This looks very promising! I like the bottom design. Are you using cc/ce? Do you want it m/v capable? If both is yes, id suggest to go for like 120m/s lift off thrust at least, as of now.
So far 2 x 320k CC/CE are installed. The Vessel is still missing its Aft-Section. There I intend to place two more XL Truster. Anyway, thx for the tip
Tonight I finished up my submission for Xcaliber's May designer challenge. It's a size 6 space station built to act as a hub for factions in their planetary looting. I also painted it to match my StarRunner CV Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
Had a bit of a set back yesterday on the Helios Station. Lets just say that when I respawned it in a new save it was getting cut off. So I had to regroup to solve that issue. The Helios Station was always meant to be 3 separate components to the entire structure. I wanted to keep the 3 part to be a bit of a surprise but, I had to solve the size problem that I overlooked. So here we go! Now at first glance you might think that its pretty much the same huh? Well ya it sorta is...at least for now. So far the Station is named Helios, and the CV arms are the Hyperions. Well the third structure is the lower sections and is named Apollo. And as you can see here the Apollo is another CV that docks to the underside of the Helios structure. Thus forming the entire Helios Station. Anyways I need some rest for the night so I'll continue work tomorrow~
I was unaware this was a composite entity; very clever! If the docking system is ever redone to allow sharing of resources throughout a docking chain, this station will definitely be able to take advantage of it. Question: are the weapons on the arm CVs functional?
I uh, made some elevators today. Spoiler So yeah I made a couple 'fake' elevators. If you look in the background you can see one of them on the central column too. The ones in the foreground enclose an actual elevator that connects the habitat rings to the subway. Oh yeah the subway got two more stops. Fun fact! You can actually enter the elevator cars in the foreground even though they don't do anything. I also started laying out the interior of the habitat rings. I'm basically moving a bunch of stuff from the outer edge of the station's sub levels to the habitat rings(theater, park, sports arena, crew quarters, etc) so I can expand the number of hangar bays. It's going to work out nicely but oh man do I have a ton of stuff to do. On the upside if I get bored working on one area I can just switch to another one.
Yeah I thought the same thing at first. Definitely a cool idea plus it looks awesome(especially with everything docked).
Ya the Hyperions are fully equipped Capital Ships. Complete with armaments on them. They are designed to be there own contained city per say. They have inner hull area that is able to house plenty of fighters. Full stock and ready repair and building area. The upper deck area is able to have other CV's land onto the Hyperion. Full set of crew quarters. Vast bridge and operations area. Engine Warp and core rooms. Recreation areas, bar and cafeteria area. Officer quarters, full medical center and observation decks. Spared no expense!
I did not expect less from You and your marvelous Build - as said before: I love that Color Scheme of Yours very much! Enjoy some well earned Rest!
I have that since I noticed the size restriction for Doors So I use Force Fields instead to "seal-off" larger openings
Now you might end up having 1280k su while bearing about 2.5 to 3 g when its done. You decide if that's what you want. No math has been done in this post, just an 'educated' guess. (I hope )
Curiosity: Do ya have those Force Fields on a Lever so ya can turn them off if the visitor turns out to be a Solicitor?
Today I revisited the my Janus heavy carrier after I realized that I was not completely happy with how the forcefields on the upper landing pad looked. ... then I had to decide what block would fill the gap the best, this is not an exact fit but I hope it works. Then I realized that the right-side hangar bays are too short, so I went through moving the entire structure back 1 block and then fixing engineering because the right side changed. Uploaded the changes, then realized that I missed re-texturing 1 block. <sigh>
