now that the old mining system is back in the ground i hope @rainyday breaks out more of his epic PSI builds!
No, it's not really done. I don't want it to be a speedster- it's a utility truck- but it's still a bit too sluggish. Won't be 100% working until/unless we get moving/rotating blocks, either
Haven't done much serious building lately since I'm on experimental and it's iterating pretty quickly. Might start that back up again once 8 goes stable. But, oh man, the lovely little cabin by Friendly Timo and the two awesome saunas by hound and Friendly Timo again (shared by Starwing6) have me wanting to share my own Ningues-themed build. I'm from the US Northwest (Oregon), so mine is an A-frame! Which I awkwardly crammed 2 awkward little turrets on. Awkwardly. Spoiler It's all iron and concrete, so wood texture options are limited, but it worked out okay. It's nice to be able to use narrow airtight blocks like corner posts and windows to make the transparent external doors seal. I hope a Ningues-style planet comes back as a start option some day. Edit: Sorry, uploaded the wrong (way too large) version of the 3rd image, should be fixed now.
The Husk is almost ready to be uploaded, here's a sneak preview: Not close enough? Fine. Spoiler: Close shot
dont get me wrong, very good job, but id hate 1 drones comes around toit and thats it, if you dont get turret ammo, its gone VERY epic my dude cant wait to try it
Thank you! But it's no more vulnerable than any of my other builds, really, and I've had no real issues with drones on those. It's actually a bit tougher than the base I use most frequently (so many windows, and thin block roofs), which I've not had problems with. It does look like wood, but it's intentionally made of steel and concrete, since wood blocks die horribly if you so much as sneeze Significantly limits wood-texture options and increases cost, but boosts hitpoints. While the roof-eaves are a thin block with half hp, the roof itself is made of blocks which count as full thickness. The windows, to be fair, are a little weak as they're basic windows, but that's upgradable once you've got some Sathium. The foundation is 2 blocks thick, partly to help with placement, but also so that the core could be protected from below (stupid glitchy drones) had I ever gotten around to moving the core from where it was on initial build. Thanks for the reminder to do that!
The pool is a nice trim around the edges of one of the natural hot springs. @Friendly Timo was collecting resources or hunting, and on his way back to camp he spotted a location where he could leap from the mountain into the hot springs. I hope we'll find a place like that again one day. Very nice! You can use the force field emitter to seal the glass doors also--depending on the needs of the individual design of course. The snow planets are so inspiring! I also plan on building a special base inspired by a ski lodge, and a new moon base designed for the ice moon. Speaking of the force field emitters, I intend to make use of them to seal a secret escape route out of the base--just for fun. And now I just got a stupid idea for a real chimney you can jump down through.
Ok, I think it's finally finished! Hereby I present: The T4-Husk! It's a full on end game CV, with nearly everything a CV can have on it. Spoiler: More pictures More pictures are on the workshop page. I hope you like it.
Squadron up: With all the good loot I've been getting from POIs I completed a wing of heavy fighters. The orginal with the blue stripe has 2 gatling guns and 4 railguns with 4 rocket launchers when you really need to get your point across. In keeping with Clan battletech strategy there are 3 additional variants outside of the prime. (L) in red with railguns swapped for lasers (P) in green with railguns swapped for plasma cannons (R) in gold - recon variant - most weapons stripped back, thrusters re-arranged and twice the fuel capacity. Minimal cargo space.
Another star wars build incoming, this was more of a upgrade to my good pal @Haro CR90 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1396442948
