Mode: (Creative, Survival) Mode: (Singleplayer) SERVER NAME: (If the issue happened on a public server, please add the name here) SEED-ID: (Please always add the SEED-ID for SingleplayerSurvival games; Open the console. The Seed is noted somewhere to the "playfield loaded" dialogue) If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: No Reproducibility: (Always) Severity: (Major) Type: ( Temperature,Radiation ) Summary: Heat area moves up and down with playfield change. Description: The area that is "hot" around thrusters, gennys, etc moves up 1 deck level when you go to space and back down 1 level when you land on a planet. Steps to Reproduce: Spawn one of these ships in creative or survival and go to space and back to planet, heat area will move every time. I have indicated a space hot zone, if you are on planet it will be 1 deck off (heat zone will be lower in elevator shaft and not exist in glassed room.) go back to space and the red zone lines up again with the heat zone. You should override thruster controls so that the neck thrusters are on and creating heat, they normally only operate during Impulse Thrust setting.
Does the whole "hot" zone move up one block layer? Or does it extend 1 block further in all directions? I've noticed heat oddities with on of my ship builds in space, but I thought it was because the heat generation went 1 block further in all directions in space.
It moves a deck up and a deck down, not sure if it moves side to side. It does not seem to increase in square footage.
When I do what you say in your steps the heat area doesn't move for me after playfield change. Can you attach a save game where after changing from 1 playfield to another it does ?
I have a game saved and just went in spawned the ship and I actually had to move from space where I spawned it to the planet and back to space before the heat area began to move. As for the link to DL the save game I am not a member of any services that will host such a file. Any other way to get it to you?
I have a model that demonstrates this where a farm of steel plots on a CV , the plants keep dying to heat presumably.
Can you try attaching it here if the file size isn't too high ? Go to SteamLibrary\steamapps\Common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games Right click on the save file & place your mouse cursor over 'Send to' create a compressed copy of it then drag & drop a copy in your reply box or use the upload a file option. Can you also attach a save game with the vessel spawned in already ?
I forgot I had this thing called amazon drive https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/LmfEyEbhC74Fv0ITygKslywRq0ZaaaefzhWUMurIqwT This is the link to the compressed save game. you should start out in the ship in the room with the red floor and no excess heat. I went down the elevator to the green cockpit room on off deck E and flew to the planet, landed and went back to space. The red floor area on deck C was now hot. Remember Impulse power in the P menu must be on for the neck thrusters to be active. and they are what I am tracking heat wise, just make sure its on when you look for the heat, actually flying at impulse can be annoying Also, I first clued into this tracking a heat problem in my Jupiter 2 CV, I ended up just changing the bridge a bit because I didnt catch that the heat was moving up and down. That was related to the heat from a generator. I am sure it still moves I just moved up the bridge deck a bit since I had the room.
Or you can shoot me a friend invite or something, of I might be able to dig up Edwins email and send it to him.
@Pantera : Do you guys need more examples of this? I have seen this effect on my CV for ages, and thought it was a "feature" in space (extended heat range). If you need more files/info, I'll play with it and see if I can force it to happen...?
Can all of you try out making sure the vessel is leveled out when in orbit then retest if the heat/rad area is moved ? Then orientate the vessel to not be level & retest the heat/rad areas again & notice any difference between the vessel being leveled out & not being leveled out.
I did as you asked and took the save game, went down to planet and back up. The heat moved up as expected. Then O (leveled) in space and the heat moved back where it belongs. I cannot recall ever "leveling" my ships in space before...lol
@Pantera I managed to force this to happen. I am uploading the file I started with, and the video recording I made (which starts right after loading a copy of the save I'm providing), so you can see where I went on my ship to detect the heat changes, and when in the process it happened (and if you wish, you can replicate my exact steps/warping). I'm not sure exactly what I did to force it to happen. It does not appear to happen immediately upon entering the playfield. It happened after I went to a planet (well, moon) I hadn't visited before, and then returned to orbit. However, when I first tested upon return to orbit, I wasn't seeing it. I don't know why I thought to run back again before warping out, but I did, and the second time, it DID happen, and you can see the changes in the heat boxes on my ship (especially at the external thrusters, which you can run underneath in the design... you will see in the video). Something I need to explain about some of the testing I did, and why I'm not sure on the exact trigger for this: The original poster ( @wrenchinator ) mentioned seeing this when changing playfields. I tried MULTIPLE times before getting this recording/test, and could not force this to happen. I realized it may need a completely new playfield loaded, and I was warping to orbits I had already visited. So to do this test/make this file, I deleted one of the orbits I hadn't done anything in (Ishroska Orbit). The file I'm sending you does not have a playfield for Ishroska Orbit (I just deleted it out of the file system). When I wasn't able to get it to happen, I wondered if it was "you have to go to a new planet and then back into orbit", so went to Ishroska Moon, and kinda hung out there for a bit. It was after I went into orbit from the moon that it happened, but it wasn't until the SECOND time I checked that it actually triggered, meaning, I had to be in orbit for a bit or perhaps something else I did after entering orbit and checking the first time did it. At the very end, once I had forced it to happen, and then confirmed the change, I did an O-orient, and re-checked, and yes, it was "normal" again after. I really hope what I'm going to send you will help you solidify it. I will edit this post when the files are done uploading. Edit (no files yet): and I apologize for the length of the video... I just started recording when I started testing.... Edit2: Link to file (yes, it's an older version of the game, but I have seen this effect for a very long time, but didn't think it was a bug): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uaTD9N1Y1LNDBCUUJn7nfubblPOE7BnJ/view?usp=sharing Link to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHj-KeGfv6M The beginning of the video, I run through the areas of the ship where I have seen the heat in the past: Steps to the command chair (the generator is right below there, but it's normally not hot) The crop room (the warp drive is under there, but it's normally not hot) The thrusters on the wing (they stick out, and I have the "hot" areas marked on the wing, so it's "normal" for that to be hot, and if the zone moved up, it would not be any longer) After you see me run through the ship to show the 3 spots, and what they are like now, jump the video to 5:50. That's when I went to the orbit playfield that didn't exist. I didn't see the effect, so I went to the moon (which I have clearly never been to before), and after hanging out for a few minutes, go back into orbit. I test again, and don't see it. I then go to the orbit menu, and tabbed out, so skip from 9:00 to 9:45 where I actually set the warp setting, turn to face the warp target, and then go to test again. And that's when it hit. The rest of the video is me showing the changes, and doing the test again after O-orient.
Mode: Survival Mode: Singleplayer SERVER NAME: None Reproducibility: Always Severity: Major Type: Global Summary: CV Warp Drive radiation distance is larger in space. Description: It seems the CV Warp Drive radiation extends to 2 blocks on the top and sides. The ends still seem to be the same 1 block distance. This only happens in space. On the planets it's normal. I noticed this just after the most recent update. Steps to Reproduce: (steps to reproduce the issue. This is ESSENTIAL for a bugfix!) Place a warp drive within a box in space. Walk around it and you'll see the radiation and heat has spread to 2 blocks. I tested this on a couple of smaller CV's and even removed and replaced the core and it still did it.
could it be related to this https://empyriononline.com/threads/heat-area-moves-up-1-deck-in-space-6090.47761/
Oh, I just posted a bug report about this. I'm experiencing this also. I only noticed it after the most recent update when I started a new game and spawned in some blueprints. I have not tried leveling the ship in space yet though.
