I made Good experiences with this one. The Landing gears are lower than the rest of the ship and the ramps go even one block lower than the extracted landing gears.
I have a question. what kind of classification do you think works for this game what would be a Frigate, a corvette, a destroyer a light curser a heavy curser a battle curser or a battle ship? size armor sceam and amercements?
Such Classifications would call for a certain size limit for each class - a method not easy to achieve with EGS and our individualistic Games community .
The main issue here is, taking into account all those SF Media out there, that to determine those classes a strict classification must be in Place. Seagoing Vessels had, to some extend, this limitation in for of tonnage. Today's Marine's are rather going to classify their ship types by their role on Sea than by their tonnage. The Mainstay Ship type today is a Frigate or Destroyer. which actual has the size of a light Cruiser. So, having that in mind you can now try to classify CV's by adding to their Size Class a certain Role in a Combat Mission. As we dont have different Calibers of Guns to define types of ships by their type of Armament you would not see much difference, visually, between a Destroyer and a Battleship. The Amount of mounted Guns are also no longer an issue.
Question: What is the max size and class allowed on multiplayer servers like HWS. Have never build one and want to try my hand at it if and could join a server at the same time. Any advice for a apprentice CV builder would be very much appreciated.
Do it in creative mode, in space, in sunlight, use symmetry plane(s). start with what is most important for you eg: with the Hangar you want to have in it than start to build everything around the shape it should have and then try to fit everything inside About size class: the max size class on HWS was 7 i last played on it (Alpha 8) on others it goes down to 5 and there are probably some where its higher.
Now i am glad i asked, i did not think a CV size class on servers was that small. My SV and HV would have to be very small to fit inside.
It needs to be that small. Size class is not really a indicator of the size but more likely a indicator how much power your grafic card needs to calculate this structure. So on busy servers a limit is needed otherwise everyone would play with 10 fps when they go on a playfield with some big structures.
What size is this Ship ? I have already build a crew mess, quarters für 80 Members, al the engine stuff in different rooms, jail, two hangars, two bridges, and several meeting rooms. So there are plenty more rooms to build. The hull ist nearly complete.
Physically, it's 490 meters long and uhh... not sure on width. Probably 90 or so meters wide? I'll need to check it. Class size-wise, it's 88. The space dock designed to hold it (WIP) is class 48 at this time. Stripped-down blue variant. Because building a class 40+ space dock around a class 88 super dreadnought is a slow process at 12 fps. Stripped down, the outer hull is only class 12.

Gave the Austerty a rework to improve 'breaking' upwards and Forwards. Thus I added 2 more thrusters aiming front and 2 more aiming upwards, gaining 34 instead of 17 m/s to break those 69m/s upward acceleration. This is the newly introduced CVE-5 Albatross The Albatross is a heavy-lift exploration carrier for cargo and vehicles. It started out as a single engine assembly that I had built, experimented with and then abandoned sometime in the Alpha 7 cycle. I decided to pick the engine design back up for use in a replacement for my previous mid-to-end game ship, the CVE-4. The name, "Albatross" comes from the realization that if cargo capacity remains tied to CPU, and that if CPU stays limited to 7500, that heavy-lift designs may not actually have any future use in the game.
