@Wellingtoon anytime I watch a Video of @jrandall he starts to build HV and SV in the same manner...when SV build on a Planet. He puts the Starter Block on the Ground and pulls vertically a line of up 20 or more blocks up to get space for free building. So with the core down there, which he later places new in the finishing touches of the building process the center of the vessel is far away. EDIT: @jrandall at work...look where the starter block is
Been hard at work on the scenario! Have some really cool ideas for missions too. (No screenshots yet)
Yeah, I really wish the devs would hurry up and do something to fix this clearpivot issue. Simply giving us a command and requiring us to save everything we build twice in order to get it to function correctly is NOT a solution. I can't even really build in survival mode anymore unless I'm building a base. Obviously I can still build in survival but it often leads to issues because of this. I really hope they fix this for A12 but I doubt they will. They gave us the command and then called all the bug reports "fixed" because we have the command now. It's not fixed at all.
Mostly in Empyrion today (and yesterday) I've been wandering around confused, because a lot has changed since I last played (over a year ago). Are there any good guides explaining what this CPU business is all about?
Also, I've forgotten (If I ever knew) how to find out which components in a blueprint stop it from being spawned in a survival game. So, in creative, I have several of my ongoing projects that now appear in red. How do I fix that?
If the BP s are TOO Old, pre A9.X, they may contain forbidden blocks, most of the times PLANT's in the Grow Plots. There are also Reelings that may cause that. Anyway the answer @ravien_ff provided - a console Command - shows you whats wrong. To fix it in your SP just open console, type in cm and you are in creative and can fix that at once. To get back to survival type in cm a second time. CPU is...in short...a help to refine builds. 50% state its a restriction to build anything, at least 25% of us say its a challenge, the rest is uncertain and are waiting into what CPU is gonna develop in the future.
Yesterday I found myself a nice spot in my Galaxy to make a living. Almost the Center of the Star Systems, on a Size 5 Desert Planet, in the system in the upper right Corner where TWO Systems are close together. Several Craters, filled with water, had been inspected only to come back to the first one I found as it was the nicest one
Finished the Decimator today. Decided to do the interior like the original Legacy designs I did around A9, when I built a massive underground legacy base. Looked great, but it was too big and the performance was terrible. I'll probably re-do it at some point now that we have better rounded block shapes that don't impact performance as badly as the old thin shapes did.
Had a visually rich adventure today. Starting with the Epic Jungle planet: Several of these are going in the epic screenshot thread. Sadly i had to leave because it felt like my computer might explode, but if I get a new computer I will definitely come back here. Then I found my way to the black desert planet and collapsed several of the spooky void towers for vast amounts of loot: So yes spooky, but, loot? Then I found an inner-planet that had a mysterious signal that, like a moth to flame, I had to investigate: but then nothing was there so I assumed that it was tied to a quest on the planet. Ultimately I will come back to this too, but I was REALLY curious about this Metal planet I saw on my solar system H.U.D. I kept thinking as I was going, "Did Ravien do what I think he did...?" Haha! He totally did! It is a gigantic planet made out of metal ores! I was wondering if the Developers or Ravien would do something like this. Low and behold, here it is! So tonight or tomorrows adventure will be puttering around on the planet - although, a very careful stealthy putter because there are bunches of multi-rocket defense posts scattered about. On the plus side I get to see what a very careful stealthy putter looks like.
That's the barren metal planet. I can't take credit for that one. By the way it's not the only default planet with layers of subsurface ores.
Played around with some more base designs. Really just concepts at this point. Images below are the start of another Outpost; just a rough draft and nowhere near complete. Going for a kind of retro-futuristic vibe on this one. (Core and Generator stuck off to the side just so I can get some power while building)
Looks real pretty. I think by the use of those Heavy Windows and the amount of Sathium needed you may as well build the whole building with Hardened or even Combat Steel....if you are not already doing
You You know @Ramachandra, if we had some epic vines that swayed in the wind that we could attach to structures, that Ancient Structure would look like it came right out of tomb raider.
To get brain wise complete occupied I started today another SP Survival Game. Title says it all - Vomited This time, very different to the previous ones, on the OddTemperate Planet. The Water colour is quite disturbingly RED, like Blood, and also, as the description of the Starter World states, very sparsely littered with ores. I managed to get my tiny HV together and while searching for Ores, I found the DSE-Front Part and in it two loot containers of which one... ->
