I just wanted to do some new LCDs. I got inspired by Sulusdacor' s latest build and ended up creating a holographic keyboard. If you like you can use it for your builds as well: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2072409213
Haha, I knew people would ask yout the ' Men' key. The word 'Menu' was too long for the space available. BUT, I have already changed the ' Men' into this symbol: ☰. I didn't wnat to re-do all screenshots.
All I can say right now is ,The Devs are amazing. Don't worry about seeing a few screenshots of the Alpha 12 New galaxy before the public release because the galaxy is so huge I doubt anyone will be able to explore all of it.
The New Zirax ships are way more powerful than any CV I have. Guess I'm going to have to rebuild. haha
Well, that challenge of getting off a toxic planet without any resources, limited air and no warp drive took like an hour at most. Dropped down on the few deposits i'd need that were available and unguarded for copper and silicon. Took to space, found a wrecked ship with a full constructor, generators, fuel tanks and buttloads of loot. The only reason it took as long as it did was because the CPU of the wrecked ship, as a base, began to explode the generators since their output was being reduced by all the thrusters. So I spent a lot of time stripping off the thrusters, repair bays and weapons and sticking them in a box. My second problem was finding carbon substrate on a planet with no vegetation. Fortunately, there was another wrecked ship 8km away with struts of carbon composite, which I salvaged for parts to make a new warp drive. I did that yesterday. Wasn't as much of an epic journey as i'd hoped. Today, more survival. Went to a different planet, a large ocean planet, looking for titanium. Unfortunately, every single deposit I found was under a damn cluster of zirax POIs which I can't take in an unarmed carrier. So I spent 2.5 hours exploring the whole planet for unguarded Titanium, which I did eventually find, sort of. Next to a T2 Epsilon Defense, except it was behind a ridge so I could dig a hole in peace. Only a Very Small deposit, so I didn't even get that much. I regret not making a combat SV now. Maybe later. I need to upgrade my constructor to make steel farm plots (why do these even need an adv constructor? It's not like they're faster or more advanced than a wood one) so I can make my real base... once I find a nice planet to settle down on.
After a pretty long break I've decided to give singleplayer a try again instead of just mucking about in creative. I've hit a snag though and I'm not sure if its a bug or just a change in the game. I was trying to make a base inside of a mountain but it seems that if more than 80% (ish) of a block is inside the terrain it isn't placeable any longer. I'm hopeing this is a bug because if its working as intended it could cause a fair few issues, and not just for subterranean bases.
Made two new POIs today. A replacement Polaris Agricultural Station, since the Trade Guild will probably steal the non-standard civilian bases. If you add a yellow light next to a grow light you can counteract the magenta color and get white light... almost. The yellow's a bit too strong. And I did a Kriel defense tower.
