Hi Galactic Survivalists! In addition to the previous patch here is the changelog for v1.7.6 with some fixes we have been working on. Have fun and please report bugs and problems as usual - thanks a lot! Report bugs and issues for the public release right over here: https://empyriononline.com/forums/bugs.24/ v1.7.6 B3717 Changes: - (legacy ModInterface): In Request_Player_ItemExchange added immediate "ok" answer if opening item exchange window has worked Fixes: - Fix for an issue with vessels losing control when another vessel docks to them - Fixed a exception loop that happened when looking at a portal that doesn't lead to an instance playfield - Multiple exceptions found from logs sent in
I trust there was a good reason for such a large download for a hotfix? Not all of us have unlimited internet. If the hotfixes start becoming the same size as major version releases then I suppose waiting a few weeks for things to stabilize before updating might become a thing. At the very least I'm going to have to start checking how big they are before mindlessly clicking the update button. Thanks for the work, though.
Thanks a lot! The server is running a lot more stable since 1.7.5 (In fact: I didn't have to restart it manually a single time since then while it was crashing multiple times per day before 1.7.5). Also: Thanks a lot for fixing the vessel docking issue with 1.7.6 - We will try this out in a long session this evening. <3
The problem with this is though that, when running a server with multiple players, the only practical way i have experienced so far is just keeping the running server instance always updated to the latest non-experimental release. Otherwise some clients will auto-update and not be able to connect to the server or revert easily. Edit: Also, in my experience, it's incredibly tricky to supply small updates to a unity project, at least code-wise. Once you edit a single line in a script, it will recompile the entire Assembly-CSharp.dll and change all the label indice which makes creating a delta of the fix without referenced assets very impractical without risking inconsistencies.
Not at all. I wanted to relate to the idea of not applying updates if they are too big. Because that might cause either you or other players not being able to connect to the server anymore.
Yes, I saw your edit and realized it was addressing the "size" point. I suggested some time ago that they "freeze" a version after v1.0 so players/ server owners could keep that version until the next "major" and avoid the whole frequent updates cycle. Not only for the sake of saving internet volume for those with limits, but also to allow longer MODs life between updates so players can focus more on content development than fixes/ updates.
Being an SP-only player I suppose I have more leeway about updating immediately or not. Good info on the Unity idiosyncrasies; I would imagine the go vs. no-go on releasing Unity hotfixes becomes a bit more complicated, at least insofar as file sizes are concerned. Not much choice if something game breaking needs fixing.
Enemies still fall through colliders and gain advantage shooting players through protected areas....Old bug seems either never fixed or is back from some reason POI's name Major communications center form Reforged Eden, if this information has any value. Also two bugs where not fixed either. 1. Colliders with blast doors and ramps auto-retraction when the player collides with them.
Note to all server operators who use the EmpyrionBackpackExtender (VirtualBackpack): Fix for double ok result in 1.7.6 https://github.com/GitHub-TC/EmpyrionBackpackExtender/releases/tag/2.2.0 The ModLoader package also contains the updated version: https://empyriononline.com/threads/mod-my-mods-astic-compatible-with-the-v1-7.49107/
The Explorer Token icon (in the backpack) seems to have disappeared with this new 'Hotfix' The 'orange circular' Explorer icon in the backpack from my current game registers a blank space with the quantity of 5 (which can be distributed and dropped/picked up) Repeatable: I tried it on a new survival game and it's not there. Anyone else... or is it just me?
Please make use of the bug report section & explain if you can reliably reproduce this & what are these steps to reliably trigger this if known https://empyriononline.com/forums/bugs.24/ Thanks.
There is already one but it's internal, maybe I should make it public? https://empyriononline.com/threads/npcs-shooting-through-walls.99497/
