Mode: Survival Mode: Singleplayer, Dedicated Server SERVER NAME: SEED-ID: 0 MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: No Reproducibility: Always Severity: Major Type: Global Summary: 30 FPS with minimal setting at 1080p on 1080 Ti Description: I would expect 60 FPS on near max settings at 1080p with my system, but I am getting only 30-47 FPS with minimal settings, I checked the FPS cap and it work as expected setting it lower limit the FPS, so it is not the cap to 30 in settings. Difference between high and minimum (which looks really bad) have minimal impact on performance. Steps to Reproduce: For me just start the game, but I guess you can not reproduce it this way. the graphic engine this game uses has ALWAYS been crap FPS here. ALWAYS.. heavily oc'd 2080 ti rtx I get 50-60 fps when out in the boonies and 10-15 fps in heavily populated areas
"Driver File Version: 27.21.0014.5012 (English) Driver Version: 27.21.14.5012" Possible in the system original microsoft video drivers. Original Nvidia draver other version end other sintax, please update
You are talking Crap and you know it! How else can it be that Streamers like Spanj have between 80 and 120 FPS if the Game Engine is crap?
I know it was never great, but no blaming I know how hard it is, but last time I played, probably early alpha 11 I have most of the time FPS capped at 60 (yes I could have go higher, but why would I if my monitor can not show it). I spawn on planet and did not see stars which was my first idea what could be the issue, but I do not know if they are rendered behind the atmosphere. All I seen around was some trees and few rocks, and grass, but grass mostly disappear when I change everything to minimum, but FPS did not improve much, maybe 35 average, because it vas jumping up more often, but no where near expected 60 FPS. I would not bother reporting drops when lot of things is going on, because I expect these to be easily reproducable, and explainable, and I know how hard it is to solve those But my average FPS are around 30 and that is serious problem for me.
Every time ELEON releases a new Step Stone in EGS Development the FPS go down. Its not new. And quite normal! All the tweaks to increase the performance have to wait until most of the "Testers" run the game on their different PC's. It is time consuming enough to program the Data, tweaking's - performance wise - has to wait until after the public release. Always. The Devs have, most likely, each one at least 2 PC's and there are only 7 (SEVEN!) of them. So they let Players do the Vessel/Base design so they can focus on the real Stuff at Hand. And performance improvement comes after the release. Capire?
Alpha 12 public release. My CPU AMD A8-7670K (old family Godavari with pseudo 4x core) RAM 16Gb GPU Geforce 1650 4Gb GDDR5 With fast graphics preset (1400x900) - 50-60fps. As soon as it starts to rain with a thunderstorm - 5-15 fps in the same place
I understand the priorities. But how I am supposed to test it and "do the Vessel/Base design" when the game is practically unplayable? Rain mentioned above is good reason for performance to drop significantly, but it is not th case. The performance difference between max and min is almost nonexistant so the issue must be somewhere else. What the information that there is only 7 developers working on the game have to do with it? If they release a profiler that that will tell me which piece of code is out of expected performance I might look at it myself, but I do not plan reversing whole game to figure out the issue, I already have another reversing project in progress.
5960x @ 4.3 ghz 32gig 3200mhz memory Asus X99 Ramgage V extreme mobo evga XC ultra 2080 ti RTX (+750mhz memory oc, +145mhz core oc) 35" Alienware IPS lcd (3440x1440x120 hz) in rain fps shoots below 20fps, heavily populated areas (player bases) fps drops below 20fps. only in the open areas do I get 55-60 fps (MAX). All AAA titles I get 90+ fps on ultra settings.. Battlefield V, CoD modern warfare, Fallout 76, FarCry V, Division 2, etc. either the game coding on this graphic engine is crap or the engine is crap.. either way Fps suxs on this game compared to ANY triple A title.
Pretty sure something else is causing your low framerate. I also have a GTX 1080 TI, and a 4K monitor, and I can play the game at maximum settings (and at 4K resolution, mind you) and still get 60 FPS.
I play many games at 1080p because it just means the fans can stay off. I think I was playing Empyrion on 4k at some point, but I prefer fans being off over few more pixels. I know it is not caused by HW. This version just cause too high GPU usage with no obvious reason, and without being impacted by settings (at least not significantly enoug). I was hoping for anser like "measure X", or at best profiler that will explain what is consuming the GPU.
By "Just starting the game" I get 60FPS on all starting options on a GTX 1070 of the default scenario with all graphic quality presets. Have you considered this ? Tried the latest or older drivers ? Use DDU to uninstall drivers before reinstalling any others https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html Not sure really what the root cause could be.
The greatest drop in FPS is caused by the combination of the effect of rain and the force field, as well as the effect of rain visible through armored glass.
I did not try linux, because WineHQ says Garbage. But I tried reinstalling GPU drivers, but unfortunatelly with no effect
in most games I simply put everything to max, and then I might tune it down slightly to get 60 FPS more or less stable all the time. @Pantera with version 2953 I get 60 FPS with near max settings, I guess you are not going to show me the changes that make that big difference? I would be really interested to know.
I'm not aware of anything that would have a effect specifically on that really you got lucky I will mark this as fixed as it was what was reported in the OP.
