Ship that looks like a Flying Satellite. Never seen anyone pull that off before! Medusa looks rad! My Tyrax Hover War Tank... dunno if it'd be obsolete now, yet I still haven't really got to test her out properly... Medusa would make a rad opponent for her! (Though I got Internet Issues goin on I need to fix first... Modem & Router both dying, & I got their Replacements, but didn't get to get the fix done before Dad came home for the Weekend so fixing of the Issue has been delayed... >_< )
It reminds me of the pervasive style of many of the science-fiction art coffee-table books from the 70's and 80's when referring to early interstellar ships. Yours looks like it belonged in that section.
It's very unique, and still functional. I like to see folks try unusual ideas, I like it even better when they work.
I like the idea. I presently use the scope on the sniper rifle for the purpose. The only drawback is that it's not good for much more than scouting terrain because you can "see" farther than the pop-in distance for NPCs. A stretch of ground will look clear until you get close enough for the NPCs to spawn in.
Today I'm working on my main CV again. I took some inspiration from the recent glorious landing pad and initial experiments have had promising results.
Today. I worked on a maximum size landing pad, easy to place. 20m pilings to anchor it without falling apart. Putting the last few pilings on my cpu overheated and my computer shut down...*puts a upgraded fan and heat-sink into the amazon cart.* and I lost the whole thing. Down clocked my core and will try again tomorrow.
Aww Hicks that sucks bro. I'm always waiting for the day that random parts in my PC die. I'm getting a new HDD for christmas, which is really lucky as I recently found out that my HDD was a poor one AND was about 1.5x the average lifespan for those drives. And I don't have backups. Yesh. lol I have another thing to mention though; you guys remember my recentish "UrgiCorp's Got Talent!?" image? I've been thinking further on it and decided that making the process better would need more variation of opinion. So I would like to invite a bunch of you to join as judges. I tried to pick a list, but there's just too many. Damn you all! Damn you alll too heellll! lol I'll have to explain; the idea is a monthly challenge, first month people get to submit their creations. When the 2nd month kicks in a new challenge is issued, and the first challenge (Here's the need for the judges) gets narrowed down to 10, and then the public get to vote for their favourites over the next month. The 3rd month finds our first winners, and at that point the entire system will give us a monthly Challenge, Vote and Winners! I would like to invite anyone who can spare the time (Admittedly not much) and who doesn't want to enter the competition themselves. Judges can't enter, but they can vote in the 2nd phase. [Edit: Ok, now I'm starting to get impressed with indented shaping. I didn't really change much, but now suddenly the side view of the plainest section of the ship is interesting.. Even before texturing, coloring and actual detailing:
Fluffys Dual Small Generator CV challenge broke my CV doldrums. I parked it over Omicron and went outside to add some details. This is what I saw:
That is a little rough on the upholstery. And I'm betting your flat screen there has a void warranty.
