You can turn planets into instances. Then they reset after the instance timer is up. You will need to travel to the play field with a portal.

Yeah, the new version of the game hides planets farther than 1 jump. Also, yes the random planet names are weird, I just haven't gotten around to changing how they are generated. But you can always replace the names in the Sectors file as you wish.
Its wise to change the playfield to the same name as the planet, saves confusion and then the sector and the planet folder would be changed together. Also the ''discovery fog of war'' feature can be turned off or on via YAML, so its likely not every server will have it turned on some will some wont.
