Test is working fine at single player, don't have the time yet to try multi-player. But thumbs up so far for the Dev's!
We have now put the fix for the startup issue on the experimental branch https://empyriononline.com/threads/alpha-11-5-experimental-refinements.91665/ this will be put onto the public branch tomorrow if all is ok can everyone switch from the steamtest branch to the experimental branch & after it has updated check launching the game again ?
Your log doesn't show you as being on the experimental branch you have 'Version: Alpha 11.5' you should have 'Version: Alpha 11.5.1' can you double check what branch you're opted into & verify your steam files ?
That's weird, i'm sure that i selected experimental but nevermind, it's working now ! Sorry. EDIT : i did not play but the game is launching. I can't connect to my server due to version error ...
Update 11.5 on the Steamtest branch is working for me. A little slow on the start up. However, it is workable. Thank you for all the work.
@All thanks for trying the fix out! Please change to the experimental branch to check A11.5.1 then tomorrow change to the public branch when the public branch is updated to A11.5.1 to avoid any unwanted downloads in the future when other branches are updated or used for other tests.
It should't do that, unless you tell it to by selecting it in steam to remotely download on the other machine, and definitely won't just do it by itself if you turn off auto update. Nonetheless. always make a back up of your current game before switching the branch version.
@Ephoie: Interesting that you say it is a ram issue. Your right it does involve ram. But the issue is not about ram, but how the game uses (misuses) that ram. I have over 70 games on this computer. Some of which are considered high end resource users (ie;Witcher 3). Yet not a single one uses over 8 gb ram at game start. As for it being a Unity thing, I also have several games that run on the Unity engine. (ie; ASE). So rather than simply placing responsibility for issue on user, maybe instead look at how your programing the games ram usage. If I can run Witcher 3 (@ medium setting) on this machine and have little to no issues. Then this game should also run without issue. I have had this game since A4. I still play it and like where it's going. But all too often I see issues blamed on the users, when in fact their not. Many are, but many are simple programming flaws.
It depends what version of unity other games are using on the 2019.2 release there is a issue with texture streaming for some machines not all. @All the fix is now available on the public branch please change the branch your are opted into to 'NONE - opt out of all beta programs' to go back onto the public branch. To change branch right click on Empyrion in your steam library select properties > click on the betas tab & in the drop down select 'NONE - opt out of all beta programs' then restart steam.
