Suggestions for base code in game

    Dear developers Eleon
    a game is a game in which a person spends several hours of his personal free time ... but at the same time - the game SHOULD NOT BE a permanent part of the player's life (!)

    Now in the game - the maximum speed of the CV for the planet = 70 m/s, for space 100 m/s.
    I think this is a very low score for a game (!)

    Because due to the low speed of the flight = the person is forced to spend extra time of his personal life ON THE GAME in order to complete some gaming tasks...

    Because of this = a person has less of his personal time to complete his tasks in real life (!)
    I don't think this is allowed (!)
    Playing is a game, but the game SHOULD NOT keep a person longer than the time it takes to complete the game tasks (!!!!!))

    Therefore, I ask you - PLEASE, increase the flight speed for all ships (small ship and capital ship) by 300-500%
    (for the planet = from
    300 m/s, for space = from 500 m/s, and also increase afterburner (acceleration, boost) by 10-20%)


    This will allow a person to quickly complete game tasks for reconnaissance of the location, and quickly return to his real life to his family, children, work ... (!!!)

    Also, you've been around long enough to know we cannot increase the maximum speed of ships. That's something that eleon needs to do.

    This concerns the base code of the game, here I understand you!
    ... then maybe - you and Ravien_ff can make "improved engines" in the "improved technologies" tab, where are the improved turrets ... and these engines will have increased speed and acceleration parameters ?!
    Is this option possible?

    Like they already said to you, there is nothing they can do. Only Eleon can do anything about this.

    Max speeds are hardcoded, meaning it can not be modded in any way. Creating a new thruster does NOT bypass this hardcoded limitation.
    Only Eleon can change it.

    Dear @Taelyn !
    You as a member of the development team - please convey to the Developers this proposal "to increase the speed of ships in space and on the planet."
    As a compromise option - increase the normal speed of the ships by 50%, but increase the afterburner (acceleration) by 400-500% (while maintaining the afterburner duration interval).

    I was under the impression that they are set to those limits for performance reasons.

    Speed Limits are there for a reason. They cant be increased any more. You will be flying into nothing.

    I also told you a couple of time, do not tag us with such things. You are warned for this now. Next time is a ban.

    Why at high speed we will "fly to nowhere"??
    Let's take a closer look at this mechanic together:

    So:
    1) flying 25 km in 4.5 minutes of real time is a very long time (!) :( ... we (all players) want to turn on FORCING, and fly these 25 km in 25 seconds (!) ... and it's POSSIBLE! :)

    2) If the distance between the player's ship and the POI point, or the NPS ship = less than 2.5 km, but the OTHER player's ship in the PVP zone = less than 3.5 - 5 km = then it is FORBIDDEN to turn on the afterburner in the maximum acceleration mode - leave only the standard acceleration up to 70-120-150 m/s (!)

    3) so that during the afterburner there is a correct data exchange, and the game is not a "glitch, bug" = when the afterburner is turned on - for the player who is doing the afterburner now = all the trajectories of the movement of the NPS ships - save their course and speed (inside the player's game client), what was it like at the time the acceleration was turned on, so that when the player's ship comes out of acceleration - the NPC ship is not redrawn too far from its current location on the server!

    (((... in fact, this is NORMAL, because when 2 players are sitting in the ship - then the pilot - everything moves according to plan, but the passenger - the ship moves in JERKS, due to the fact that the data exchange between the server and all players - not ideal, so passengers will always watch - how the ship twitches in jerks, how crooked, jerky rockets fly along a curved broken trajectory ... this is normal now, therefore, even with maximum afterburner - the passenger will have similar graphic jerks, as with normal movement at a standard speed of 70-150 m/s :) ...)))

    these 3 simple functions = will be optimal for the game!
    There will be no serious problems and lags, thanks to paragraphs 2) and 3).

    Therefore, Dear Taelin - the maximum afterburner (flying 25 km not in 4.5 minutes, but in 25 seconds) is POSSIBLE to create :)
    It is only necessary to optimize this process, as I suggested in paragraph 2) and 3) :) , please :)

    P.S. in the game "No ManSky" - there is such an acceleration mode so that the player can quickly cover a huge distance to a trading station, or to a planet, or between planets ... but this is not a reason to switch from Imperion to No ManSky :)

    .... If acceleration (flying 25 km in 25 seconds) requires switching to a new game engine (new game mechanics), then just say so publicly! so that we also understand which processes can be improved in the game, but which cannot, before making our suggestions to improve the game :)

    In addition, PERSONALLY I - agree to buy an "addition" to the game for 10-20 $ to fly faster in space = 25 km in 25 seconds, and on the planet = 25 km in 60 seconds :)
    Many players also agree to support :)

    Please - create a poll, vote, quiz - do players want such a strong flight acceleration in the game (25 km in 25 seconds), but then it will require significant changes in the game = for example, switching to new mechanics ... but then it will be cost about 10-20$

    Ask the opinion of the players about it, collect statistics, and make a conclusion :)

    What we want and what is feasible are two different things. I want faster ships but that doesn't mean it's possible.

