On my computer, I launch a dedicated server and a game client. Also, a client from another computer is connected to the server. Suddenly, in the headphones I began to hear the sound of engines - as it turned out, it was an echo from one of the server processes of a dedicated server. Do server processes need audio output?
Additionally installed the version of Dedicated Server from Steam-> Tools. In this case, the server does not use sound-output at startup.
Please write some clear steps next time took me a while to find out that it was about CooP CooP and DedicatedServer are two compleet different things
Sorry, I just looked in the directory with the game, saw a subfolder of Dedicated Server and thought that the game client has a stripped down version of Dedicated Server used for Coop. The bug is observed precisely with the Coop version of the server.
I just encountered the same problem. Basically, the host of local coop gets to hear engine sound (much louder than actual engine sound, at least for me) that means "The other player turned his SV or HV on". Mirosya, thanks for the advice - finding a process that makes that sound and turning sound off for it worked for me (though when we changed playfields there was another process that started making noise... that's really uncomfortable). Any chance this will be fixed soon, like in Alpha 12?
