im hating how i did the hull on that ship to many ugly angles so i put it on hold atm me and Paul are going to be working on a cargo CV first then a offical AEGIS dropship for pvp then ill go back to it, but thank you any support and feed back on builds is highly welcomed
I think I finally decided on the exterior. Hoping it compliments the "glow" of the farm lighting. Spoiler: Pics The green to compliment to the purple of the grow lights. The blue goes with the green and gives a connection for the glow of the thrusters. A view of the combined night glows. I am supposed to be finishing my builds, not getting distracted some more, but I cannot seem to stop....
There are so many incompatible elements that can not easily be exchanged between CVs and SVs, which is better advised against the copy of .area files in this case - the consequences for game, server and client are unpredictable. :-(
You just copy in a new file to create a new blueprint. DON'T ever do this in a file that you use to play. Yes there are many incompatible elements: basically all windows, doors, thrusters etc. So it is basically the hull, a few blocks like ramps, spotlights and cargoboxes, that are compatible. I just eliminated the thousand RCS and thrusters and the other stuff, changed the blocks from small vessel to large vessel blocks, and it works. To be clear about the Avalon (this is how i named it) it is NOTHING for any sever game. I actually plan on using this in the future for my final trip to Empyrion in single player as some kind of mega luxury mobile base to the farest point of the know universe.... or something like that. I am not even half way through with the interior on the CV version yet and it already is size 13. But after all it is a building game so dreaming big is more or less the key interest here..... and for survival: you need something to work towards, right? ;-) Right now i put it to rest until (probably) 8.0 hits the servers. I have a couple of other, more survival fitting projects that need to be finished first since some of my friends will join me soon. Right now i only have a couple of HVs finished, a handful of SVs one base (two in the works) and no CVs. Although i must say i build a small, mid size and a bigger CV side by side simultaneously.
worked more on my First Order Dreadnought soe more tho to finish it ill be exceeding size class 10 so i made a cheapo one for the sbs server
Yeah, I like that, too. i was long gone when the Cougar came out (in the US, we called ours the Stryker). Nice turret, but I don't think it suited the combat engineer role.
Today (actually, yesterday), i decided to set forth and build a CV of my own (I hope) design. I'm dubbing it the CV-401 'ACHILLES'. (side note: the numbering of my CVs is a homage to the game 'Independence War' whose protagonist ship was the CNV-301 Dreadnaught. I couldn't fit the whole number on the side of my previous ship, and since it WAS a CV, I dropped the 'N'.) But I digress. I was in a bookstore a few days ago when I came upon a book about the game "HALO". Inside I found a picture of a ship, the ass-end....err, I mean stern of which inspired me to create a new ship of my own. It won't be a replica but the ass,,,,I mean AFT end of the ship will be roughly a loose interpretation that somewhat resembles the ship in the book I wish I had taken pics of the keel being laid when I started. it's still a WIP and while I've designated sertain sections, it's still seat-of the pants, design-on-the-fly. I have an idea but not quite sure where I'm going with it.
After finishing (for the seventh time... or more) the Full Version of my IRON HAWK, I added some of the texture and shape changes to the Special Early Access Version for the CV-Challenge too: Wings are still open in this version, but full used in the upgrade The Challenge-Version can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1326222167
You would not be wrong. I didn't want to do an exact replica(there are plenty of really good ones on the workshop already) but I liked the general design. The engines in back are all Battlestar Galactica though. Been working on the Argos Transport today. And what would a transport be without something to haul.
