    Very nice ship. Might I entreat you to put a landing zone on the top with an elevator leading to the interior? Let me know when you publish this(or update) I might actually make a version for myself.

    There is a small deck on the upper aft- the door leads into A deck, which is crew quarters and bridge. The elevators in the cargo shots lead up there. SV's and HV's of about that same size can also fit into the cargo bay

    Not sure if that's a blessing or a curse :-O. On the one hand, deleting the lower level CPU extensions makes for a somewhat less expensive CV. On the other hand, if you're in a fight and somehow the enemy manages to destroy 1 of the 4 T4 extenders, then you automatically revert back to the base core rather than a T3 CPU. This means everything stops working since the CPU would be a minimum of 750% (1.5M / 200k = 7.5) overworked.

    Personally I think that is a good compromise .... cost vs risk :). But I wonder how many of new players will know that?? Might be a good idea to somehow add that to the CPU description ... just a thought. Thanks for the explanation :)

    It's a choice EACH ONE has to take for himself if you place ALL Extensions or just those witch suit the requested Level.
    Wasn't my Idea and I, personally, don't like it. Therefore ALL my Builds have the full amount of CPU-Extenders placed.

    I think a better solution would be that the multi-block tiers function at x% of capacity if all are not present- although that would need to include a management system of at least powered-off devices not consuming CPU

    So hypothetically, you're Tier3 and lose one T3 block.. you function at 50% of the T3 max until repaired, shutting off systems to compensate your efficiency. Lose 1 T4 block, you're at 75%, etc.

    Having to place every block of every tier only makes sense if the blocks are cumulative in total points. Right now, there is no difference in total CPU capacity whether you have T2 + T3 blocks installed, or only T3

    And if that means that a new build that only has 2 T4 units installed functions at 50% of max, so be it. It introduces a bit of customization.

    It's possible to use both higher and lower tier Extenders so if anything bad happens to the higher tier Extenders, the CPU Power can 'fall back' to lower Tier CPU Power instead of lose it all outright...

    Then again, 99% of us hug our Extenders & Core together so if ya lose any of them ya might as well have lost'em all... so the 'Fallback Extender Strategy', to borrow Pokémon Showdown Terminology, has a approximate Strategy Worth Rating of "PU". :p (To put that in Perspective, PU is the Tier of power below even NU which stands for "Never Used". ;) )

    Whatever you want to put into the Hangar needs a Door. Soooo... it depends what you want to put into the Hangar to determine the height;) too.

    There is no such thing as "One Size Fits All". If you make it 6, someone will inevitably request that you make it 7 . To follow up on what Germanicus said ... make it work for YOUR ships and the way YOU play. Looks good so far ... waiting for end result

    No simple answer. It never *needs* to be higher than the door opening, however some SVs with a huge amount of lift thrust might shoot upwards when you undock if not careful - but a decent pilot gets used to that (server lag allowing).

    In the end it depends what you want to stick in there. Mid/Large SVs and HVs, then just under 3 minimum, but 5 common as that match the 9x5 door. For a tiny CV, that get dictated by the door opening (13x7 or 9x7).

    No real point in being higher than the door unless there is something fancy going on inside - ie multi level decks as some of mine have, or you have a narrow hangar and wish to fly over park vessels to/from the exit - some of mine keep the height for that reason. Some taper down inward, so less height further in.

    If you have the space and nothing better to do with it, then give it to the hangar. Even my Orion CV (size class 10) is undergoing a refit to give it more hangar space in the same hull - a combination of adding more floor space and adding a second parking deck. Sometimes you can never have too much hangar space :)

    I have a starter base called "Modularity" with several stand alone versions. Decided to actually make it modular with each section having it's own core. Yes - I know it may draw more unwanted attention from my enemies, but surrounding it with stand alone turrets "should" take care of that as each individual module has ONLY sentry coverage.

    First photo is the latest "stand alone" base ...

    Second is the modular approach with ...
    1. L5 Starter Housing (large constructor, 18 grow plots, fridge, food proc, room for medical and a few cargo containers)
    2. L3 Garden (81 grow plots, fridge and food processor)
    3. L7 Light Engineering ( 2 Large constructors, 92k Cargo (x2) with room to expand to 320k each but needs T2 CPU extension first)
    4. L12 Heavy Engineering (1 Adv, 1 Large, 1 Small constructor, T2 CPU, Deconstructor, Furnace, 320k Cargo (x2) )
    5. L3 Landing Pad (3 sizes - small one shown, largest is 4x size)
    6. L7 Hangers (largest shown with 9x7 hanger door, smaller ones are with 3x5 and 5x7 doors)

    Haven't published yet in workshop ... need to flush out anything I may have missed :).

    That is pretty much how I have been build my main base almost since the beginning (basically what my 'sheds' series is on the workshop https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2014322989 ) - its solves a lot of problems with drone out ranging your turrets and CPU upgrades not being needed as pretty much everything ends up as T1 or T2 :)

    I keep meaning to get around to doing a more luna colony looking version (instead of warehouse district).

    Don't even have to shuffle stuff around much either.
