Thanks! This has officially become my largest, most complicated build. It'll be on the workshop... eventually. I'm currently slogging my way through painting, texturing, lighting, signals, and pretty-ifying the internals. Just finished the crew barracks, this'll give you an idea of the expense, though I haven't started reinforcing key areas with combat steel and I intend to downgrade a lot of internal walls to carbon composite. I have trouble following the angles when trying to build with that stuff. Also added a touch of piping and some antennae externally. Of course, when taking this screenshot I though to myself... "Self, wouldn't those superstructure beams on the side look better and break up the girth of that massive hanger better if they were diagonal?" So... yeah... eventually.
Today I got stuck. I can jump about and move back and forth, but what I am stuck behind is too tall to jump up onto. I might be able to get under it, if there is a way to crawl. So, how do I crawl, or else how can I get unstuck, please?
There's no way to crawl currently. Can you destroy or mine whatever you are stuck on? Have you tried Godmode yet? Press the ~ key and enter gm. That will let you move through terrain. If you are on a server, trying contacting a moderator or admin, or just another player that can mine or destroy the object you are stuck on. PS: knowing how easy it is to use Godmode can be a curse, but also a lifesaver to maximize your fun when you run into bug and glitches. You at your own discretion
Nightshots with all lights on. The finished cockpit from yesterday: After todays work i had time to flesh the internal hangar out: As i have heard it often enough on my older builts, i will try to keep the floor layout as simple as possible. The central lift is directly behind the boarding ramp and leads to the Medbay and Cockpit (Floor 2), Cantine and SV Bay Exit (Floor 3). Two Growrooms will be accessible from the groundlevel (Floor 1) on both sides from the lift.
Thank you @michaelhartman89, building and texturing is a great timesink for me. Often i get lost in it. Got much from studiing the work of others in the community and then trying to adapt their techniques.
I had so much fun today... As some of you might know from my previous builds I am - lets call it - "mildly obsessed" with creating BA and CV pairs where the CV archtectonically fits into the BA. I was busy designing and building another project when I saw the Monolith in the distance. I thought: "Its such a pity that its a BA and I have to put one on each planet I land on and then never use it again. I would so rather take it with me." So I turned it into a CV. The base that complements the Monolith is super cheap and can be built on each and every planet I visit. Its not much more than the rocks that you get when excavating the docking bay. The best thing is, the same docking mechanism that autoaligns the Monolith in its planetary base can be used to align it in a space-only CV (That thing is currently literally just a box, so no pics, sorry...) While the aerodynamic ascent profile of the Monolith is almost perfect, landing the thing on a planet is a wee bit harder. I'm just glad for the O-key. It is also practically unarmed - except if you call sentry turrets armament - so bringing it down in a warzone might lead to some frustration. I laughed so hard when my crazy idea really worked that my kids came looking for me. Then they demanded to give it a new paint job but I politely refused. Now... what about that Prism-Spire-thing... lets turn that into a CV too...
You can toggle Godmode on and off with "G" I believe once you've entered the command in the ~ menu. I'm not at my pc at the moment to verify.
I wish I took more screenshots because this one doesn't do it justice. My group and I decided to raid a planet in Zirax territory. My SV got completely destroyed so I was stuck on foot. Meanwhile, there were laser and plasma blasts going off around me -- my buddies' CVs were pounding away at a Drone Base, Zirax drones were trying to fight back, Zirax ground troops and mechs were lobbing ammo at our ships and at me.. It reminded me of the big battle from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Oh, and a few mins later, a meteor shower began falling which hurt like hell. It was all super cool.
