Build: v1.6.1 3510 Mode: Creative & Survival Mode: Singleplayer & Multiplayer SERVER NAME: N/A SEED-ID: Temperate Orbit? If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: No Reproducibility: Always Severity: Crash Type: Building Summary: Whenever I delete a lot of blocks or add a lot of textures the game will eventually stop responding, turn white and close out without any messages. Logs detect this as a crash. In task manager the game is suspended when this occurs. I updated Nvidia drivers to latest version and reinstalled Empyrion on another hard drive but issue persists. I rolled back to Alpha 12 and this issue did not occur which rules out any hardware problem from my PC. Loaded back up to most recent version of Empyrion and the problems came back. This issue is making the game unplayable, as building is starting to become really annoying with all the crashes. Description: Game crash when deleting or texturing a lot of blocks Steps to Reproduce: 1) Delete a lot of blocks with a multi tool 2) Apply a lot of textures to blocks 3) Will crash in short order, especially if you hold down the pick up on multi tool or texture tool instead of single clicking Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links:
Just out of interest: How old is this Creative Game of yours? Your client Log shows - 28-16:43:41.672 12_43 -LOG- Last build: 3034 that would make it to be started BEFORE V1 was relased -> ( 2020-07-30: Alpha 12.3.3 Patch (Build 3034)
I had a ton of log files so I just picked some of the recent ones by date modified. It's a new creative game, maybe a couple days old, and I made a new one today because when I rolled back to Alpha 12 it messed up my other save. Thinking back on it my problems started when my creative base build got to be over class 70, so I bakced up and removed the blueprint and deleted the creative game. I'll see if the game is stable now with the massive build out of the Empyrion folders.
One main Problem with going back to a pre-V1.0 Game is that with V1.0 the way changed how Data gets handled which caused sever problems for older builds.
After Alpha 12 I took a hiatus from playing Empyrion for a long while and played other games. When I came back to empyrion it was this 1.6 version and I started my build on 1.6. The crashes started later as my build got huge, but I started this build on 1.6 not Alpha 12. Alpha 12 is just the last version I remembered working without any problems. Thinking about it now I didnt put together that my huge base might have been the start of these issues. I feel like a large base shouldnt cause these issues though, even if its class 70+. Especially on multiplayer where the blueprint is not even involved.
After playing for a while with my Level 105 blueprint removed from the game, all the problems seemed to have gone away and the game is working normal again. I guess that blueprint really was so massive it was breaking the whole game, even when I wasnt even interacting with it. The only bad thing now is that I cant keep working on my creative build anymore. I guess its too big for this game...thats too bad...
