Since @Jenniphurr showed off her badass space station it gave me an idea to have a joint AEGIS project of our own, me and @Paul Emp will be working on a AEGIS headquarters in the near future tho ill be taking my time on this one having this handicap is a pain to say the least but ill be having eye laser surgery next month and hopefully be back to normal. Our HQ station im hoping is perfect as a home for factions on servers that are at end game and want to get ether into pvp or/and ship building.
Spoiler: Picture After the two challenges i now need a CV to move the Equipment between the stars. As the space will get bigger with 8.0 approaching i plan to build it big. If possible i try to stay inside the requirements for the "1 large generator CV" rules. This ship will be an Dropship type with limited planetary bombardment capabilities. It will get 6-8 bottom turrets therefore and max 2-3 upper one's. So you will have to be on "high ground" for an optimal strike vector. At least 2 Marauder, or SV's on same scale, should be dockable inside. edit: typo
Ok..... partially done..... Spoiler: ;-) Edit: The SV at the bottom is the prefab 1a for size comparison ;-) Edit2: Now i need to figure out how to replace all the small steel blocks with large steel blocks.
replaceblocks ID# HullFullSmall HullFullLarge and replaceblocks ID# HullThinSmall HullThinLarge I think. Hull = normal steel HullArmored = Hardened steel HullCombat = combat steel
Yup. <gamedir>/saves/games/<save game name>/shared/<ID>_<type> Where <ID> is the ID shown on the stats page and <type> is CV, SV, HV or BA. Have your object, SV, place a CV starter block, then log out. Go to that dir and move (copy actualy) the AREA files from your SV folder to your CV folder. Log back to the game, et voila hth
Thanks, a bit late though ;-) Look second post above yours. Thank you. How do i find out which id that is?
open console type in "di" without "" look at object (15 meters? max away) or type in "ents" without "" that lists all entities, now search for your structure
Thanks rucky. Somehow it doesn't work. Got the id (id=4) but when i replace the # from sieges post it only says: Error parsing entity id
you can't replace small blocks into large blocks for a SV or HV that will only work f.e. if you want to replace standard steel hull blocks into hardened steel hull blocks... if you want to change the CLASS of the vessel you need to do the trick @Sephrajin wrote above ;-)
That is actually what i did. I copied the files from the SV into the CV folder. But it just scaled the blocks but hitpoints are the same (hit points from the SV).
@Arrclyde, try replacing blocks on the SV, then copy to the other structure. I tried that with the TAC's Andromeda, making a SV out of a CV. (The SV was too large, and the CV (17) too small ) Now that is some time ago, and i do not recall wether I did change the blocks before or after the copying. EDIT: You can see the ID used on the 'Staticits' screen of any structure in the lower left corner, just aside of the creators name.
Well that is the problem: before you can not place other blocks as it shows in the multitool "Steelblock S 25/25" and the new blocks i placed are "Steelblocks L 500/500". Maybe i didn't write the replaceblock command correctly, some missing letter or so. Anyway... My big SV fits nicely under the nose of the CV version of it, just like the prefab SV fits under the wing of my SV. :-D So i let this project rest, because as it seems i have to replace. every. block. by. hand.
Got to use the replace blocks command. HERE You can find the true block name, as far as the game is concerned for console commands, in the localization folder in empyrion game files. Search for the name of the block in the text file as listed by your MT and the name for it in commands will be listed somewhere to the Left.
IT WORKED!!! You could have written that the programm doesn't need to know what the number means.... for dumb people like me. I always tried to do it this way: replaceblocks ID13 HullFullSmall HullFullLarge when replaceblocks 13 HullFullSmall HullFullLarge is what is needed. Thanks for all of your help people.... best community on the planet. ;-)
Well, there goes that idea. I had been working on a design very very similar to that. Well done, I love them. I might still work on mine, but it'll need a redesign so it doesn't look like I copied yours . . Yup, but make sure you have all SV Exclusive parts off or bugs can develop . . . they may still develop doing it that way but it's the easiest.
yup, that's one of the problems that can crop up. the blocks retain their sv values. That's why I always rebuild block by block when I upsize, tedious but more satisfying knowing you actually build it instead of cloned it.
so far AEGIS HQ is under way with @Paul Emp and me working out the kinks and refinment here is what we got so far
