yes, the ULTRA Challenge is indeed a very demanding challenge... for your computer! lowest grafics settings, nothing running in the background... and you get some 15+ FPS... I do recommend the 2. Challenge, it's a good mix. I've just beaten it (again ) this time recorded and now uploading. Time used: 35min. Beaten on HARD with my Iron Hawk Small Dropship This is so much FUN! Only these fu$&ing Bugs (Weapon-Reloading and Morphings) are really frustrating. Funny Fact you will see here: ONE Bug can remove another BUG ;-) This time I thought I got lucky as the BASESTAR OMARON II (hardest enemy in the Scenario) is ghosting (the third Bug occuring always in Combat...)... then suddenly I got the Morphing bug on me and as I stood very near the Omaron II it started shooting with its 40++ turrets on me ;-) oh yes.... But guys, now imagine... this game will develop... and imagine such scenes without errors and bugs!!! Who needs new Star Wars films I ask you?!!! (uploading will take some time though...) The Ultra difficulty is possible to win, but you have to be very strategic for that, and as already said, no background things, including recording...
Guys, forget STAR WARS cinema movies for space battles... EMPYRION is the new reference!! (sadly also for bugs...)
I have an HV that does that. I have to wiggle the thing back and forth to get it to leave the ground or else wait for the booster to charge and launch it.
My guess/theory on what is happening is that when the hovers come into contact with a surface they don't "see" that as a surface to hover on. Like the hover engines are looking just a little bit out from their bottom for a surface, and whey they are placed directly on a surface that point is just below, so they don't function. If you tip it back/forward (or side to side) they should "see" the surface, and pop up to proper hover height. I subbed to it to test it and with the docking pad, the hovers functioned fine (because they weren't directly touching the ground), but if I took the docking pad off the hover engines didn't work unless I tipped it back a bit (by just sliding mouse back and forward - using the RCS) so the hovers would rise enough to see the platform.
Been working on my entry for the next ZeroG Challenge! Here is my Phantom-X Hover Racer, I love working on these small builds. Still a bit more work to do but I am very happy with its performance and styling. What to take part in the Challenge? Be sure to visit the ZeroG Build Challenge Thread here: https://empyriononline.com/threads/zerog-challenge-build-01-hover-racer-base.36932/#post-225523
Alien Turrets got a big buff to their ability to track Targets better & Turn Rate & such... SV Combat against them still viable, but not as easy as before. It'll be so epic when someday we can make our own Star Wars-like Battles. ^_^
I would say you need Jedi-like Powers to overcome the OMF Sector Fleet (2nd) even more the Attack Force in the 3rd Challenge... (assuming you don't use some cheating PVP-death cubes, but still then you will have a hard very hard time!) yep +1 but what's mostly the problem isn't the framedrops or performance, it's THREE BUGS that ALWAYS getting me there. If these were gone, these battles that already are possible (check my 2nd Video!) are more than enough for a very good fight!
I've been curious to try my Deathmaw in that Scenario... but I have to wait for the Weekend to end first... can't do fun stuff like that when Dad's home. >_< Also, Bookmarked a LOT of Vids here for later watching when I have time.

I have been trying go back and clean up some of my earlier "X" series ships. Huntress-X is my personal go-to/favorite ship to use so I have been working on that one more. I have been cleaning up the interiors to make them more refined looking and also cleaning up and adding new textures to both insides and out. Here is a screen of the interior thus far: I am also adding in some more logic and as with my recent Gorman and Frost units, I have put a performance type mode as well. Full power and low power modes as well. As for the exterior again I am cleaning up the textures and reworking a few block placements. Even moved and added some more RCS to help tweak the handling just a bit more. More importantly I want to improve the braking performance on this ship. Its already pretty good but I want more performance from it. I am also toying with adding a third weapon to this as well, just not really sure if I'll have room for it. Here is what I have of the exterior so far: I don't want to drastically change Huntress-X more than give it a mid model year refresh. And in case if you were wondering, Huntress-X is inspired by the ship Samus Aran used in the Metroid Series. Even the name is a play on that bit of info as well (female bounty hunter).
I did this yesterday... about 7 hours after the initial shape was done. Basically made for MP servers. Not a pvp ship but tough enough to run away from them and dispatch space POI's and NPC vessels The WY-Solar System Patrol Vessel.
Someone said PVP ships? RELEASE THE QUACKEN! Comes with complimentary base attack SV, the angry bird:
