1.0 update of my AEGIS HQ is live! -redid entire insides -redid all textures -made a crafting room with 4 forges and 2 more advanced constructors -made a growing plot room -cut the size class down to 10 for server use http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1334584669 also i continued a smaller station/ dock and got this done so far
Just did some tests to be sure... I put durians in these two 3x3 patches at the same time and waited : After a while only the one on the right had results (stage 2) : It is still feasible to have only 1 block spacing over the side plants, but the middle one has to be 2 because the light takes one full space. I made a garden like this in one of my bases but had to make holes for the lights, so I put small cargo boxes over them. And the block I was suggesting to close the roof was this one (2 blocks actually) :
Someone exhaustively tested this..However it is somewhere in WdydiEt? I looked for 30 mins, but you are welcome to resume the search.
Yeah I looked but couldn't find it. Thanks though! The changes I made turned out pretty good I think. Time to sleep on it and see if I still feel the same tomorrow.
@rainyday made a small ship, the Little Red Rocket, with grow plots "on the walls" which were in fact on the "ground plane" since the ship was built as a standing rocket (p. 238 of this thread here). https://empyriononline.com/threads/what-did-you-do-in-empyrion-today.2826/page-238#post-137328 I did tests myself afterwards in space, trying to rotate the core, ship, etc, with no success.
Ok I have been mighty busy with work and other responsibilities, so I haven't been able to play as much as I want to. But now I have some free time again I am hard at work on stuff. So I have been working full force on Project Daedalus. But first I need to put out a quick build this week so I am working on a simple Cargo Hauler CV. It will be a more simple Modular design to carry ZeroG approved Cargo Boxes. So here are some screens! The cargobox is still a wip and for right now its more of a placeholder until i complete the CV. I am going full asymmetrical on this design. Although I wasn't going to at first was more along the lines of that space 1999 ship you always see. So I am settling on this design. Right now I am like 50% complete with this design, just fyi.
1.1 update is live! -after much teaching from JRS86 and Jen from ZeroG final draft of textures are in -added in aesthetics like wall struts and supports thanks to ZeroGs help -fixed growing plot room -added a turn off/on all weapons trigger in command room thanks to JRS86 teaching me triggers -fixed lighting -cargo room buffed up in aesthetics -cut growing plots cost in half http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1334584669
All I can say to this is, it's fantastic to see you putting some real time & love into your work. The effort shows, it's a gorgeous build. New designs, same stylish "Zero-G" flare! Feels like it needs a lot more texture work though - I don't think the usual clean/smooth palette is going to work as well for a utility hauler. I do love the sidecar look to the cargo section, don't think I've seen an asym freighter yet. Spoiler (For some reason, it kinda makes me think of a football player with the ball)
After 7 hours i give you AEGIS Stealth Corvette http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1336633334 it was a easy build and also a small one like its only size class 3, so it took as much time as a HV tank build i guess.
I finished Weezlgate SG-1 today. It's a class 9 CV with 120 grow plots, a full hangar deck for HVs and a wraparound flight deck for SVs. Even as big as it is, I had to turn off half the thrusters I installed because they weren't necessary. That's the bridge all the way at the top and the view from there is awesome. =) To put it in perspective, that green ship on the flight deck is a class 3 SV. I designed and built it in survival mode on Akua.
Thanks, but I can't take credit for Nam. I spent the early 70's in Germany. My respects to your uncle.
lol so spent all night fixing up AEGIS HQ and even built a corvette, our next project is ether a cargo ship or a dropship later today or this week depending on when my good friend paul can get on
So made some progress to the cargo hauler tonight. Played around with some textures, @Kieve don't worry I am planning on texturing this out still trying to get the shape together. I spent most of my time tonight working on the cargo cartridge itself. most of the exterior is making me happy but I still have to work on the interior still. Anyways here is an updated picture of the Pezz Dispenser: Also here is a shot of the rear section, I am kinda liking this so I might work on that tomorrow.
I finished up the Theseus Explorer today. Despite my little setback I think it turned out better for it. I was able to keep the elements I really liked from the original design of the engine compartment and I think I ended up with a better design overall.
