Today, not in empyrion, I ordered that fan and heat-sink combo due to Mom dropping X-mas cash on me. I'll be up and running Sunday. I like the one on the right best. All look good though. IoN: cooler, fan and another stick of ram are on the way due to a xmas disbursement because of mom.
You guys are some sick builders! Jeez, so many awesome designs...! @Ramachandra , my dad would have loved your Portal to the Underworld; he was a big Frank Lloyd Wright fan and there's something very reminiscent of his work yet very futuristic in your tower. Truly impressive! Hey @Hicks42 , fwiw & just in case it's useful; I've used their products & followed arctic silvers instructions faithfully for years and never been disappointed. http://www.arcticsilver.com/instructions.htm Luckily I searched first, since I was about to ask you guys if there was any chance of Eleon expanding the color palette, and found this thread; https://empyriononline.com/threads/color-pallet.12073/ Which I shamelessly necro'd .
Today I released my first SV in the workshop. My friend @rucky said I should put it in ;-)! It is a PVE Explorer SV with a good usability and a lot of space. What do you think? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1231411916 It also fits perfectly right into the hangar of my favorite CV which I released recently. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1214933850
@Ramachandra Stunning as usual @MEKNET1977 Really nice! - - - - - - - - - - I made couple friends for my Vagabond SV. This series isn't so much about practicality and performance - just fun stuff Im building Well - about practicality - that high three legged landing gear leaves nice space below the vessel to operate all the machinery, so that's nice atleast. And it's rather easy to sit on a rough terrain. But not so much in a hangar... Vagabond Aggressor, an interceptor variant. Hardened steel and upgraded weaponry. Better speed, but not very manouverable. Vagabond Cargo variant. Same basic frame and thrusters as normal Vagabond, so this is rather slow. But it has 24 cargo boxes! For those sneaky smuggling runs... All together now. Underside.
After it was pointed out that my ship lacked forward armor I redesigned the front end with a layer of shutter blocks over armored glass. Quick question, does the original cockpit look better, or the double-armored version? Original: Armored:
@rainyday Interesting design! I would say it's practical in case you go hunting at night and can stand high up (without floating which sometimes does not work long)! @Fluffy A matter of taste! ;-) I prefer armor rather than optics! But ithink both look good!
@Fluffy I agree with @MEKNET1977 - they both look good, they just look very different. Maybe I prefer the first one - but then again the second one looks like it can smash into a hot landing zone no problem and deploy troops while giving covering fire I like using the shutter windows as an armour too.
@Fluffy Both good: I prefer the lighter one as the heavy is tending too much toward flying brick for my personal taste. The brick does look like it'll take a beating though, so... Publish both and be damned! @rainyday How do those perform in High-G? Looks to me like they'd be a hassle to get into in heavy armour on a 1.6G world. Love the design, love the warp ring up the thread too
Lol. I'll let you know when I get stranded on Aitis! Good point. I think they'll be fine - but maybe I do access hatch on the bottom just to be sure...
OK guys, lol I can't believe I have to keep saying this, Don't tell me how to Cat. You're wasting your breath, though I appreciate the effort. From my jewelry box, Ugh lol building computers since 2000 folks, from dos boxes for old sticks in the mud to backing up unreasonable customers tax files on 40 DD/DS Floppies. To putting together A mineral-oil bath Box. So, with all Due respect. Shaddup! *holds up a rock fish.*
That's a nice, distinctive and believable look. The mission-oriented variants are a clever idea with some practical advantages. Do you have any parallax problems accurately aiming the weapons on the Aggressor? I ask because moving the weapons too far down from the cockpit can make finding a good 3rd person view a PITA for me.
COBOL and FORTRAN with punched cards. Remember when SCSI stood for "System Can't See It"? Or. Press 8 now to load third party driver.
We used bundles of punch-cards for doorstops. While I understand nostalgia, one must keep up with the technology they utilize day by day.. that being said I have an Apple ][c in storage
