That motorcycle literally launched my character into orbit while I was driving around and fell into a hole, the very first time I played the game. I didn't even know what happened, level 5 and poof, I'm flying through the air and then I'm in orbit. The only vehicle I had was the motorcycle. That damn motorcycle chased a faction member down the street with my new plasma launcher, too.
The NPC freighters were a good addition. The problem is that they carry hardly any freight; the salvage from the ship itself is worth more than what's inside. Please add more than a couple ingots and a handful of ore to make privateering worth it.
Instead of repeating the top 3 for the umpteenth time... I definitely agree with those.... How about the orange pole walls? I think they were mentioned once or twice but they are reeeaaalllyyyy annoying! Not just because we can't go there... Several times I've dodged my way into a wall I forgot was there, at least once I backed into it with my SV while dodging turret fire and ended up upside down on the ground with a drone punching me repeatedly with rockets while I rocked and rolled around on the ground like a turtle on its shell.... yes very annoying. I know this is supposed to be on the road map, maybe we could lose those sooner than later? I would gladly restart from scratch to get that upgrade! Thanks guys, excellent work, always look forward to the updates, and awesome game! Edit, not really a single task action... but still annoying nonetheless.
1. Not being able to bind hotkeys to whatever functions we want. Ex: Bind a hotkey to activate/deactivate thrusters, RCS, etc. eliminating the need to use the control panel every time. 2. Repairing ships block by block/figuring out which blocks were destroyed. 99% of the time I just scrap damaged vessels because it takes less time to factory a new one than it would to repair. 3. Having to scrap vessels block by block. What about something like the mining turret for CV/HV that would scrap from long range with splash "damage" and/or a repair bay type block for CV/BA that would break a vessel down into components & put them in a designated collector box? Obviously the scrap turret could only work on things without cores to prevent it being used as a weapon & the scrap block would only work on things you could land on it.
Managing the groups in the control panel for BA/CV/SV, having the names reset when we autogroup or just simply moving from one group to the other. A nightmare with a large group.
It's a toss-up between having to salvage things block-by-block or the grindy inventory-shuffling of the fuel system. -In fact, I think I'll go with inventory shuffling in general. The constant fiddly busywork of moving stuff from one inventory to another really needs an overhaul. Some kind of unified per-construct inventory, with an option to tell a constructor to take resources from container X, and place finished products in container Y, would be a big improvement for me.
One I haven't seen mentioned. Trying to park CVs in defense formations is hard and annoying since they tend to bump into each other causing damage. Their collision boxes can be misleading based on what you see visually as well.
- Mining underwater meteoroids -> handheld drills have almost no effect on roids these days + hv's refuse to work under water - Searching res in your sv: Poi Bases have turrets turrets covered by trees. -> especially in new games devastating loss of gear can be expected. The Setting is believable but at least a warning eg turret lock on would be nice to be aware there's a danger.
Explaining server rules to new players aka work like Sisyphus -> cb commands are hard to get for new players (and not limited to new players). Chat is also full with public talk and all kinds of text clutter. Solution -> Add an info Tab/Pda to the menu where admins can explain the important stuff like wipe schedules and PvE/PvP Rules.
Flying long distances -> eg cycling over a moon to search crystal fields or rare ore sites -> after a work day on the PC you get even more physical stress to your fingers while constantly pushing the "W" key. Solution: good old 0-100% settings or smth like a key/key combo for "continious". Which could be also used for mining or even firing a turret. Good to know but most ppl dont know that or dont care especially if they're not into coding and IT. Cb commands are used to provide server infos so it "became part of Empyrion" because there is nothing else to provide infos beside chat and external groups.
The single most annoying, time consuming, painful thing in this game for me is managing my inventry with regards to cargo boxes and constructors etc. The amount of time you spend shuffling stuff from one spot to another when you have 20+ cargo boxes and half a dozen constructors. Seriously, it is summed up in one word - AUTOMATION! Quite simply, I would like some sort of "central storage" - where all the cargo boxes are all combined into an expanding warehouse of storage capacity. So if I have 30 cargo boxes full of various ores, or components etc., I simply get a 'total' of these items when I am looking in my constructor and want to build something. Imagine how much time you would save when storing stuff - you can have ores, ingots, components, ammo, wherever you like it (or you can still group if you really want to), and the 'total' of all your storage is all accessible by everything...... Andy.
For me, it's mirrored building: 1: I hate not being able to mirror 2 axes at once, 2: in some cases, the mirroring doesn't even work, f.e with the triangular window - right on one side, wrong on the other. I've had a few build ideas in my head for over a year, but I stopped building again and again because I got frustrated about mirroring. Have you ever tried building a dome out of the triangular windows ? Takes like 10 times longer than it would in "another game".
replaceblocks is a bit of a pain because of needing to look up the id in Localizations.csv. As well, you need to do it two or more times depending on block type (e.g. Thin vs normal). And finding windows/armored windows in the list is a pain. Suggestion: allow localized names for replaceblocks, and have it go through the family of blocks or allow wildcards so that they might all be upgraded, e.g. replaceblocks 'Steel' 'Combat Steel' or replaceblocks 'Steel*' 'Combat Steel', replaceblocks 'Window*' 'Armored Window', etc.
Collecting Pentax is ultra boring and does not fit the lore. Needs to be automated. Also, i hate HV's in all form or shape and nobody I play with builds any.
I have no issue with painting or texturing. I just do it as I go along, not really an issue. Inventory management is not much of an issue either. I rather like shuttling stuff from one area to another. This is made even easier with smart layout of constructors, generators, and storage facilities and craft designed to shuttle inventory. I rather like the immersive factor. Repairing missing blocks is a pain, but I think over time it would actually lend to an interesting ship that has been repaired over and over. Millenium Falcon, Serenity etc did not get their beauty from being perfect and polished. They have been worked, modified and reworked over and over for hundreds of years to obtain their character. The only thing in game that I have to do, that takes me out of the game is mining meteors (I keybind left mouse click to the keyboard and rest something heavy on the key). They simply take too long. I would decrease the time it takes 1 person to harvest a meteor by about 25%. It should take a long time, but just seems really long right now for a single player. Its not too bad with two people, but still a bit tedious and kind of boring.
Painting and texturing elements that are not fun: - Unable to "paint all" in one color or texture as a quick way of starting texturing, or having a default color/texture for some block types - Messing with texture orientations, and some blocks have wrapping textures around some faces but not others (e.g. the corner long series). It would be nice to be able to rotate textures independently from the blocks and not have texture wrapping. Having the ability to "align textures" would also be good to avoid breaks in the pattern. - Unable to hold shift or control to paint/texture in a line or area like we can do for blocks - Cut and paste block structures
My server 'Alpheus_Prime' Located in Houston, TX is primarily PVE. We also have several planets I created, one of which I've added Pentaxid as Mineable. Akua also has mineable Pentaxid, and I changed the Drone base to be the same as Masperon. Comeone.. come all.. bring your friends! 98.197.9.100:31000