Now, that my Laptop died and my PC has been repaired, I could dare to try again a Vanilla Game Start - Snow Planet. After 3 Days picking up all Ore Rocks and Surface Rocks I managed to build my small, but capable, Survival HV(Lvl 5). Right from the start I aimed for finding Promethium Rocks in the Mountain Regions. BINGO! Found "The Land of Milk and Honey"
Wonderful star around one of those "Object" structures. I hacked all of them and they final one gave me the second epic armor and second heavy sniper. After that i raided a few more POIs. Though i am kinda done with PE. It adds a lot of nice new stuff, missions but there is still something missing. A harder/more realistic AI and some more balance related things. So i turned my head to Reforged Eden and started a game with it. I chose the odd temperate start with more difficult settings. I basically spent the first hour running away from the swamp golems and spinosaurus (i think they´re too quick for their attack behaviour; they´re missing me 90% of the time and when they "catch up" i´m usually inside their model. I then came across a wood walker which finally killed me the first time. I tried kiting it so the Talon patrol i came across can kill it but they were 2 seconds too slow. I set up camp with a few survival constructors and gathered materials. My first idea then was to again build a base inside a mountain so i packed all my stuff into my trusty hover bike and went up the hill. It kinda worked though maybe a bit slow. And the moment i activated cruise control i just went backwards. Of course i need ressources and went ahead to the three kinda close deposits. On the medium iron one i got off the hv and started digging a little hole on an angle down to it. Quite soon i heard the spider noises. I tried to ignore them but after a minute they annoyed me enough to get the shotgun and go up to them. Oh boy. One of those golem thingies and about 15 very fast crawling and jumping spiders. Thankfully i got rid of my arachnophobia some time ago. About 5 minutes and about 150 shotgun shells later they were fresh meat though. I dug up enough of the three ores to be able to produce my starter sv once a reach level 7 and brought the rest back to base. There i was standing and wondering why i should even build a base. In PE i basically skipped it and just looted poi after poi until i had the materials for my starter cv which i then used to gather the materials for my mobile home base cv. I think that approach may be harder in Reforged Eden but shouldn´t be impossible, only thing is i do not know is how RE compatible my ships are, although that´s easy to test. Not even player progression set to slow should hinder me as i still get more than enough xp.
Continue my SP Project Eden, start Dark Rogue. Have a SV with warp and shield, also fixed up a couple of CVs. one with warp. Took over one of the moons (cold one), the Drone base were a crashed vessel with some good loot, as CV cockpits and turrets (yes, I try take out POIs with as less damage as possible, finding or creating blind spots close). EDIT: Yay, got a posting on page 1111
Finished the exterior hull of the Tovera today. I'm surprised the class size is so low for how large and detailed the exterior is. It's a smaller class size than the MS Titan, despite being several times its size. Though since it doesn't have an interior, I suspect that will make up the difference. Front. Rear The only semi-finished room in the ship: The Bridge. It spans three levels and is based on the combat bridge of the FA-033A Millenium, which also shares a similar triple-cannon turret design, albeit slightly larger. Also took it for a test flight. Very fast and maneuverable thanks to the wide-spread thruster placement and this is with Reforged flight model. Although difficult, it's also possible to have this within the RG CPU limits.
Objectively, I like the EGS more externally, but of course the technical capabilities of our creativity are lame, after what we see it seems that we have not really implemented anything at all ... I hope the developers will arrange a rush towards the engineering component.
Today I ... Nothing like that, I just continue to build an aircraft carrier Teleport room One of the canteens Pylon sofas for especially daring travelers One of the sickbays One of the crew rooms ... LOVE THE SOUND OF TURBINES IN THE MORNING !!! And this is only 70% of the premises of one side of the ship ... In honor of the non-standard design of the ship, symmetry is out of the question in the placement of compartments ... While building, even this itself began to get lost where. We'll have to make a bunch of notes on what and where ...
Woooow, alot of things. Exploring and so on. Finding so much resources I can't even imagin what to do whith them. And tried to find a home too. Found some but not really worth it. I mean, I want a gorgeous place. Found 2 very good with loads of everything I want, but that's not what I want. I want a gorgeous place with no reason to dig a hole in the ground. Pleasant view, no radiation, no nothing bad. The sea, a pool. What did you expect ? In the mean time, I've been working on that gorgeous BA design from Dubrovnik Designs. Apparently it is left orphan. I began to convert it to alpha 13 (oops) v1.1. Currently wiped all the cargo boxes, managed to create 2 controllers (1x 320k, 1x 295k), reduced abnormal levels of things that were certainly good in the past, made it cpu compliant for T2. Will upload it if noone screams before. I'm just the plumber... not the architect ! Cheers!
