I have always wished there was something that looked more like a door mounted gun from a huey for this:
Here's what I'm talking about: These are from the time I joined the "community" in June 2016. This was before we had doors for SVs.
- I'm going to throw an audacious one out there, prolly get thrown out the door, I'll ask anyway. Some feasable method to allow certain object at a small variant to be placed on a base/cv as a mixed grid. Basically on a L cube being a 3x3 surface. You would be able to place a 3x3 set of switches to one L block or even 3x3 lights. - That and sensor pieces that can "Check" for certain conditions and then turn things on/off. Would be great to leave a set of corridor turrets in an off state only to turn on when ONLY another player/npc character walks into your hallway. -Or set a crafter to "KEEP" X amount of Y block -Lots of conditions for said element and interactions for them such as LCD Display. -Another to my wishlist, a factory block, that well funnels resources to your factory. Making it easier for larger BPs to be completed by "Dumping" the massive materials necessary straight from mass storage/salvage. Make it an optional block for BA/CV, for when you find that stuff that has no other uses. - All time favorite, bomb droppers, heavy payload large damage drop system, can only load a single round, rounds or friggen huge to prevent spamming and take a while to reload. For those cases, where your just tired of that guys ugly unpainted base sitting on that nice sunset you enjoy!
I need a alternate version of SLICED CORNER D I can use CORNER A to fill the spot but i would like a sliced corner version of Corner A
Please provide a simple line drawing of what you are talking about. Or a screenshot showing where the missing piece is needed.
Would it be possible to get a version of the cylinder block shape that can connect to a small pipe shape? Preferably several variations where you've a different number of available connections similar to the "small pipe connections" shapes. Here's a picture to show what I mean. The problem is the yellow area. It doesn't connect! The large cylinder should have a projecting part that's the same size as the pipe shape. I'd like to be able to build "tanks" that are connected to other blocks with pipes...
I know and I agree. I would love to add more piping (35 years designing piping systems irl). And I miss the old "piping" texture that was replaced by the current "conduit" (which I like, too). I guess the problem is the limit of shape allocation or something. We can only have just so many at a given time. I don't know how it works or if something can be done to rectify the situation. In fact, I don't know if that's the problem at all. I do know that there are a number of shape variants that seem to lack completion. They lack that one extra shape to fill the last blank in a design. Apparently, we're at a point where adding a shape will cost a shape. If I'm wrong in my supposition, please correct me.
I was tinkering building a new CV and found that some window shapes would be nice to have. the heavy windows and the armored windows have some great shapes, however, if you put them together in a certain position, you find that you are missing shapes that would make the area airtight. I have a picture showing that for the one set a 2 by 1 diagonal slant would allow for a very sleek look. for the 2nd, a triangular slanted double paned window would be nice for tight cornering.
The first example you gave is actually possible with the shapes we have - it's not optimised, as they have to be flipped over and in the next block which isn't as sleek as you'd like, but perhaps this could be a holdover for you if we don't get an update to these shapes: Notice that window more towards the front here is "popped out" from the others around it. (I'm using them in a different overall application here, but the layout of them is the same as what you're looking for.) Happy building!
I knew there was an official thread somewhere for this, but couldn't find it when I was looking. Reposting this from my thread here. The following are shapes that would be nice to be able to put the finishing touches on the current vessel I'm working on. 1. These are the same spot from two different angles. This shape actually surprises me that it's not present. There's a shape that goes from the 67.5 degree slope down to the 45 degree... but not one that goes from the 45 degree to the 22.5 degree slope. 2. I've got a wing that is swept back and down. I can generate the 45 degree filling along the middle portion of the wing and the top portion... but not along these corner bits anywhere. I'm familiar with CAD and can submit STL (or any other file format the freeCAD will export to) and can generate these shapes. I'm terrible at making models, but I can easily at least put together these. Of course, the mirrors of these connectors would all be needed for the other side too.
I think the best way to build would be like the Starship Evo game where the cubic blocks are sectioned and can be deformed as desired. Gates of up to 60*30 blocks is not crazy since the bases can be gigantic as well as the ships, they should reconsider the scalable gates and gates to taste with a limit of course. I also think that for large constructions, gravity generators should act in cubic range and not spherical. -
I'd love to see more options for a homely interior. I love the idea of my awesome space station having warm cozy rooms that step away from tech and more towards traditional. I would also adore if there were corridors that faced outwards.
1. Scriptable LCD's. Abillity to display values from ship properties (oxygen level, fuel level, ammo amounts, shield level etc) 2. Transparent windows (too dark now). 3. Diagonal hangar doors And there should be some block assistant. If choosing a block corresponding ones should be highlighted. No more investigations if shape I want to get is available at all.
1. Torpedo launchers for CV and SV. 2. More options for heavy glass. 3. The crew provides buffs by reducing the consumption of CPU, energy and increasing the speed of rotation of the turrets.
Blocks that can make seamless transition from slopes into halfblock height. As you can see on the picture the current "options" are jagged. The thing in red and orange could use a cut off version. These are the 22.5 angle set pieces from the first tab. just a block which cuts it down to half block height needed for the red and the orange. also I did not find a connector piece to put inside a normal 45° triangle face, and the small but squized triangle. These would need left and right variant too. Oh, and since you asked pistons, rotatrons, hinges to allow us to make for example: choppers, Xwings and resizeable hull. Transformers, and Mechs would be a thing... OH and OFC sunseeker solarpanels would be a thing too with these. Speaking of solar panels... Ones we can place on VEHICLEs please. And wheels (now that the new flight model gives the opportunity to make airplanes... Some wheel blocks are needed badly)
