The first one definitely, I love having my engines at a slight angle. Reminds me of some of my own CV's, like the shard and carapace.
I can't answer this. To be honest don't see much resemblance to the Akira, i'actually see a little bit of the Nova class from some angles. I actually tried to stay away from any direct likeness to a specific ship class, altough i really love how Starfleet ships have specific sections for different puropses. Any of my attempts to create something vaguely good looking, automaticly results in a ship that somehow resembles a existing Starfleet ship class in some way. Most (good looking) combinations of shapes have already been used in some way. As i said somewhere, i'd like to stay away from too much Star Trek associations, i (still) try to find something unique that doesn't scream Star Trek too loud, but still looks good in my eyes.
Finally got around to "finish" off the Orbital base i have been working on lately (got slightly interrupted since I've started watching Stargate SG-1 for the n'th time again ). NSI Aeris (this base was made for the NSI Nidus specifically, but the landing deck should be big enough to accommodate most CV's). Workshop-Link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1622494728 With the Nidus docked.. Good space on the main deck Space for SV's in the unload/loading-dock as well Now... time for Taco and some more SG-1 (was actually gonna start over on the Atlantis-series.. but i cant for the life of me find that storage ^^)..
Well you’ve definitely made a good looking ship. Nice work. It would be nice if eventually Eleon could provide different types of power systems and faster than light drives. So that you could if you wanted build a virtual warp drive or even slip stream drive. For example: for drive systems you could have: Warp drive. Slipstream drive. Hyperdrive FTL Drive But I’ve got to admit the one thing I’d really like to see is a solar sail set up. A ship driven by a solar sails would be beautiful. This is the only example of a large solar sailor I could find.
Having a variety of different FTL systems to choose from would be really nice! Each one could have different requirements (power requirements or even ship minimum size for example) and additional parts (like warp coils from Star Trek for example, which would be needed to be placed far away from the living area of the ship. Thus the need for nacelles.) A solar sail could be used for traveling inside a solar system, between planets for example. That would allow some really interesting ship designs for sure!
This would be awesome and I would totally demand sails for my HV boats along with that haha The solar sail idea reminds me of benjamin and jake cisco on the trip to cardassia aboard that little bajoran solar ship.
A good point different power systems + drives could have diffing effects. A FTL drive could be for really large ships & takes a long time to recharge. A hyper drive could be for scot class vessels with a very short recharge. A Slipstream drive could be used repeatedly, but you’d have to navigate through subspace to get to your destination and it doesn’t always guarantee that you’d end up at your wanted destination. A warp drive could be used repeatedly, but is very large, a lot of components and requires antimatter to power it. Local solar system drives could consist of: Rockets, a basic drive that requires a lot of fuel. Ion drives, requires a lot of energy. Impulse drives, works in similar way to rockets, but use crystals instead of fuel and are a lot more powerful. Finally a solar sail set up. Yes it’s slow but high in stealth.
I know but it shows the concept can suit ships of all sizes, in case @EleonGameStudios wanted further thought along the subject of solar sails
They are all nice. 1 reminds me of Star Trek, 5 reminds me of the Orville. I think I will throw my vote on 1, 2, & 5.
