Was a bit exploring a customized Eden Scenario by @ravien_ff The shores look so great from space! And even more so the red dwarf! If this doesnt look Alien enough.. idk.. amazing! … Cutting Edge ...
I don't understand your request, if it's directed to me. XCaliber is the guy running the discord, the "competition" (he runs a monthly design competition), and he does Youtube let's plays/ PvP plays, and Streams... He's the man you got to ask, I just know that he's holding the competition, and I thought you guys would find that interesting, and XCal would welcome anyone who's serious about design and building. He's really good being efficient with his builds while having all that's needed to get the job done. That's why I started to watch him. I usually just do stuff like this most days...
Finished refitting the FA-005C Hunter today. What was going to be just a texture improvement before turned into a bigger overhaul than planned as I completely replaced the engine pods with thinner, lighter versions that are more like the ones on the 008A. My knowledge of blockface derpiness since I first built the hunter allowed me to fix the problem that plagued the old pods' textures as well. Re-moved the new O2 station and Armor Locker up into the roof and replaced the cargo boxes with more cargo extender slabs to avoid the first version of the hunter's problem where landing on unever ground prevented you from climbing past the boxes if you weren't able to stand straight. So yeah... this took up several hours. My last act was to stick in some little shelves and a decorative medkit on the bulkhead because it looked a little bare. The Cockpit. Comes in 5 shades of gray; 45 short of a book. It's hard to see in this cinematic lighting, but the dark red was replaced with a dark vermillion color. The new pods have slightly less thrust, but are cheaper. It's still way more than the ship needs to lift itself and several tons of cargo.
I've been playing with holo-signs after I learned about them here on the forums from @ravien_ff and @Frigidman. I think they look very cool and are some of the neatest uses of displays yet, but I'd like your opinions on whether I should include these in a published blueprint. Are these too much? Too busy? Too gimicky?
Uh, they look awesome sauce, I'm gonna try them now! Where exactly did you learn from those guys about them?
I feel your pain. Literally. I had this happen a while back. It was frustrating. Here is what I determined: It was related to the thumbnail image associated with any given blueprint. You can test this by deleting / renaming the thumbnail image in the local blueprint folder (usually a subfolder within "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Blueprints", and then trying to upload that blueprint again. If you can upload the blueprint when there is no thumbnail image, … congrats, you have the same issue that I had not too long ago. BTW, size of the thumbnail file did not matter, any image at all and the upload failed with that "LimitExceeded" error. After 'investigating' the issue a bit, with little success,... I took the shotgun approach to solving the issue. 1. Backup all of your game files (manually). 2. Uninstall the game and any other steam games. 3. Uninstall Steam client. I also cleaned up any remaining files in the EGS folder under steamapps (just to be sure). 4. Update Windows (just a good thing to do,... and I am pretty sure it was a Windows update that started the whole thing,...) 5. Reboot (just a good thing to do,... cause it is Windows) 6. Ensure there are no more Windows updates, if there are, repeat steps 4 & 5. 7. Reinstall Steam, and make sure it is up to date. 8. Reinstall your games. I would start with EGS and then test the uploads. 9. Restore your EGS backup files Basically, there were Windows updates, Steam updates, and EGS updates just prior to my issue with upload. I believe that something among all those updates caused the issue for me. Rather than spend many hours digging through every little update and change, I just took the 'shotgun' approach detailed above, and it solved my issue. Hope this helps. Even though it is a PITA. Good luck, -Z.
Ravien posted about them here in the blueprints subforum. It's an older thread, but it particularly caught my eye because I had just been wishing for something exactly like this for my bridge displays.
@The Tactician[ Λ ], zertali's post reminded me that image size might be an issue. I think Steam has a limit on how many megabytes of images you can upload? Pretty sure that's why I started using a program to convert images from the default png to smaller jpgs.
I started updating my old Excalibur design. Both the Excalibur I & II were getting a little dated, and needed some TLC. The new version is going to be substantially different than its predecessors. For starters, it will have a ground-level accessible Cargo / HV bay, and a top-side Docking Bay (located mid-ship). Also switching from the M thrusters to the large ones where possible. The Docking Bay will fit a moderately-sized SV in the center, and two of my (not yet posted to workshop) SV1 small vessels in two pockets / shelves within the Docking Bay area. See pics to see what I mean. I would not even call this a rough draft at this point, more of a basic outline that I am starting to build out. Hardly even a bottom side yet. Everything is subject to change before it is complete.... Including the name,... it is so different, I may just have to call it something else. Here is the old Excalibur II for comparison. Believe it or not, it looked like this before I started editing it into what you see above...
The following post happened by the increased happiness of the advertiser, thank you for reading Yesterday I had spawned an SV I had built to be used with the Mirai… today I figured what I missed for it... SHIELDS !!! So there I went and installed a shield into this warp capable ship (sadly, this one is NOT MV capable … yet) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1679866670 This advertisement was sposonred by Sephrajin Industries - Deep Space Exploration Versatiles
I think they look amazing! The few on the bridge are a little hard to pin down but the light blue in the hallways/entrances are excellent. Oh man... those would be cool to do with an alien language/glyphs... huh.
