This happens on other starts as well. Can be reproduced every time in the main menu Start Tutorial. Area affected seems limited to where you emerge from the water on the ocean planet (after teleporting from the damaged ship). After the first 3 or 4 stones vaporize and you move inland, survival tool works normally. Reproducible in the main menu Start Tutorial mission. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start the tutorial 2. Follow the instructions through to Teleport away from the damaged ship 3. Upon arriving at the underwater teleport, break out of the box and swim to nearest shore 4. Immediately attempt to harvest the nearest stones.
