Build:3373 Mode: Survival SERVER NAME: N/A SEED-ID: 2261970 If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: N/A Reproducibility: Always Severity: Trivial Type: Dialog Summary: Players position jumps when talking to NPC's Description: When the player talks to an NPC their position will jump when starting the conversation, the player usually jumps back to their starting position once the conversation is over. One time I was in the elevator in Sanctuary when the mission dialog popped up. I took impact damage and was teleported to the bottom of the shaft (I was near the roof doors) Steps to Reproduce: Play through the story and talk to NPC's.
On a side note, if you watch Spanj's playthrough video from today you can see it happen to him quite a few times. There is a major position jump at timestamp 46:00 with an intermittent message I have been seeing as well about a freighter about to self destruct.
It will remain present until a fix is done for it which you will know is on the way when the thread prefix is changed to "Fixed in the Next update". Currently no ETA for this but it won't be too long. Thanks.
Potentially related (assuming this is some sort of player-state reset on conversationEnter/conversationExit) is that if you are in space the jetpack is suddenly disabled when you exit the conversation. I tend to jetpack around stations; if you're having a conversation with Brewmaster Lark from across the 2nd-floor railing the effect is a lot like the coyote being handed a physics book after running out into the nothing. This happens in all conversationExit events.

Version: 1.6.3 3512 Mode: Survival Seed-Id: any Reproducibility: always Severity: potentially serious Type: issue 7980 causes door trigger event Repro/Summary: (see below) This appears to be a coincident issue with the auto jet pack disable & player jumps during NPC discussion problems. The issue is very apparent in "The Cruel Stars" chapter of main mission during the internal inspection steps. Repo 1) arrive at station and perform visual inspections, 2) go to station hatch using jetpack (required for movement in space), 3) enter door code when asked and then fall through the "fork lift" landing in front of door when jetpack fails... This triggers a reactivation of the doors "enter code" dialog and you can't ESC exit that dialog (why?) without entering the code and once you do that it closes the door = endless loop. It requires opening the door from a meter or two back to avoid the second trigger and given what can happen in these POIs that could result in very bad outcomes.
...and another- Performing an auto-group operation from the devices tab under the "P" menu also disables the jetpack. Note: If you are in a space base that isn't oriented to the normal x/y/z plane this can clip you inside structures in addition to disabling the jetpack as whatever is being done also seems to reorient the avatar to the coordinate system as opposed to leaving them be- modal operations shouldn't tweak player positions.
