Fixed 12.3 - AI Turrets & creative mode [7457]

    Summary: 12.3 Update - HV Turrets don't acquire target any longer

    Description: See Summary

    Steps to Reproduce:
    Start a new Creative - temperate planet.
    Spawn in any HV, or use the one on the base provided.
    Add HV turret and ammo controller.
    Add 15mm rounds and cycle the gun (get in and reload - always needed)
    Spawn in any enemy. I used alien assassin, spiders, & rapters.
    The turret refuses to fire unless I am in toe cockpit.
    Added 3 more turrets, same behavior.

    (Turrets are supposed to protect. If I have to be in the ship then they're useless.)
    I'll update this thread after testing in Survival.

    Edit: After testing in Survival, the turret works as expected. It acquires a target and kills it.
    Not the alien assassin because it assumes it to be another faction. This is good.

    Description: I'm not sure is this should be, because this is a new feature.
    (Thank you for the protection if it works)

    Steps to Reproduce:
    Start a new Creative - temperate planet.
    Spawn in any SV, or use the one on the base provided.
    Add new SV turret and ammo controller.
    Add 15mm rounds and cycle the gun (get in and reload - always needed)
    Spawn in any enemy. I used alien assassin, spiders, & rapters.
    The turret refuses to fire at all, unless I fire it. (no auto fire)
    Added a few more turrets, same behavior.

    I'll update this thread after testing in Survival in case this is a Creative bug.

    The AI is turned off in creative mode as default.
    To turn it on type dm into the console:
    dm

    then check the AI box.

    Thank you for the info Pantera. I did that first, and still nothing.

    But they are working in Survival. I'll update my bug report...

    Edit: The 2 reports have been updated. This is great! I love the new turrets. Can we please have the smaller ones too. :)

    Strange each time I try it in creative mode it works ok for me

    You used the same list? That's weird.
    I used that ship that was sitting in the hanger. I'm going to try a different one. Mine would not shoot unless i sat in the cockpit.

    I assume in creative, you really don't want to be bothered killing things. I don't. I use creative to test and build.
    Let me go try it with another ship to be sure. (now it's bugging me lol)


    BTW, I set the Faction rep local Kriel 100, and the turrets killed him in Survival. Then set it to friendly and they no longer shoot. This is epic!! A turret on a SV to protect against bugs while mining.

    I stay friendly with all factions. I'm a trader by nature. I always edit that file so I can buy and sell things.


    EDIT: OK, started new game, it works now. That's just weird. Nevermind (crawls away with his tail between his legs) :)

    From now on, I'll test Survival and Creative in 2 games each before I report.

    It would be easier to see anything if you attached a save & leave your character standing next to the vessel.

    There is actually a little something to look at here it will be logged actually to look into when we can.
    For now for checking out AI turrets I suggest to stick with Survival or maybe Freedom mode also.
