I'm working on this floating lab POI for a while. When I started I wanted to make something small, then growth to this massive structure. The interiors still take a good bit of time to shape and furnish.
Today in Empyrion, I was obsessing the whole day over an upcoming, yet unnamed SV for the Dreschner Corporation's Wyvern -fleet. She is going to be a rather large SV, biggest I've made so far, and to be having a purpose of maintaining a work crew of 8 for a long duration missions, be them raiding POI's, mining or exploring a planet. Technically it even has two floors to it I did combine a whole lot of cool ideas that I've seen done in various other designs and I do admit that a lot of the functional elements and inspiration I did take from @rainyday creations. I was really impressed by the "combat mode" he did previously with his HV design, PSI PHT-7 Routa. So I wanted to do the cockpit in a similar fashion but adapted for SV design. Idea is to have clear visibility from the cockpit having it in casual mode, but engaging the combat mode, there would be shutters that covers the windows to create extra layer of protection. I had to redesign the cockpit 5 times to make it right so I would be finally satisfied with it! Casual mode on: Spoiler: More pictures Combat mode engaged: Gosh I love these new thrusters Although I threw in most of the generators, fuel, oxygen and RCS's to the backside of the ship, I did cluster some of each all around the ship for couple reasons: To prevent massive chain explosions in an event of a breach, and ensure the functionality of the ship under extreme conditions. So far the field tests have been proven that this ship can limp out of after 80 rockets and 200 plasma rounds fired upon it randomly. Although that was a serious beating it took, it was still functional, yet not life sustaining in hostile climate.
So here I was, about to go head out, zooming along in an HV set at 1.6m and in first person view. I head out the door and... Fu... *sigh* Always happens right before an adventure, somebody go get the hose!
ZeroG-Drop-Base-L Now with more Base! Wub Wub Wub~ Pretty much twice the size and one block higher than the previous one. Also just shy of 12 mins build time so yay!
Thank you very much. I try to make the inside interesting to play. I'm currently figuring out secrets, traps, cunning sentry turrets.
Nice smooth lines and integration of the new thrusters. It gives the impression of a CV-sized ship. Like!
OK @StyleBBQ , you wanted more dropship, so I took some pics as we headed out to re-explore Wetia... that's our starter planet, it's all opaque now- we never fully explored it before the infamous base glitch sent us packing... Spoiler: More pixely goodness
*The vids at the local tavern all fizzle in a multi-colored array* *The image then transitions to a 4-limbed mammalian race with two slightly grey eyes set on two stalks above a larger mass* "We come to you live from the head news desk at the Galactic News Network.
