Due date is the end of August. Challenge 007 is here!!! Build a civilian poi. So your little ragtag group of scientists got contracted by the UCH to land and study a new type of planet. Once there yall build a small outpost. This outpost will provide living quarters and some on planet sensors to study the planet. What are the rules you ask? I don't like rules but eleon has provided rules for these types of poi. I will include links to them below. There is enough info there if you can build a base you can do this small simple poi. I ask you submit here on the zerog discord https://discord.gg/Y6uRRYe If you want to submit it on this challenge thread you can. I do ask you also submit it in the forum link that is below. Also pay attention on the discord, at the end of each month we vote on the next months challenge. Let's fill the galaxy!! Important note no alien loot containers. Hummel-o-War told me we can add some of the commodity items which can be sold or traded for money. Which can be done through cargo boxes read the links below for the information. If you have any questions concerning the challenge tag me or pm me. Any questions concerning eleon rules should be directed at them. Submission page https://empyriononline.com/forums/your-submissions.108/ Everyone read this https://empyriononline.com/threads/civilian-faction-bases-and-ships-for-non-territory-space.94666/ If you have never built a poi before please read this https://empyriononline.com/threads/read-first.94098/ https://empyriononline.com/threads/general-notes-and-rules.94100/ https://empyriononline.com/threads/for-builders-10-point-checklist.92816/ This one is on filler blocks. If part of your poi is underground give it a read as well. https://empyriononline.com/threads/how-to-use-filler-blocks.47127/ For more info https://empyriononline.com/forums/building-blueprints.95/
Are illegal Blocks allowed... i.e. My structure has lockers <Personal Cargo Box>, which are considered illegal?
HiHi.... ... but you don't know how either. Knowledge seems to be a rare good here in the forum. * grins very broadly * but it doesn't matter. I just wanted to say that I will prepare an object for the Challenge.
this is about POIs. So far nobody could tell me how to declare a locker to be a "personal loot box". I don't even get the lockers displayed in the device menu in order to define them somehow if necessary. So I just put things in and it is good? They are then spawned exactly like this when the POI is generated? That is the question. How do I get specifically selected / specified loot in a POI? Are these the custom containers that are automatically defined with the ID 254 and 255 after the " Containers.ecf "? do you know how to do that?
IIRC, the Personal Cargo Box contents are set by the scenario in the playfield, but I'm not sure. Someone like @ravien_ff would know for sure. Otherwise, container contents are set by the loot tables. For specific contents, as I understand it, the POI needs an admin core and to be saved with the loot in place and "Save Damage State" checked. Please either slightly pre-damage the core before saving or provide something like a destruct switch attached to explosive blocks to take out the core in the event the player wants to salvage or take over the POI
then I don't understand @BossManW916's question. it had sounded like he wanted to use the locker as a personal loot box, whatever that means or what I mistakenly think what it could be. @BossManW916 , if you know how to do it, it would be nice if you can tell us how to do it. And that's what I mean by "rare knowledge" everyone knows a little something, nobody really knows anything right, and it is not written anywhere. But we're in the Creators Forum right? It's a bit frustrating to get the necessary things to know when building more than a brick as a POI. So far, for example, I still haven't received an answer whether the game is even able to place a POI with "subsidence" in relation to the water level (ocean planets). At some point someone might say thank you for trying so hard, but the game can't handle it. sorry this is not a personal attack against anyone. it's just gives not fun.
Contents of personal containers are set in the play field. Otherwise if you want custom loot you can use an admin core like described above, or change the loot group ID of the cargo box or npc spawner.
So exciting! I have something I am currently working on that will work well with this. I'll post some pics soon.
Sorry, I can't see the intricacies of the English language. (I need the translator for a lot.) If this was meant sarcastically, I apologize for occupying this thread on this topic.
this still does not answer my question from post # 6,(how to declare a locker to be a "personal loot box"...... in contrast to a normal cargo box) but I will continue to ask my questions in the knowledge area about the loot boxes so that the answers can also be found there. But one thing is now clear: It is NOT possible to save a loot box with a clearly defined, adapted loot in a normal POI (red NPC core), for use in the automatically generated planets of the game as we want to build it here and in the current call from Hummel. No matter what you do, it always remains randomly generated within the given framework. ("or change the loot group ID") in this constellation there is only one question left. Do the normal cargo boxes even accept the IDs of the alien containers(ID 38-41) when they are generated by the playfiled ? If you want to generate a higher quality loot. I can enter them, yes, but they will then also be executed according to the containers.ecf ? Thanks to everyone who tries to explain the colors to a blind person.
A Personal Cargo Box is the row of lockers. You cannot set these up. These will never be normal loot containers and their contents are set by whoever adds them to the game via the playfield_static. If a Personal Cargo Box (Lockers) is used and not set up with loot, it will not be accessible in the game. (effectively just a deco block) You cannot save a container with loot in it unless the POI uses an Admin Core and is saved with "Save Damage States" set to ON. Yes, you can change the loot ID on a container in the Device Menu to any of the containers in the client/host's Containers.ecf and it will contain those items. You could set a cargo box to any loot container ID or even a creature loot list. However, if you try to submit any POI with changed loot IDs you need to say which ones and to what. Devs won't add POIs if you intentionally hide overpowered loot for yourself because that's a massive dick move.
Oh, big thanks to you @Vermillion These are the facts. All answers in one post. GREAT ! Many thanks. You should consider adding this post to the knowledge thread on loot boxes. Edit: now I also understand why it is handled that way
As a little background information for the whole question. I wanted to put an epic sniper rifle, ammunition and a good pile of gold coins in a locker. Users should have thought of the note "Kill this damned guy ...". As a little gimmick. It won't work now. That's just how it is.
If it's a POI for a custom scenario, feel free to use an admin core so you can store custom loot. If it's a submission for the default game you can still submit it with an admin core and explain your reasoning for it.
Thank you @ravien_ff . Now that I know how to do it, I'll figure out how to use it. But in the first step I would only like to offer a few civil POIs that may possibly colonize the planets in general and also give the player the opportunity to take over these objects without major problems. That is why I would like to do without administrator cores for the time being. Let's see what will happen later. I still have enough ideas.