    Go to a planet. Turn on God mode. Then zip around using the shift + control keys to accelerate your character to very fast speeds. Watch how long it takes the terrain, deco (trees / rocks), and POIs to spawn in around you. This is what he means by "flying into nothing". The speed limits are there to assure that the game actually functions properly, especially on the minimum hardware.

    ... the short answer that "it can't be done" is NOT an ANSWER!
    to understand - you need to explain the ESSENCE of the mechanics (!)
    But no one (for some reason) explains this :(

    Here in the game "No Man Sky" - acceleration was DONE as an integral part of the game!
    Then why can't you speed up in Imperion ???

    Can someone EXPLAIN = why it is impossible to increase the speed of the ships ???

    What is so critical in the mechanics of the game, because of which the speed of the ships is limited ???

    ... in Alpha 0.5, remembering, there was a speed = 150 m / s ... then they reduced it to 100 m / s :(

    Someone, Please explain - why TECHNICALLY it is impossible to increase the speed of ships ??

    If on the planet - the scenery will not have time to draw, due to the fact that I fly at high speed = uuuh, I DO NOT WORRY about it :)
    In space - it's not noticeable at all :)
    Because there is a SCANNER (radar), and I can see in advance where the cluster of NPCs is located (?!!), so I can CAREFULLY plot my route, and fly freely at high speed :)

    And low rendering speed on my WEAK LAPTOP, where FPS = 15 ... ABSOLUTELY NOT TROUBLE :)

    ==================
    Therefore = from optimization = when farcage (acceleration) is enabled, then temporarily increase the rendering distance (!)
    (but not in the entire screen space, but only around the ship's trajectory within a radius of 1.5 km, ... and at a distance that is equal to the "current rendering range in Settings" multiplied by x1.5 :)

    This will be ENOUGH to "not crash into a rock, or get stuck in an asteroid :) :) :)

    Technically - quite simply because your computer has limited resources and with this limitation the game takes X amount of time to load and display the environment (terrain, POIs, enemies, etc..). So if you move from A to B and need less time than X, not everything will be loaded/visible at B.

    This not only looks bad, but it is also problematic when you stop with your ship and an alien base builds up around you and your ship bugs into it.

    I think you need to accept that there are real and valid reasons as to why the speeds are what they are.

    ... besides, the god mode - gives a very high speed of movement (!) ... The developers will not give such a speed ...

    Therefore, it is enough to set the afterburner speed so that
    = on the planet to fly 30 km in 60-90 seconds,
    \u003d in space - fly 30 km in 30-45-60 seconds.

    This will be much less than the speed in god mode, and fast enough for a comfortable flight, and not to overload the graphics processing (!)
    :)

    The main thing is to choose the right optimization :)
    (one of the optimization options = I suggested above)

    Thanks for the clarification :)

    But, as I wrote somewhere above - in order to avoid "crashing into the Base, and not getting stuck in it" == I suggested an optimization option in the form = "WHEN ACCELERATION IS ON, INCREASE TEXTURE DRAWING RANGE IN x1.5 FROM THE CURRENT, ... and in order not to overload the video card = render textures NOT IN ALL screen space, BUT ONLY ALONG THE TRAJECTORY OF MOVEMENT, AND IN A RADIUS OF 1.5 - 2 km around the trajectory of motion (!) :)
    (such a kind of "TUNNEL" along the trajectory of the ship, where INSIDE THE TUNEL = everything will be drawn, at a long distance, and outside the tunnel = only weak rendering of graphical elements of the environment, low priority in the rendering queue :)

    The diameter of such a "tunnel" = equal to the proposed 1.5 - 2 km,
    "Tunnel" length = equal to "current rendering distance x1.5.

    The rest of the textures (POIs, ships, landscape elements) in the rest of the screen space = draw after disabling acceleration (!) :)

    Believe me, fellow players, this is probably the most realistic way to optimize the graphic part = drawing only a FRAGMENT of the location in a small part of the screen space :)

    Even OBS - a program for streaming, does not output the entire 100% high-quality picture to the broadcast, but only high-quality "key" frames every N frames (!)
    So we = set to draw only a PART of the location in screen space, a-la "keyframes" :) :) :)
