Build: 1.6.3 3512 Mode: Survival / Creative Mode: Single Player / Multiplayer Reproducibility: Sometimes Severity: Minor (possibly exploitable?) Type: Doors Summary: When a blast door or shutter door is connected to a switch and in its closed state, bumping into the end of the door will sometimes trigger the door to open, overriding the signal state. Description: I attempted to make an extendable bridge using a long blast door connected to a switch. I found that as I walked to the end of the door it would suddenly retract on me. It appears that for both blast doors and shutter doors you can sometimes trigger the door to open by touching the end of the closed door, even though a signal state should be holding it in its closed state. I believe it may be related to the "safety stop" mechanism that prevents these doors from closing on the player. My expectation is that once fully closed these doors should not be able to be opened by bumping into them. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Load the attached BA in a creative session. It features a few reproduction cases for this issue. 2) To the right of the stairs are two switches on consoles, which are connected to doors through signals. For the shutter and blast door, flip the switch to close the door and then walk along the line to the door. In most cases the door will open when you touch it. If it does not, flip the switch off and on again and it should reproduce the 2nd time. 3) To the left of the switched blast door is a regular blast door. This one is not connected to a signal. You can just manually close this door and then bump into the end of it and see it open. 4) The two sets of stairs lead to my original bridge cases. Flip the switch to extend the bridge, then walk across it. In the blast door case the bridge will retract just before you reach the end, and you will fall. In the shutter door case the bridge will retract after you have reached the other side. Again, if it does not trigger the first time you can flip the switch to reset it and it should trigger the 2nd time. Screenshots: Shutter door after switch is flipped. Walking along the line into this door will open it. Blast door after switch is flipped. Same deal. Blast door bridge after switch is flipped. Walking along the bridge, you will fall off the end of it. Shutter door bridge. Bridge will retract after crossing it.
Reproducibilty: always. I have noticed that since 1.6. (like the windows lod that has been judged to not be a thing that need correction apparently.) My ship is using 2 shutter doors controlled by sensor to make an outdoor bridge, and when I reach the middle of the bridge the shutter doors always switch state to opened and close immediately, but too late, I am falling. I have to wait a little after the doors have finished closing before being able to walk the way without the bridge opening, or jumping each time I reach the middle.
For more information see here Bug Report Template Build: latest Mode: SP If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: Reproducibility: Severity: Type: Signal Bug With the last update, signals no longer work properly. Especially when using motion detectors. In previous versions, the circuit shown in the video could be used without any problems. Now, with the latest version and the one before, the signal switches before I even set foot on the ramp. It's almost as if the user signal overlaps with the standard open/close of the ramp? There was something else I noticed with signals but I forgot the one with the ramp was the most annoying. Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links:
Doesn't look like a signal issue, I think it's related to this bug: https://empyriononline.com/threads/...n-unexpectedly-when-collided-with-8204.98973/ I didn't check ramps, but it looks like the same thing.
It is quite possible that it is related to this. The bug is really annoying, with the small ships I have the condition for the time being tied to the landing gear. Goes with the big ones that load something rather less.
I believe it is probably due to some "security check" from the door. When we close a door, if the moving door touches us before finishing closing, it will open. It seems like we can't anymore use blast doors as elevator.
