Trying to get some amusing/grotesque ship designs ready, for if they ever go back to giving the PvE players love. And that seems to be a big 'if' right now...
I know it doesn't look like it but I won the battle against a Drone base. LOL Well I won but my HV didn't win. lol
Ouch. What did it look like before you poked the drone-badger? I'm not sure I understand what you mean?
Right now, the Dev's are focused on the PvP players. All the PvE stuff (PoI's, alien blocks/weapons, broken drone spawning, i-have-a-list) hasn't been updated for quite some time.
Today, discovered an odd bug where my SV will blow out one of the front windows when the miniguns are used.
Built another small starter HV. Given the low-tech nature, it can be built at level 3 with minimal resources. Built an SV as well, but I'm not totally happy with it and will probably make changes. Other than that, put some more work into the Oscutune HV Race Track and also realized it works quite well for Motorcycles too
That... is... cool... Ya volunterring to clean up all the carnage I leave in my wake? & here I am totally still sucking hard at making Micro-Anything & not being any good at Racing...
that's not true actually, some of the POIs have new blocks, and I don't think they were converted automatically. drone spawning is probably in relation how unloaded chunks don't always update properly (like you come back to your planet's base, half the fuel's gone but food didn't grow and the constructor is still processing the 1k ores you queued an hour earlier...) EDIT: just checked, migotzu orbital hub has new blocks and some of them are definitely not simple cubes. otoh there are still alpha block as well, which means it was either done by hand and certain alpha blocks kept for their texture( +orientation) or they updated it quickly with their tools internally which does more than the replaceblocks coommand we got but still not 100%.
What did I do today? Hmm, I've been playing a few other games and finally came back to check out the updates. Started a new game, walked around the wilderness checking things out, picked a bunch of seaweed, found the Talon Temple, then looked at the map after about 30 min of game play. Yes, I played 30ish min without looking at the map once. Realized the lake I walked to was in an amusing shape, but I could not continue with this seed (I don't know the number, so don't ask) because the lake was shaped like a giant ding dong. Yes, this planet was very obviously male. Gotta love procedural generation, lol. Starting a new game now.
Lots of emphasis on MP. Which is fair, since the early game improvements were all about SP. It would be nice to have some basic story progression to play with though.
I just found the same and wrote a bug report. Any window placed near the gatlings will cause the gatling bullets to bounce off the window and not hit a target. I replicated it with the t1 SV BP provided by just placing a window block on the nose in front of the cockpit. The two gatlings are mounted off to the sides and not at all in line with the window but bullets bounce off the window and are blocked from hitting a target.
I've spent today looking at blueprint designs and reading forums doing the research part of R&D so I can try and make better starter bases.
The SV is complete! Posting to Ship Sharing Thread soon enough! Spoiler Alert: This SV came damn close to reaching 500 Tons of Mass... It's the new slowest & heaviest SV i've ever made. Also, the amount of Ammo Boxes currently needed to supply Ammo for 4 Rail Guns is freaking insane...
Someone commented that the Selene resembled a larger version of the M44 Hammerhead (of Mass Effect 2). So I decided, "what the heck, why not?" and tried building an actual M44 replica. Not sure if I'll keep going with it, too many little details that don't mesh, and despite 4 mass-blocks in the front, it still wants to tip the nose up. Otherwise though, handles pretty much the same as the one from ME2. Made of steel, because anyone who drove the thing will also remember it was basically made of tissue paper.
