Mode: Survival Mode: Singleplayer SERVER NAME: n/a SEED-ID: 184411 playfield "Vuneeure" If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: completely unmodified steam instal Win7 Reproducibility: Always Severity: ugly Type: gameplay, UI and graphical Summary: The starter block leaves a ghost image when used from a linked toolbar, exit to menu and reload does NOT remove the ghost image, it just moves location in the playfield. Any save loaded during that play session will contain the green block, even a save preceding the manufacture of the starter block. QED its using the wrong kind of memory. Only compete exit from the game and restart will remove the green ghost block. Description: Glowing green block lurks in mid air but cannot be interacted with. Steps to Reproduce: Place starter block in linked toolbar and select, find potential drop site press F2, select desgin and open factory, place starter block in the factory receiver square and close F2. Glowing green block remains. Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links: Screenshots. Original bug screenshot. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2075313766 This second screenshot is after testing reproduction and then loading a save which preceded the manufacture of the starter block without closing the client. In the foreground is a green block from the attempt to reproduce i.e. second green ghost block which no longer contains the images of the steel blocks and core and in the distance just below my base door is the top of the moved green block, which from the first time it happened before the reproduction and was originally in the same location as the foreground block, so it has moved !? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2075363138 This is related to a previous report about ghost starter block images when using a storage linked toobar and its still a problem in 12. https://steamcommunity.com/app/383120/discussions/2/3022387599787048353/ In this case the SV starter block was held in the linked toolbar as shown in the screeny above before being moved to the F2 factory to be used in producing a blueprint. The starter block was selected before opening F2 factory and the block was sited over a concrete block partial set into the side of the tunnel using the N > Building tab "connect to base" function as build on base is true and there the image stayed after dropping it into F2. Expected behaviour - It should not have produced an image in the playfield at all while F2 was up and should have operated as inventory. It should not be leaving ghosts around when using the linked toolbar and the ghosts should not reside in memory when loading earlier saves. This is what they mean when they say "FUBAR". PS btw the fact it is in the wrong kind of memory is probably why it makes a ghost FYI.
Good In relation to this there is another minor bug worth mentioning about how starter blocks are treated differently, maybe this could be fixed at the same time, maybe it is related. BUG - in all the constructor build filters, if you select a filter (HV,SV,CV,BA), the starter block for the filter type does not show up when you would expect it to. e.g. select SV for example, look in blocks, the SV starter block does not show up as a buildable block. Ditto HV and CV and BA. Expected behaviour - when you select a constructor filter for structure type, the starter block for that structure ought to be shown. Hope it helps.
This. Please, please, please can we finally get this changed after all these years??? It should include starter blocks in those filters.
V. 1.3 Mode: Survival Severity: Moderate, Completely Annoying This is a long-time bug, still happening. Place a starter block, watch the starter block fall out of the position you placed it and remain until you quit. Doesn't really hurt anything, just annoying as can be, and interferes a little with construction, since the "ghost block" is visually in the way.
Locate the exact position of the ghost block and then try this : 1. Create a blueprint out of the BA or vessel with the ghost block. 2. Start a new creative game and spawn in. 3. Check to see if the ghost block is there. 4. Play/create long and prosper.
The VT has not seen a fix for this 'Problem'. So the only Way to solve this is STILL not to use the VT OR have the Starter Block not in the highlighted box (that worked at leastt a while ago) - untried in latest Builds.
A simply Log Out - (clear Cache) - Log In removes the Shadow-Starter Block - Tried/Done in one of the latest Builds.
1.Thank you I will keep that trick in mind. 2. With the need of much cleaning of cache we need a special button for this purpose. In the load screen of course. 3. What is the VT you refer above?
