What did I do today? Now the day is still young, haven't even had my first coffee yet... but I had a feeling... and checked my Steam pages... Yes, the downvoters are still there, but I also got a one message where all it is about, where all my work is worth the hussle I put in! THIS is where you get payed... One smile or one good word can eliminate all the hate you had to take....
Spent the evening nailing down my entry to the HV tank challenge... Now I have three, and I'm having trouble picking one to enter. MT-866 Seating layout inspired by real-world tanks, you get in via hatches on the top, and the interior spaces are pressurised. That bubble of glass on the right-front corner is for the bow-gunner to use the plasma turret that's squirrelled away in there; closest I could get to a ball-turret. Most capable of the three. Scout Ve-ery small and compact. I feel it's about as small as you can go and still meet the challenge requirements. All sealed seating, and hatches covering (most of) the equipment. Junkyard Rover A re-work of one of my SV challenge entries. Taking out the warp-drive and warp-tank gave me enough room for the passenger seats and all the equipment required by the challenge. Crew are fully exposed! Built this more for shiggles than as an actually effective HV-tank, but I like the aesthetic. Couple of cosmetic tweaks to make if I go for it as my entry. Comments welcome, as I'm really torn.
my vote? the third, indeed for the giggles ;-) nah the second, very nice small scout vessel, you would be definitively the smallest one there! but is this "a tank" ?? the first, yep that qualifies as that, definitive! but it's yours!
Yup, it's armoured against small-arms, all-terrain, and carries a weapon capable of defeating tanks at reasonable ranges; it's a Light Tank. By the definition, though, and because of the game mechanics, *any* armed HV with a sealed cockpit is at least a Light Tank
Uhm, I like them all! Lets reflect, MT-866 - Beefing looking very practical HV tank, if you only can submit one to a challenge this is the one I would go with. Scout - Small size accounts for something! Fast agile and cheap cost. These are your "Zerg Rush" units to keep pumping out and overwhelm with numbers. I really like this one! Junkyard Rover - I feel like a new class type has been discovered with these builds. Maybe these could pave the way for early game progression? Whatever just keep doing this junkyard builds...I think there might be a future challenge involving this exact theme...hint hint! OH and I almost forgot. Just finish them all and upload them they are all worth it! Also makes me rethink not allowing multiple submissions to challenges. No votes anymore maybe keeping the multiple entries the trade off?
Seconded . . . As for scouts, I have a little agile one I just updated but haven't uploaded the updated version yet. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=810695549
Clicked the link, saw the pic, and before I read the craft's title, I thought "That looks like a little lizard, or salamander". Thirded. If that's a thing.
almost time for release Paul is killing it, btw the stats on this tank should be that of a size class 2 or 3 not a 15 or what ever this is, ill be testing it when its done to see if it can take on a drone base alone then our next one will be the mega mining tank! my next personal project is going to be a HV as well, designed after this image without the wheels tho and later this month ill be working on the AEGIS flagship inspiration will be after this image STAY TUNED!
oh my god!!!! ****!!!! that's amazing!! (but yes, class 15 seems absolutely okay to me, WAR-Monger is already Class 3 and not much bigger than this over-sized turret you have there ontop...) and luck to your next project, seems intersting!
thank you, sadly tho im no where skilled enough to try to build AGEIS flagship im hoping paul can at least do the hull for me so its not a blocky disaster and ill be able to do the rest but will see his game time is sporadic and might not have time but as of now i cant do the aegis flagship do to lack of skill. p.s. i also now got 7 people thumbsing down all my projects and its making me a little depressed so im taking a break from building and playing empyrion till 8.0 as of now
I like the HV-base thing. And class 15 for the size is pretty good i think. My HV is size 21 but that has to do with all the devices that are used, but the size is a "little" smaller, and a mining HV-base type of thing. My Roaming base for all needs in even the most dangerous environments (aka war type of scenario) i have in the works is bigger but as far as i see not nearly as big as this thing is.
Ugh. Fine. But the rest y'all Mofo's need to learn how to use Spoiler tabs. I'm tired of 40, 2k res, pictures Spasm-ing upward like Mario scooting up the stairs on his scrotum. Spoiler: UCMC MLS entry I Was going for a 12 sided polygon... I didn't get it. But, due to my 'Box of Legos' style of building I managed to come Up with something I didn't mind and even liked. Basically I was done with cubes and this is what I managed to come up with. Managed to squeeze 20 panels on top... this thing IS a Bit squiffy SI-wise at the access-kiosk on the top landing pad... there used to be an antenna on top.... I planted some tomatoes and it is somewhere on its way to Alpha Proxima, First fruit launched communications satellite I've heard of. The rest is solid enough but I leave it be ...I don't change anything on this jenga style base without careful consideration. Not the smallest door, just a step up though. Inside continued next spoiler. Spoiler: Interior pictures Plenty of parking for small craft. You can squeeze 4-12 of whatever you can get through the door with a little creativity. Furnace in the garage, reasonable place for it. Elevator access on both sides. Leads to the Arboretum and factory floor. 2 Adv constructors, 7 Fridge, FP and a Metric-buttload of storage. 214 farm plots with 2 to 1 plot to light ratio... I've found the growing times to be more consistent. I left some 'Decorative space' Because even I need some place pretty to stand and listen to the news. All in all it isn't very durable. But it is easy to access everything but the core. So hard core 'Don't use the CP' folks should be reasonably pleased. Also I Hate Taking Pictures Rucky.
but now we see some what's inside this cube polygon thingy... and it's worth showing! Hint: Now imagine you would put these pics on the Steam page too and then someone would even look at it!!! just imagine!! back...
I built a new SV and posted it in the workshop (yesterday). http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1323784920
Impressive first steps... better than my first steps. I *was* looking forward to jumping onto an EGS server over this weekend, but of course my internet is further delayed. Going from initial order to 'start' date was about 3 weeks, and typically, there appears to be a fault at the local box, so now it could take up til Monday. IF I'm lucky it'll get done tomorrow but I suspect my luck will hold and it'll end up getting to monday and I'll find out something else needs doing.
A) where do you think the pics are LINKED from. and a SOLID B) I just built the GD thing. There was a Workshop Link for a reason. I don't have a problem with people putting lots of pics in a post. I have a problem with them not keeping them on a Leash (I figured out spoiler tabs and I am only Slightly more clever than a chimpanzee, twice as distract-able and Almost as angry.). Like I have said before, it is Unseemly. Smacks of self-aggrandizement (Something no one needs to work on honestly... everyone has it down PAT), 'Look-at-Me!' and other cries for attention. I know other don't see the issue so think of the poor Talon Guardians ... they are still on Dial-up.
