Well, just last night I was wondering if I should just start a new game. It would appear that the answer is "Yep, might as well do it now." (Need to make sure that my SV, and CV I modified have updated blueprints, first, though.)
I highly advise AGAINST updating your blueprints if you are on the experimental branch since it is not finalized. I advise going back to the normal version of the game to make any updates.
Can you please tell me if I go back to the normal version as of now will it still be 1.5 or will I be downgrading to 1.4.7?
Also, any saves you have in 1.5 will be unplayable and any blueprints saved in 1.5 can cause a CoQ error.
The main difference between ALT-F4 and a power outage is that when ALT-F4 windows still has control of read/ writes on disk. If that means anything to you. I have had to ALT-F4 in the dozens of times in hundreds of new starts for all kinds of tests, and some games that closed "normally" would not even appear in the savegame lists, or miss the cache of the main save, or any combination of these. I can safely affirm that what you describe has a veryt tenuous correlation with ALT-F4 out when a game hangs or when a CoQ appears.
I have had save games corrupted because of Alt-F4 (and I'm not the only one). So if there is a difference, the game doesn't care and it can (and eventually will) lead to a corrupted save file. A power outage leads to a corrupted save file more often, but both eventually lead to the same result.

Speaking as someone who has been extremely critical and at times combative with the developers, I can tell you that they do not ignore bug reports. The bug report section is by far where I am most active and many of the bug that I report do (eventually) get fixed or at least addressed. Just stick to the facts when you make a report and be sure that you use the proper report template and give as much relevant information as you can.

But I just finished my story playthrough last night... .. now I have to start all over again. <snif> At least that explains the random CoQ's I was seeing. The turrets were wiping out telluropods while I was flying over. I do have a few new bugs to report from last night though, I do not see them in the notes so I will test them in the new version before reporting them. Side note: Thank you for putting the legacy Color & Texture tools back into the game.
