Your DroneHunters are my goto SV's. Usually start with the rugged series, then the WarpHunter in order to get Cobalt, Neo and Sath. Really I can use the WarpHunter to assault any POI. Late game I'll usually be running the Mark5 MW just cause it's fun.
in a few days my new battleship carrier will be done been working on it behind the scenes for a bit tho still needs work so
Finally got around to publishing my Kobold-class Heavy Multi-purpose vehicle. It's available in two option packages: the tech level 20 LX model, featuring twin large fore and aft thrusters and two hardpoint-mounted drill turrets; and the tech level 15 Basic featuring medium clustered fore and aft thrusters and marked dedicated drill hardpoints forward. I got a question for your guys! Did you notice something missing on the base panel? Where's the oxygen info??
Gun Pod. Barracks/workshop. Garage (repair) .. you got me all fired up now... Gah Saturday till I have capability to play again! >.<
... !!! Oh crap!!! I completely forgot about that in my CV Design!!! ... How the hell are we supposed to go to the Warp Fuel Tank & chuck the Fuel in without getting killed...? Can't speak for this personally cause I tend to only use stuff I built, since i'm incompatible with "Neurotypical Strategies" a lot. I'll still vote for this anyway just cause I always prefer better Interface then worse Interface, & Search Brawn counts for this in my book. Best bet for POIs is 4 Rockets/Homers, or 4 Rail Guns. No one ever wants to use my stuff much either. Even my Tyrax Dwarf Mole might be my sexiest Build ever yet people listen to me talk about it & I swear they just go at me... D: & if peeps wanna use my stuff after this Post, that might just be Pity... >_< My recent SV Build might count as a Gunship... oh wait, i'm not allowed to equip more then 4 Homers/Rail Guns at once. Plus I still dunno if it's any good. Bug Report worthy. The Devs need a LOT of help tracking this Bug down... it's like a Top Ten Fugitives from Justice kinda Bug. I'm a big fan of Rail Guns as a Weapon Idea... but in the current state of the game Rail Guns & all other non-Homer Weapons don't really have a job, it's Homers or Bust right now. This will change down the road, but will take awhile methinks. Power Lines are so 21st Century though... My Mom shares your pain... she's having me Build her a new Computer... Motherboard's taking forever to arrive, the dumbasses I Ordered it from failed to ship it entirely the first time a bit over a week before Christmas & Mom told them to ship the damn thing & we're still waiting for it to arrive. :/ Also I got her a Dragon Scales Case cause I couldn't help myself, then turned out she got antsy & ordered a second one & turned out she shoulda just waited & the first one DID arrive eventually, so I kinda sorta decided to keep the 2nd one for myself... This Build of mine BETTER have at least a couple more Years left in it, but surely it'll never last forever & i'll have to make a new Build sometime, so I figure this 2nd Case can sit around awhile in my Closet & serve the future Build someday... & Dragonize it! Also Mom's Build is forced to need Water Cooling & that STILL makes me nervous... but if it works in Moms Build I might give it a try in my next Build instead of use a larger-then-ATX sized Case, since this Dragon Scales Case is ATX sized...
Been using Corsair self-contained water coolers the last 4 machines I built- they are awesome. My 8350 idles at 7C, 25 under load
For Mom's build, I chose a Cooler Master MASTERLIQUID PRO 240 Dual Fan one, & will dedicate the 2 Case Fan Ceiling Slots to this dude... her CPU Cooling Needs were THAT Dire... like a Dire Wolf. CPU was her needs's Top Priority so I picked for her a 4.7 Ghz 8-Core CPU & it said Liquid Cooling was MANDATORY for it... For the Topic... so I don't Derail this Thread: Current next priority on my CV Build plotting & scheming is how i'm gonna build out its Body Section sides & the Cockpit with Weaponry Emplacements... which is hard work cause that's a LOT of things to think about... a LOT of Block Spaces... that I can't really just eye measure in my head... >_< Also still have no idea if there's even any use in having more then 21 TOTAL Weapons cause I dunno if the Game Engine can even HANDLE Weapons 22+ Code Running-wise... -_- Ya happen to know about this @Hummel-o-War by any chance?
