It's only because the OreMaw is one of the fattest miners out there. I've actually done some work on OreMaw -2-, made it simpler, slightly smaller & improved performance on high G planets. On a side note, I had to take my latest project up into space to add the lower floor. Had some issues getting the lower section started and the corners were a massive pain, but now it's done I have to say I'm quite liking the shape. [Edit: After having brought it back planetside, I decided that I needed a good sized area for crops, and that served nicely to break up the fairly plain side of the base. I decided to try giving it a texture and remembered that concrete has a different texture set. It's going to be interesting to work with much more limited metal options. This one is the only external texture there which seemed to fit fairly well. ... Q*Bert.. IS THAT YOU?

I've spent the past 2 days trying to figure out how to permanently turn off regen on my MP server. That's what I've been doing in Empyrion today. And yesterday.
I do all my SV, CV, & Space Base building in Space. I wish I could do my HV Building in Space too. *Q-Bert play on the ol' Commodore 64 during childhood Nostalgia washes over me...* ^_^ @Pantera might be able to help with this.
Working a bit on my next capital vessel, Cerberus-X! I love this ship! at this time about 75% completed with it. I am trying to make it more geared toward survival type play. I have made devices a bit easier to access. Layout of the ship is just a loop so tends to be one of my more tamed layouts. So screeny time!
Not all such for myself, but most by far. And sometimes starting in space, then down on the ground, possibly followed up by some polishing work back in space again. And I definitely also wish I could do some HV blueprint work in space. As for what I did today. Out of curiosity, I went and put some stats from my workshop blueprints into a spreadsheet. This allowed me to easily compare the blueprints as for their reception among other players. It doesn’t tell me how many actually use my blueprints in their games. This helps to determine which designs got the most views and what is the conversion rate from viewers to subscribers is. My mining HV, the Kiwi, is tied for the least number of views as of this post, a mere 14, but actually has the best conversion rate at nearly 43 percent. The Green Darter has the most views at 178 and a conversion rate of 32 percent, making it the second best conversion rate among my blueprints. A high number of views does not guarantee a high number of subscribers. The Star Cruiser has 141 views but the conversion rate is a mere 3.5 percent. So what do I learn from this? I am not entirely sure yet, but the capital vessel I use in nearly every survival game has a measly 2 percent conversion rate. So the blueprint I think is my best for an economy CV actually has the poorest reception with one lone subscriber. It isn’t my only blueprint with only one subscriber, but the others have higher conversion rates because those blueprints also had fewer views. I figure I am just small fries in the grand scheme of things, but I thought even I could learn something from looking at the numbers. Now if I can just actually learn something from all that. Granted, while pondering the numbers I figured out one of the flaws in my favorite capitol vessel, a minor change that should improve airflow.
I'm playing Coop with @MEKNET1977 and two other guys on the Farmland-Server (I really can recommend that Server! Nice Community and Admin @FARMLAND - the_mahler), and I've seen some things are really different than SP or even Two-Coop... F.e. Ressources-Deposits. What IS that? Can I buy some?? (Btw. as POIs do regenerate very fast, being MONEY-RICH is really NO PROBLEM here!!) Meteorits are the thing to get Ressources. And they try to land between military POIs here and there. I really like the RHINO II from @rainyday while I modified it a bit: WEAPONZ (4 fixed Gatlings, 4 Minigun Turrets) against Drones (which are not even necessary, because... uhm... there are NO DRONES in Multiplayer) and a MULTI-TURRET (for fast POI-Removing ) Also added some Cargo boxes, Ammo box and Fridges for longer Mining Sessions. Really a very nice Vessel. It get used in my group a lot! Good Job @rainyday! Still... these POIs better their turrets that refresh every two or three hours can be a bit nasty for that Miner Vehicle. I tried to tunnel me through if some very valuable Ressource (like Pentaxid, Z&E...) were hitting some of the Bermuda Triangles... With good results, indeed, still... NOT SATISFYING. Okay, I'm not into Hover vessels, I do like (my) fast nimble (jet) fighters way more, but since HV<->SV Docking is not (yet) available, I seem to need a more combat and defense augmented Asteroid Miner. But then... Why not building a WAR MACHINE with added Mining and Stripping equipment (Multi turret)??? Going FULL ACTION?!!! Here ya go! THE WAR-MONGER! ================ Inspired from the ThunderTank from SuperKilln I build my bigger one with FULL Weapon and Mining amount and a Multi Turret added. Still acceptable manoeverability (for a hover war tank) and the usual survival and looting quipment. Turrets are leveled, meaning they can fire all at once at any target infront! Thrusters are exposed. Heavy frontal armor (multiple layers, even the glass windows are NOT the only protection for the pilot ) will make sure the Team will get where it needs to go! I expanded the turret capacity a bit and did a basic decoration run: Then I did a bunch of work on the insides: Large multi-layered hangar: 4 Med HV/SV Bays, 4 Med SV Bays, 1 Large Bay Farm & Food Processing: 35 Crop plots should be plenty for a small group Main Floor: Control panel & Main processing. Space for expansion! It's pretty big and 'expensive' for a Starter base, however it is expandable. I went with open-plan so there is lots of space for upgrades, decoration or hah, just having space there. With the base being expandable users will have to set up additional logic connections and as such I aim to try to name the logic Outputs so it is fairly straightforward to link in upgrades & learn how the setup works.
@rucky I believe you when you say it's my vessel somewhere behind all those turrets But seriously, nice to see you've found use for Rhino II. And it's always cool, see the different modifications based on personal preference.
OK, now I'm having CoH/CoV flashbacks. I miss that game. My mains were "ResQ" and "RezQ" (one before CoV, one after it released). A serious medic build, to go into areas much higher level than he was, and rez folks...great fun and a great way to meet people.
