The 'Base attacks' options in the in-game difficulty settings have some big potential to be improved. Currently what will attack your bases if you are in the vicinity of Zyrax command centers is only 2 drones or 1 troop ship that can debark 3 soldiers on foot. That's nice but it could probably be sensibly improved to be more combat challenging, say more difficult, and still you could switch it off if my suggestions make it in the option menu. What I think for good base attack options is this: - Let us chose a variety of enemy types that will attack our base and how many of such units, the choice should include: Drones, Troop ships, a small army of 10-12 troopers that will spawn in the vicinity of your base and move towards it and attack it (you know, these troops with wild dogs that you encounter now and then...That would be a real challenge!); or a combination of such units. Also give us a randomizer option so the player doesn't know in advance. - Let us chose when such attacks take place: On planets that have Zyrax territory or on planets which has any faction that is hostile to you. Still I don't know if it's possible to make a mod which would determine what units and how many would attack your base - in replacement of these 2 little drones which do almost nothing. It's a certainty that such a mod would be easier to do rather than the devs adding such changes in base attacks AND the option menu, but for players who don't like combat so much it should be possible for them to deactivate base attacks or reduce / increase them in difficulty, therefore my suggestions above. Anyone who knows about making such a particular mod, I would appreciate his feedback here, thank you!