That would mean you either use active chilling in the loop (like with a Peltier) which can be dangerous, or you're using an external water chiller. I know, since I run a 25gal reservoir at 10C, but it's a very expensive setup with a Hydroponics chiller. Most ambient cooling solutions would start at around 21C and go up from there. Would be interested to hear about your setup more.
In my experience (I play SP) nothing beats the combination of Gatling Guns & Rocket Launchers. My 'daily driver' SV mounts a pair of each and a spare pair of each are carried onboard (in the ammo box, actually) in case I need to swap them out for a specific target). My gunship variant mounts 6 Gats (3 on either side of the cockpit) and 4 rocket launchers (2 pairs with a spotlight between them, across the top of the cockpit). Gats easily smoke any flying drone with a one second burst, rockets (not homing) knock out any turrets in one or two salvos. Their splash damage is enough to kill most infantry targets and sentry guns nearby, as well. If I am trying to minimize collateral damage (just 'core' a base for looting) I use the gats to chew through walls to the target). If I just want the base dead, rockets will do the trick in a hurry. Neither the weapons or ammunition require rare materials, and I don't have to worry about the homing warheads locking on something other than my intended target. All that is required to kill *any* drone or base is sufficient agility in the SV. If you can strafe left and right smoothly, you can dodge turret fire while salvoing rockets at the launchers. If your SV has any kind of acceleration, you can pounce on a formation of drones/TT on their way to attack your base. You'll kill all of them before they can do much more than squeal in terror. Rail guns (etc) don't offer nearly enough advantage to justify their expense, at least not in SP.
Quickly Personally, I tend to bury them and P menu. I do sometimes include an access tunnel you can click through but not crawl through; you can click them from several blocks away, and the heat/rad is only a problem in the immediately adjacent blocks. **edit** Exactly this. My POI attack vehicle has 6 gatlings, 4 dumbfire rockets and 4 homing rockets. Homers are only for fire-and-forget on distant drones and troop transports, and even then only if I'm distracted by something in front of me. **/edit**
So I haven't been building as much this week. But I have set up a ZeroG-Universe server! I have alot of work left to do so I hope to grow and increase it with time.
You know as soon as I get the NXT done, that's the first place I test it out (in a proper survival/progression setting, I mean)
Gal-OSHA Requires all employees and otherwise authorized personnel to observe all safety protocols at all times and use Gal-OSHA approved safety equipment in a responsible and safe manner. Blech! I worked in industrial food service too long... glad I stopped having dreams about MSDS sheets. We still love you though! Even when you go on about jumping off mountains and doing a Barrel Roll! I'm going to say y'all need to learn to shoot then. Not just being a dick, mind you. I am a Mediocre shot, I know the basics of leading moving objects, But quite frankly there isn't a weapon that goes on an SV, unguided or not, that I can't peel a POI like a banana with. Some take a little longer*cough minigun* but the end result is the same. I am Not a particularly exceptional person, in any regard, So I fail to see others problem with this. I don't want to just say 'Git Gud' Because frankly I want to practice place-kicking, American Football style, with people who say that's testicles. Acrimony for douche-bros aside. Perhaps some target practice is in order, a quad-mount of railguns is 1200 damage of nearly point-register hit every 4 secs or so. *POP* turret down wait.wait. *POP* lather rinse repeat. I think you'll find the reward worth the practice. Unless mom needs to kool a Cray 2 Might I suggest a closed loop hybrid solution for her CPU ? It is simpler in the end. I do mount 2 Fixed Vulcans to deal with drones and anything but large turrets. 6 seems overkill but I can't argue with the redundancy.
