Fixed Ships Disappearing

    Summary: Ships will disappear after getting out of them.

    Description: Ships are disappearing after you get out of them. Also had a CV with two SV's docked while flying in space the SV's became undocked and then when I exited the CV the CV disappeared. I have also seen ships go to default colors and you can not get back into the ship then after a reload you can get into it and the colors are back like they should be.

    Steps to Reproduce:Not sure it will randomly happen all on it's own. I am a server owner and can pass along files and the full save if needed. I have a screen shot of me looking at a ship that disappeared with the Debug Info window open and you will see it showing that I am not looking at anything, but see the ship. Screenshot_623.png

    So it took me a little while to get it to happen. I would warp and go in and out from planet to space and then after a few minutes of doing this I came out of the planet into the space and soon as I changed playfields, I got a message I had an undocked ship and duped my CV(see screenshot). I did this with an SV docked to the outside of the CV. I also have a video of the CV taking off on me I will post a link to. This is on my server so would be multiplayer mode.

    I can also confirm this, it's happening on me and my friend's server, I can post the logs if needed, it happens in space and it happens on all capitol ships I can not confirm if it happens to sv's yet since they can dock I have not tested if they will start floating upward's if not docked and the speed that they go upwards is far beyond the game limits, in gm mode you can barely catch up to them but if you can you can barely stop them you have to sit in the cockpit to stop it. Turning the ship on and or off does nothing, thrusters can be off, hell I had just spawned a blank hull ship to work on that had nothing but a core, 2 generators in it some fuel tanks and a teleporter that was it no thrusters no lights nothing and it floated straight up.

    Can confirm this is happening on our servers too
    Reforged Eden on one and project Eden on the other.

    We are seeing structures are just warping themselves to random playfields after the player transitions to a new playfield or to the same playfield in a different location. Also sometimes the player does not transition to the new playfield but the ship does.

    We are running a 40+ concurrent player server and this is happening a lot. EAH is helping but sometimes the strucutre will warp to inactive playfields that need to be manually loaded by a player/admin to be able to warp the ship back. Its an Admin nightmare right now.

    Please, how can we help you fix this problem?

    Whenever you are asked to ATTACH the log Files attach them as a FILE and do not copy and paste them into your post here.
    The Devs can't do anything when they have only Text/parts of the text to be looked at. Thanks.
    I hope the Devs can do something for you and all the others who have this Issue.:rolleyes:

    We need a way to be able to reproduce this away from the live server ideally on our own internal server so it can be debugged to find out where exactly this is coming from.
    So far none of this described behavior happens for me but we'll keep looking.

    Mission accepted, I will have some of my players go there and we will invade the Eleon Server. I will also pass this information on to Dreadarm that has the same issue on his server.

    Sorry I should perhaps elaborated more I meant are own internal server.

    We are currently looking into some possible ways to fix this with some info we have gathered from some logs I cannot guarantee anything just yet & as soon as we may have something I'll update here.

    Apologies for the inconveniences caused with this issue.

    Just to add to this, our server is experiencing this same issue, we too cannot trigger it. It's completely random.

    People will get ejected from their ships, ours are not disappearing as much as they end up 8Km away.

    We get the duplicate ship that is all multicolored.

    I notice there is not an ID associated with the "ghost" ships. It appears to be more of a visual duplication...yes they are solid, but there is no accessing them in anyway shape or form.

    Not much help, other than to say we have the issue as well.

    I just did a fresh wipe an hour ago and had 18 people log in within the following 10-15 minutes. Within 10 minutes of that I started to get notified by players of these things happening.

    Description:
    I took an SV and flew from the planet into orbit.
    SV kicked me out and flew away.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    Ride a vessel and fly from planet to orbit. Or vice versa.
    I presume that it's more likely to happen in a sector that players have just visited.

    This is exactly what is happening to players on my server. Happens with SV and CV when transitioning between planet and orbit or vice versa.

    When it happens while entering a planet sometimes the SV/CV will go underground.

    Ok, we have done some testing.
    Firstly, our server is a full dedicated server hosted by reliablesite.net with the following hardware:

    Windows Server 2019 Std
    AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
    64GB Ram
    500gb nvme SSD

    We have tested now on a brand new Reforged Eden 1.3 save game and a new 1.3 default multiplayer game, all issues occurred on both.

    We have ships disappearing, playfields refusing to load, ships getting stuck, flying off on their own. Before we shutdown the server due to these issues we also had a high number of playfields becoming corrupt and players losing all of their stuff, bases, ships the lot as a result.

    The first video here is on Reforged eden and is the ship getting stuck after entering a Elder barren planet, a relog sorted it.


    The Second video is the ship disappearing bug on default multiplayer scenario, brand new game. This happened after leaving a planet, the SV rolled off the back of the ship, after I exited the cockpit, it all goes to hell.


    All game files have been verified on both server and client.
    EAC is not running on either.
    Both server are running EAH.

    This is currently unplayable and we cannot run the server while these issues are so prevalent. We all want to get back to the game of course so anything I can do to help you guys get to the bottom of this, please let me know. I am more than willing to give you access to the server if you want; any logs, savegame files etc you would like, i am more than happy to provide.
    I can also rally a sizeable testing team if you want to try new versions out on our server.

    Fixes:
    - Potential fix for structures duplicating/disappearing

    Please update both the server & client & then run the steam verify files option.
