Had a bit of a brain fart while working on the Sand Galley. The 1st and, more or less, standard Edition will be the Mk.1, requires Level 15, 6 Miniguns, 2 Rocket Launchers, 1 Salvage Turret, 3 Gatling's. 2 CC 8500 each, 1 CC Harvest, 1 CC 875 for Fuel and O². CC Ammo 2000. Changed the Texture of the Hull. The 2nd Version will be the "Siege", requires Level 20, Changes are Salvage Turret in the Nose, Artillery Turret on top, Gatling's, Miniguns and Rocket Launchers are the same. Internal increased Volume of Main CC to almost 20k, CC Fuel to 1500, moved O² Tank to a lower Position.
@Germanicus Only an idea, how about sending the siege variant to XCaliber for his new designer challange for march? He wants to see HV that can salvage POIs with Volume/Mass enabled... Oh, and looking great what i can see from the screenies!!
I started building a really large CV in survival and it's a little easier than I thought it would be although because of it's in survival it takes a while because of the drone. The funny part about it is, this is just a shell with one generator, fuel tank, capitals chair and 5 small thrusters I used to get the back end of the ship on the landing pad because the ship is bigger than the landing pad I built.
Yes she does. I am going to have to upgrade the hull after I finish because I'm only using steel blocks but I plan on upgrading to harden steel for the ship and combat steel for the cage after I finish building it. I changed the outside just a little. I'm thinking of having something like pipes or something running in between the cage eand the ship itself to give it a survival look. I want to ship to look like it was piece together.
Think i got the vibe of it. A bit of mixing the different hull textures we have can help by seperating the parts. Piping is always fine, at least for me. Don't think there is any build from me that goes without it
Here are pictures from Creative Mode where the changes took place. Focus on the Siege Version. inside views at Daylight Night time Stats
I have this "bug" for a while now...listens to the name of AQUILA. Its a cheap Recon SV, suitable for most Starter-Planet environments. Just remind yourself (not like @XCaliber ) to take some O² and Food with you on Recon. AQUILA has no Weapons. Only what you are carrying with you. Spaceflight is not recommended.
And while I was on it... the weapon wise reduced version of the (SV) ERIDANUS, removed 4 Laser and 4 Railguns, reducing Level required from 20 to 17(Truster L 3x10x3). Reconfigured...again...the Cargo Hold, reduced the number of CE's, increased Generators and Fuel Tanks...still enough space to double those up. Still only theoretical capabilities as I had so far no chance to test the max. W/V for the ERIDANUS *sigh*.
Today I made a short video of a little cruise across the planet atlantis on HWS server. Using the Sunseeker 750 HV yacht ^-^ I pass from night to day in the 5 minute video, also nearly hit by resource meteor haha. Made the vid to share in HWS to show the community a boat on water Figured I would share it here too, it is a lovely planet. edit: oh and thanks @EleonGameStudios for the addition of cruise control
Been slacking off due to work lately but I made a desert village plus some auxiliary POIs for it. It's a pretty planet so far.
Today, help has arrived. (one of the advantages of a small CV). What? The Derelict Ship has been updated and all the visible spawners in the have been replaced with "invisible" ones? It's fun when you are expecting one thing and find something else. There are even more hidden loot boxes. On a side note, to whoever made the Elders Tomb. I thought I was safe, I thought there were no critters, that it was just a Talon base. Then I stumbled into the tunnels... ARACHNOPHOBIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spent some time in creative today, bouncing around projects again. Worked on a CV, not pictured, and then decided it was time to consider updating the Nymph Rest BA. Past time I gave it solar, especially now that you can have more than one battery. The SV/HV trick to add storage to a BA or CV is not as practical as it once was. However, I saw a nice example where CVs were being used as modules to allow a base to have far more than 7500 CPU in storage without the base itself having more than 7500 CPU. Yes, the brick CV does fit. This was actually afterwards. At first when I went to move the CV to get this picture, I was confused why it wouldn't budge. Then I remembered to go open the bay doors to let it back out of the base. Now if we could have CV to CV docking....
For now I will ignore the CPU value till we get more info about it. If it comes as a hard limit, then future CV/BA builds from me will get SV/HV for storage. At the moment I build my first HV miner with V/M enabled. Man, that's a whole other dimension you need to get the minerals home... No ladybug anymore
I've been playing around with the current CPU limits and if they stay at the current levels then it won't be such a big deal. I can still do everything I usually do in survival but it takes me a little longer to take bases apart because storage counts against your CPU.
Raided a few POIs and finished outside of the CV for now .. I wanted the CV to have a survival look like it's been patched up with scrap metal and old parts from other ships. Like the ship was maybe found and patched up enough to get it working.
Now as for mining. You are correct about that. With CPU and VM enabled Mining will take multiple trips.
@banksman45 The yellow pipes are a nice contrast against the rusty red of the hull and a cool worktower on the first pic! Only the last cage looks a bit off for me... ---- The Drill Hammer is tested and working for me now. Only a few decorative textures and a bit of hull completing to be done. The drillarms I'am not sure about, maybe a bit too nuts for this build but this isn't a beauty any way. It has 2 Ore CCs with 16895 volume each and a ammo CC with 1609 volume. While testing i even managed to rotate her in the fresh dug out hole. And something i observed while testing dif arm and hover configurations: By widen the arms the ground has become somewhat even now and the bloody rolling while digging has almost stoped
